I played a lot of Rhino after swapping out of Excalibur, since rhino was good, easy survivability and damage. Neat aesthetics.
Swapped to Gara when she was one of the first Primes I got because had a cool aesthic and also had a couple of easy abilities.

I suppose consider what you don't like about the options you have avaliable and see what provides that.

I'll take example from my personal favorites: nezha gauss rhino nova. They all have one thing in common I love: synergy with melees. I chose gauss because he's really fast and handy for getting things done quickly. I chose rhino because he can have one of the best buffer abilities, and still have the option to use a subsume. And also because pink rhino is a thing. I chose nova because she can prime enemies automatically and automatic priming has been my personal favorite game mechanic because I used to hate how I have to take out my guns to prime before I use melee. Finally I chose nezha because he's kind of a combination of everyone above. It all comes down to what you love the most about the game and choosing your arsenal based on that

The only thing is to really keep an eye on her energy levels. And the thing is try to always have her 4 active as Maim. If you go down, it releases the accumulated damage which should allow your squad member the time to revive you (But as time goes on, you're getting in the mindset of constantly swapping abilities between the forms

to me i see visually so bad, when i am at low health. In Overwatch 2 there is a good yellow highlighted screen when i am on low life. That would be a quality of life improvment to me

Heres a quick summary of the things I found cool:

1. Dreadnaught "patrol" zone, akin to the leviathan in Haunted
2. Weapons look really cool
3. No crafting again BUT instead they've given us a system where we can directly chase a perk iirc. It's not the same as crafting, but it might just let you get 2 perks per colomn that you want that crafting cant get you
4. Primary Trace rifle exotic
5. Velox Prime strand smg exotic

no, its arc, scoping fires off a pulse rifle like burst, hip fire is normal lazer. Hitting targets will charge a meter (quickly) which when special reloaded makes your beam jolt, and killing jolted targets will blind
