Once you're done with the quest, the whispers becomes a syndicate and inside the syndicate you can buy a non tau archon shard from bird 3 weekly which rotates, and also get more archon shards from a new gamemode there called netracells. If you have ranked up to rank 5 you will also unlock DA and EDA. EDA is unlocked after you've done DA with all modifiers

If you use rad it'll just increase your innate rad. If you use cold/toxin you still need 3 mods to set up viral heat
