the font on the design on the right is too bright imo. The colors in the back are all darkened so when you put a solid white font, the viewer will focus more on the title more than the actual design itself. What I would suggest (don't need to do it), is to actually blend the title to the background just a little bit to reduce the opacity of the font.

Nice nice, align the moon to the Center please. I know it looks cool at that position but it’s way better when it’s in the Center of the design. I personally don’t like the font. It doesn’t match the background and doesn’t contrast well with the moon concept. What I would suggest for that is to change the font type and also the colour. I want Kanye west to stand out a bit more. Enlarge it just a little bit more. Enlarge the moon title also. The title should take a bigger amount of space than your moon, right now it’s sharing an equal amount of space.

Amazing work!! Only suggestion (don’t need to do it) is the decrease the size of the snow that’s closer to the viewer. I feel like it’s a little too busy so decreasing the size would help the design breathe more. For the file save, save it for Web. You’ll have better control over the image quality. It’s under the Export Option and it will show Save For Web (legacy)

It’s called jagged edges. All you have to do is apply a layer mask and using the brush tool with black colour, paint over the jagged edges and it will “disappear”

Or feather the picture, making the edges smoother

really, depends on what kind of ad and the resolution you're working with. It can be for print or web or both. for print, 300 ppi/dpi. for web no more than 72 ppi. the more ppi you have, the better the quality it will be but you will have to deal with a bigger file size because the file needs to handle all of the pixels.

in this case, an ad like that will usually will go on web because it's square (probably 1000 x 1000 px), so 72 ppi is best. but with 72 ppi, you're gonna need to have your text enlarged enough so the viewer can see the information.

yes of course, ads come in billboards, social media ads, banners, etc.

so my advice, work with the biggest size you gotta work with so like that the client will be able to shrink the design and by shrinking the design you'll gain more resolution, hence better quality.

your client will often give you the size that you will have to work with. if they give you two, work with the largest one. if they give you one, work in a document that's larger than the one they give you.

Nice color palette. I would like to have the black color hex code (not RGB or CMYK). Follow this acronym: CRAP. it stands for Contrast, Repetition, Alignment, Proximity. You've nailed the contrast, Repetition is there, font is the same and colors are consistent. Alignment can be improved, if you're going slanted, everything else slanted. If you're going straight like the line on your first design, everything else straight. Proximity (which is your spacing) is on point.

Keep the boxes for your icons, it makes a good contrast for the black background that you have.

I think you've done an amazing job on this. I like how you can see the glow from the stone at the end of the staff on the sword. Everything looks like it is supposed to be in this image and was blended nicely. all of the texture looks great. You can clearly see the material of the metal and of the fabric that he is wearing. And even the chain mail that he is wearing shows up nicely. Amazing job!

I really like how the curved stick looks like it could be the chameleon's tongue. Clever! I also like the depth the darker trees give. I like the ridges on the chameleon's back and how the red makes him stand out. To me, he looks afraid; maybe it's the wavy mouth. Was that intentional? I wonder how the chameleon would look with a thicker, more realistic tail.

The Iris Project. I can't decide which I like best (typical). My goal is to have the iris flower blend in with the eye iris, but for it to still be recognizable. The original eye iris is the green one. I kind of like the purple eye iris, but I'm not sure the flower stands out enough. What do you think? How would you treat the challenge?

I dig it. I like the metallic effect. The vignette is maybe a little heavy, but that’s more of a personal preference.

It might cool if you tried blending the bottom of the neck into the planet, but it’s cool as is too

Two words come to mind when I look at this: Groovy, and Psychedelic. There's a lot going on in there. I can 'feel' the roughness of the textures. I'm not sure the technical term for the style, but I could see this as a thick, textured, oil painting.

Thanks. 🙂 I used a Chris Psachos painting as a reference for the texture and general aesthetic and modified a few of my own custom brushes. It was close to the most layers I’ve worked with in Fresco.

It’s also more layers that I usually do. I layered a lot of layers over each other. I had about 32 layers by the end

This image intrigues my eyes. Although the triangle shows no depth or texture on the outside, the shadowing behind the rose tells my brain that the triangle is hovering above the plane of the rose. When I look at the interior, my brain keeps wanting me to see this as a shadowbox, but when I drift up and away on the z axis I can see this as looking through a panel cutout where I peering down at the rose. Mesmerizing. You're last few comps challenge my visual acuity. Well done!

This is just a rough mockup but you can use a gaussian/box blur to help bring more focus on to the car itself. Would also be good to apply a general blur anyway because you can see pixellation in the car's shadow

@toxic dome @runic tulip if you want to add blur, gaussian blur isn't helpful in this design because the car is "moving"; there is an option of motion blur. motion blur would be beneficial in this design. use the motion blue for the trees. the road is already blurred so you don't need to add effects to it.

Lol, my bad. I confused two messages. I was referring to that bottom one, if you’re interested in some constructive feedback.

You could adjust the contrast with some levels or curves adjustment and tweak the lighting with a multiply and color dodge layer.

Maybe paint in a few more clouds with one Kyle Webster’s concept brushes or replace the sky all together with sky replacement.

I’d also take a soft round brush and blend the seams a little more too.

You could adjust the contrast slightly too. The car is a little brighter than the background and makes it feel a little out place. The lighting could use some adjustments too. It seems like some of the light and shadows are a little inconsistent.

Nice, I see a fairly consistent pattern in your color choices of your recent posts. I think it’s a cool way to sort of build a design identity. Obviously, when your doing something for someone else unless that’s what they’re looking for it’s good to be versatile. But defining a recognizable style through things like color choice probably can’t hurt though. But don’t quote me on that, lol. I’m certainly making a few assumptions.

The composition as a whole is solid. I'd back off of the outer glow a bit or make it a little smaller at least. Probably drop the opacity slightly on the shadow too. When looking at it at a smaller size it looks like the shadow is in front of and covering the the "U" in United States. Other than those minor things though, I think it's cool. I really like the font choice for "Cavani"

Hello! I would like to hear your opinion on my edit. The tiger is obviously edited into the picture. What can I do better? My problems were finding a picture of a tiger that matches the perspective of the original photo and that the picture of the tiger I found had no paws. I had to add half the legs of the animal from a different tiger. I used to photo edit some years back. Mainly very basic stuff and now I picked it up again to learn more

Hi @devout compass , thank you for your feedback. No, most of the lighting was made with three simple masks of curves adjustments, shadows/lighting and a little brightness/contrast masks. The original photo was already black and white. The shadows under the tiger where made by hand with the brush tool

The sharpness was another difficulty. I still somewhat dont like the back part of the tiger, but this might be due to the focus settings of the tiger photo. Not much I could do with my current knowledge level. The tail for example looks a little fake still.

Hello @frozen cliff! I noticed that the lower part of the background has a blur effect. The person's legs are sharp. If this was a real photo, the focus of the camera would be on the person and the part that is now blurred would be sharp. In my opinion, the person should be placed further back where the focus/sharpness is. Maybe if you could do some kind of blur grading on the lower part of the person it would look more natural, or like a real photo taken by a camera, if you want him to be on that position. Keep in mind I am a beginner myself.

I love this, and I think you should definitely have this made into a card. I really like the painterly-feel to the scene. It kind of reminds me of “old fashioned” Christmas cards (I mean that in a very good way). Although I wish the “Merry Christmas” text stood-out a little more from the background. I feel like it’s a little bit lost; maybe a wider font?

Thank you. that was the effect I was going for. I will definitely try out some wider fonts. I did have it sent to print and made cards out of it and I have to wait a day or two to see how they turned out. I didnt use the merry christmas part though.

The whole image feels a bit too dark. You could do a levels adjustment to the whole thing. I’d start by rolling off on the darks and see if that helps. You can add a solid color layer of a warmer tone. low opacity and color dodge blend mode or something similar to brighten it and get a cool effect.

The water looks a little muddy where the light is hitting it. Maybe do a levels adjustment and some color balance to pull out some of that. It seems to my eye like it’s coming from too much purple/blue in the shadows (though I’d experiment a little there to make sure).

I’d try out a few gradients under the layers to give it a more cohesive feel light/color wise too. It’s definitely a good start though! I think the elements are interesting and placed well generally.
