So all of a sudden after I updated PS and my graphics drivers whenever I hold my ALT key down my mouse starts to lag really bad in PS and is unusable for a few seconds. Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it?

butterfly stamp or brush on a few different layers, some with blur.
speckle brush or splatter brush for the dots.
some grid thing that im sure they downloaded.

Typically, you create a logo as vector art to begin with. That is the correct way. To make it vector shapes, you'd trace over the shapes with the Pen tool. I would probably do that in Illustrator though. Not Photoshop.

You only test it by looking at it. If the outlines look wavy or not consistent, you'll probably see it right way.

Yep found it, the original img was too big so the convertor also made it this big

I'd say that the CPU is important to any computer. However, probably "less" important than RAM, GPU and Fast Scratch disks when it comes to an app like Photoshop.

Sometimes people under-estimate what they'll need in regards to the graphics card. If you want to use multiple monitors, a Wacom tablet, you'll want to have ample resources on the card and enough ports to drive and accommodate those devices. And if you choose a beefy graphics card, you'll need a power supply to match. These are important things to consider when you're building a machine yourself.
