Since the current colour background is 1 solid colour you can use Select > Colour Range on it.
Then just remove it and stick this new image behind the character in it's own layer.

The only thing this stuff does is credit the original images you used to make your edit.

and even then you don't have to enable it

it's an optional feature that makes it easier.

Photoshop is a subscription service and I'm pretty sure no one is so generous as to pay a monthly for a random stranger. So please don't beg for free photoshop.
As for alternatives, just google "free alternatives to photoshop" and I'm sure you'll find what you need.
I recommend downloading a few and finding one that matches your needs.

Sidenote: I never found a free alternative that works as well as Photoshop, so if you can afford it, it's worth the subscription fee.

If you use Photoshop to create artwork for print, then you can forget about replacing it with GIMP for now, as GIMP supports only RGB colour.

There's no such thing as an NFT artist

When the thing you create can be considered a new piece just by changing 1 pixel and generating a new NFT, then it's not art.
It's creatively bankrupt and morally questionable.

I honestly feel it's a shame there's actual good artists that just throw away their work and royalties just to make a quick buck on a bubble.

It depends on type of the art. Some nfts base on a 'randomized collectible' system but there are also regular ones, where a real artist created an art. @fleet hollow could say something more about it, he has pretty impressive collection of owned and created nfts. Another question is how profitable it really is? Yeah, some nfts go for thousands of dollars but how likely are you going to get some of it when you are not a well-known and widely advertised artist?

I find the whole NFT sphere garbage. Either it's good art by real artists sullied by uploading it as an NFT.
Or it's a copy/paste hackjob which is literally just made to make money.
And all just to cash out as much as possible while it's still relevant, cause just like the stockmarket or the initial bitcoin mining this is going to burst.
Either the interest in it goes down and it becomes worthless, the market gets flooded with garbage (which is already starting to show), or the value of everything just crashes to zero.

If you can do it with a mouse, then it'll be easier with a pen.
Positioning with the screen is one on one unlike the mouse where you have to drag your pointer.

The crosshair can also just be the recording software

🤔 outside of cutting assets for product pages, sites and retouching, I usually don't dive too deep into photo editing and creating posters itself.
but I think it'd be good to look into some composition tutorials if you haven't yet.

From yesterday, I decided I'm going to have to dive into AE to animate that gold plane logo. I worked on it using timeline and frames but the best i could achieve was jittery. Some parts smooth, but I'm sure there's an AE motion template that I'll search and find.
