There are apps like Topaz Gigapixel and they might provide some help with upscaling. But when you get into high-quality printing, the flaws in generated images are easy to see.

Also, Gigapixel is a paid app. I don't know of any quality upscalers that do a good job and are free.

Magnific AI will upscale images and render detail. However, that tends to change the image as well during the process. Sometimes, it's cool and looks good. Other times, its too much of a shift.

It depends if you are able to tweak the spacing and kerning to make it aligned, both sides, from the available text.
Assuming, given the text being on the shorter side, that you don't want any hyphen.

Imagine you have a very long word, it wouldn't necessarily fit if you want them aligned both sides (justify) without altering the space between words or letters (but maybe your program can do that?)

I'm a flush left girl, but opinions vary on this. If you can make a justified text work, then all the better, but it will not look good if you got longer words or if you go wild with the letter/word spacing (spacing and kerning)
I think for this kind of short, informative text, it doesn't matter as much as when you're writting an essay or a book, as you're less at risk of weird patterns

Yes it's "p." And learning shortcuts is a great goal. When you hover over the tool for a second it will tell you the shortcut. If you only use the shortcut and you will eventually remember it.

Have you isolated the layer that's gold to make sure there's no guy or cutout that happens to be of the guy? And although I typed differently before the gold layer should be above the guy like you have it. Also, if your this deep into it I would rastarize the layers (un-smart object them) just to try everything. If you did that and showed a screenshot of the layers so we can see the thumbnail that would make things more transparent

I have no idea, I would try making another layer of the gold again on top of him. Check the blending modes. And just to get it over with, you can make a selection of the gold (press ctrl+click the layer icon), then go to the guy and mask it out. Make a mask, then press "fill" with the selection of the gold still selected and fill it black.

I would also try powering off pc, unplugging/replugging it as well as blowing on the Photoshop cartidge and smacking the tv near the bunny ears.

Its good. With the iPencil, its a great drawing experience. You also have Fresco and Illustrator on iPad as well.

Fresco is great for drawing/painting, it supports vector graphics and also does animation.

Can't speak intelligently about that. I've only ever used the Apple Pencil. (After spending that much money for the iPad, I didn't want to monkey around and take a chance with some off-brand peripherals causing issues, performance problems.)

There are no layers at that point.

No. Having this conversation is painful.

You either open the document or you import the image. That's how Photoshop works. That's how it has always worked. When you open a file, a JPEG or whatever, it doesn't automatically convert it to a PSD and make the image a layer. Its still just a JPEG file. You have do something to make it a PSD.

If you drop it onto an already open document, its a Layer.

copy transparent image to clipboard -> paste on paint.net file as a layer without any problem

in photoshop i can't do that, so i need to go plan B, in which in paint.net i save file in my download folder, click on the button "Import as layer", select the file, and it goes automatically here as a new layer

Its really not that much a hassle. You're acting like you have to save as, type a name, blah blah. You literally drag the image from Chrome to the Desktop. Now its saved for the moment. Then you drag the PNG from the desktop to the document you're working on; it comes in as a layer. Delete the image from the desktop later if you don't need it.

Either way... I've said all I have to say about this.

So, actually, I haven't tried this in a long time because it has been an issue for ages. However, I just tried copying a PNG with transparency from Chrome and it pasted into Photoshop with the transparency intact.

I'm using the latest General Release, version 26.8.1 - They must've fixed that at some point.

I would "assume" Photoshop wasn't interpreting the transparency data correctly. But it could be how the browser copy function worked and nothing to do with Photoshop at all.

Since Chrome and Edge are both WebKit-based, its possible its a browser issue. Especially since you've said it doesn't work with Firefox.

I wonder how the Mac users cope with this. It probably just works on MacOS. haha

Check in your CC app, it will tell you which software needs updating

Generally, Photoshop, Lightroom and ACR gets an update at the same time

Check also if it does the same when you open a file from Bridge, via the "Open in Camera Raw" option (right click) it uses the standalone Camera Raw software, not the integrated Photoshop fileter. Some options used to be in the standalone only (I haven't checked recently)

I can confirm I can see the denoise option in the Camera Raw software. I don't think it's there in the filter, but maybe someone can confirm (I'm running a script in Photoshop so I cannot check now)

Its fine from panoramic images but with a schematic, I would probably try to do this manually.

Fine lines and things that have to match up, I don't think Adobe intended it for this purpose. More for matching perspective on panoramas.

Not saying that it wouldn't work sometimes but I've just never had a lot of luck using it with this type of thing.

Which, if I were trying to do this, I'd probably get it close enough and then trace over that scan in Adobe Illustrator to recreate it in perfect detail. Not trivial. Quite a bit of work involved there.

You'll have to learn the core tools to be effective. Start at the beginning. Do the tutorials that ship with Photoshop. Ctrl F. Tap "Tutorials" and set the Fiter to Beginner. Start there. Work your way through Beginner to Advanced.

Not sure if this video above will help, but it's just a way to crop/position loads of images quickly, with a 'preview' showing - and then export them out in bulk.

If the preview isn't required you could skip the 'group' and mask, and just position them correctly in each layer and then 'Export as Layers'

Often the best way to make it not look "fake" is to have some of the texture underneath show through. It could be combined with some color balancing, deformations, etc. I really have no idea what your expectations are for this.

This company has clients that are mostly in the 50+ age group and they don't like overly fancy/modern designs and stick to something that's surface level, due to which I have very limited choices when it comes to choosing my best works in order to present it in my portfolio for future opportunities.

You can still fill your portfolio with personal projects. A lot of potential clients appreciate seeing self initiated projects because it shows the breath of your skills. The general advice is "show work you want to be commissioned for"

To quite honest, a lot of projects you might get paid for are often not things you want to showcase. At least that has been my experience. Even with freelance projects where you control flow. The client always chooses the most hideous designs, colors, images, and they're paying so you have to do it. So you just do it and cash the check.

Then you work on your own passion projects that you showcase.

I think this has been the case for a great majority of designers... unless they're working for a Madison Avenue agency.

Often you get stuck doing brochures for commercial real estate sales. Not great design work but they have money and you get paid.

But I digress...

I do, but I hate what I do in this company (thank god I'm on my notice period tho) they just have a very narrow scope of work when it comes to graphic design such as ID Cards, Certificates, Brochures, Flyers, Web Banners & occasionally Mementos/Logo design and nothing else outside that such as Branding, Mockups, etc. that's it and I've been doing just those 6 types of designs for about 17 months now (can't blame the company, that's just what their clients require from them) and I'm so burnt out to the point that I don't if I'm losing interest in graphic design as a whole or if it's just because of doing certain types of designs over and over again.

And this lack of interest has made it's way to me even outside of work now where it just doesn't motivate me to focus on personal projects anymore

I have a friend who, while in a more senior position, still get this. He still manages some personal work even if it's few and far between.
The way he deals with it is to optimise his workflow to the extreme. He knows about scripting, GREP, plugins, templates. Not a minute is wasted in things that are automatisable. It has become a challenge in itself
