So, I'm still in high school, and I'm thinking about a career in either graphic design or video editing. To those currently working in graphic design, do you believe it might be wiser to do video editing instead? My concern is from the possibility that by the time I finish college, AI may have advanced to the extent that graphic designers are no longer in demand.

Graphic design or editing are both lucrative fields, and you should start with whichever you enjoy more.

While it may seem like the two fields are different, traditional graphic design skills are essential for video production. You still need to understand layout, composition, color theory, etc to produce aesthetically pleasing video. Thus, I'm not sure the two are easy to separate. In terms of a career path, I'd say video production has more overall potential than graphic design merely because there is an enormous demand for high quality video content. But as I said, videos will still require those design skills. A.I. is quickly changing every sector of the creative industry; the people who embrace the tools, learn to use them to: ideate, develop new workflows, reduce bottlenecks, speed up production time and deliver quality results faster, will likely be in demand.

I stand by it though. - With the speed that video and design can be produced these days, I think it's important to be skilled in multiple fields. I work/manage an agency with only about 8 design/artwork people in it, (plus sales etc) but if I was to employ someone new, I'd need to find someone that could work multiple fields...

You can try adding a Transform > Warp... with the "Flag" preset to start. Then push it around using Liquify. (Be sure to make it a Smart Object first, so that the effects can be easily tweaked or removed.)

if you scroll down you'll get the seasonal ones. Those marked "spring" and "Summer" will contain leaves (not sure for moss) and the winter ones stuff like snow etc, among purely drawing nibs.

These brushes are free as long as you got an active subscription

You can still try them on, and see if they fit

I barely use those kind of brushes so I could tell you how realistic they are

If pressed, it's still easy to create your own from altered photos, so you'll be sure they are realistic. if you tweak the scattering, you'll also get a good random filling effect out of those, paired with the colour variation. Just a word of caution, if they are too big or detailled, they can take quite some space.

Yes, it can be restrictive sometimes because you may need to ask a question in the flow of the convesation (and honestly that's OK, there is no hard rules) it's just that sometimes there are a LOT of questions! In those cases, I personnaly concentrate on answering in the questions channels. And also yes, Time zones. But while most mods and the PS team are based in Europe (eastern and western) and the Northern America (I don't think we have many people from the asia pacific area, or Africa), the users come from all over the word, and since it's a community thing, everyone is free to answer to anyone's questions.

Export to what format? SVG?

Edit > Preferences > Export... Options > Use legacy "Export As" and tick that box. Then SVG should appear in the Export As window.

Then you're probably not running a recent version of Photoshop. And I don't know what to tell you.

Also, the objects that you're exporting need to already be vector objects. Simply exporting to SVG doesn't automatically convert everything to vector shapes.

If SVG isn't showing up in "Export As" then Legacy Export As needs to be turned on in Preferences... If that legacy option is not there then its not a current version of Photoshop.

That's probably why. Pencils has no anti aliasing, you could use a brush but you would have a slight blur around, because it's a pixel tool. I would use the pen tool which is a pixel tool

It's also easier to tweak with the nodes and handles

You need to choose "path" in the drop-down menu, and a stroke and no fill...

check the menu on top to see the settings I've used.

If you want to draw "free-hand" you can choose the freeform pen tool instead of the regular tool (it will look more organic, as the pen tool tend to be too perfect sometimes)

For that line with generative fill, sometimes it's just a question of feathering the mask that comes with the new layer, if you make the original selection big enough, you have enough leeway to add a 2/3 pixel feather (in the properties panel) and blur the line without sweating it.

I would suggest to unite a couple of numbers into one symbol keeping all significant specific of each number. For example here I’ve combined 3,7,6 and 2. Also put some colour to some/one number to make it more interesting

It’s just a quick example. There is a huge space for experiments

Using numbers, try to give the overall composition some shape. Try also using different fonts for different numbers

It could be drawn by hand or some combination of techniques. Its a small image and difficult to see. A font was probably used for the text. They probably created one "wing" and then duplicated and mirrored it so that it was symmetrical.

I would draw them with the Pen Tool.

you could do several things. You can search for those eywords at images.google.com and/or Pinterest and others. You can do some Logo Builder sites as a startingpoint. Normally those sites and the Logos are not very good, but for inspiration and a stating point to work with it should do. Also you can use GenAI like Adobe Firefly to get some inspiration on doing some Logos. Have fun.

You cannot really write in a diagonal unless you write a text on a path. But what I'd do is write your text normally and just rotate the result with the transform menu.

you will always see text in a circle in tutorials, because to do text in a straight line, people would immediately think about rotating the text first

Because you didn't pay attention to the fact that when you hover over the BLACK arrow (the path selection tool) the cursor shape changes. It dispalys 2 BLACK arrows left and right for moving the text along the path, and two white/transparent Arrows for fliiping the text along the baseline)
