Remove the back of the box, just the front part, then send the question mark at the back, overlay the front box, then put the back part of the box over in front of the box, then send it back, that was it shows the question mark coming out of the box sorry if this sounds complicated im not good at explaining lol

coming in with a question about scaling, re-sizing, distortion and object in an image file

how should I be going with increasing the size of the deck box without losing any quality?

Distortion, scaling doesn't produce wanted results

Unfortunately there is no way you can scale and resize a raster image without loosing quality unless is a vector. Try to convert the layer to smart object but i can't guarantee any good result!

When you create labels, it is the best to start with smart object, which would be easily changeable.
For example, in this box, rectangle smart objects would do the job with warping it, masking etc.
You could always use that project also for some new jobs.

At beginning i was not using smart objects, and I would end in similar situations.

Photoshop is primarily for the creation and editing of raster/bitmap graphics. Illustrator is for the creation and editing of vector graphics. Generally, I would create my poster layouts in Illustrator. I would bring in my Photoshop composites into Illustrator and do the layout design and typesetting there. This will make it easier to generate files that are print-ready for delivery to the print shop.

Photography, posters, flyers, advertisements etc. in Photoshop.
I do not see why Photoshop can not make logos as well.
Photoshop for realism.

Logos, vectors, icons mainly in Illustrator. (Can do things like Photoshop, but Photoshop beats it with easier use of effects, it has a brushes for it's job.)
Illustrator, for mentioned, has better tools, vectors are easily resizeable, that is best advantage over Photoshop.
Illustrator for non realism. (Maybe you can, if you are a wizard and a geek to create some epic wallpaper in Illustrator that will not look just as a sketch, digitalized, for web, cartoonish, or whatever word is to describe Illustrator end results, but that will take so much more time then Photoshop.)
Illustrator is making all from zero in an very complicated software.

That is what I experienced, I used all 3.
As I do not feel like selling logos, vectors and icons, I am using Illustrator occasionally.

If I could move Shape Builder tool to Photoshop, I would then tell that Illustrator is not necessary software.

If you don't understand when and why someone would use Illustrator over Photoshop, then I don't think you actually understand the difference. Its more than just for "non-realism". Illustrator is for the direct, flexible access to and control over complex vector objects and layout using tools that Photoshop does not have.

hey peeps, what's the most efficient way of getting precise dimensions every time without distorting the image, skewing it?

Deke McClelland does a "full" course called Photoshop One-on-One which is broken up into three parts. Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. That course is comprehensive and if you complete it and do all of the lessons, you will know Photoshop by the end of it.

Its structured learning. Not learning piece-meal from a video here and there.

Just get really good at using the app, first. Worry about certifications later. That would be my advice.

Being able to create something from scratch or a design brief and follow it through to completion is much more valuable than the credentials. :)

The cert is nice to have. However, you will still need a portfolio of work. And the ability to take direction and create something to spec. These things only come from working in the app regularly/diligently.

Start with the free materials that Adobe provides. Work through all of that stuff. It will give you a good foundation.

yea, it was set to Path. Thanks! And actually I got feedback from the users of my modded game that some of the deck cases didn't have a refined deck box lid line as you can see in the pic

the red one has a little line of shadow on the lid (opening) of the case) while on the blue It's hardly noticeable so I thought I need to add the long thin line of shadow there as well.

@desert portal tried adding the shadow, things went well, just one little detail that's a that I can't get down. In the video tutorial the shadow you made went outwards, I tried to make it go inwards (to the other directions), but messing with the angles couldn't do it.

I haven't created any NFTs using Illustrator but generally, most of the NFT sites require bitmaps/raster graphics, so you'd probably want to export out to a PNG-24. Unless you plan to give the vector art to the person who purchases the NFT.

You didn't really describe what it is that you're putting into the NFT so I can only assume that you're just including a raster image.

Top two panels are my art work hand drawn in photoshop. They were original on a really large canvas I went to downsize the canvas and lose lines and a lot of stuff in the image . I re did the artwork a second time at 400 px 400px so the image has the lines and everything In it. But now it’s like when I upload to sites and try to screen shot and upload it as my pfp it botched .

I mean, if this is vector art, you should be able to export it out to any size you want. File > Export as... choose a larger size. Like 1024x1024. Use PNG-24. That should be adequate. Of course, you could always export it larger. That's up to you.

And, yes, Photoshop does have some vector art capabilities. Just not to the extent that Illustrator does. Illustrator is a much better choice if you're designing with/for vector graphics.

Not sure about what you really want but to make a real font, you need a font design software. Adobe doesn't have one. There are some on the market as a standalone software: Fontographer, Glyphs, FontForge, and also some come as Illustrator or Photoshop plug ins. This is not something you can do with Photoshop alone.
These software transform a letter that you draw (for example in Illustrator) into something that can be typed with a keyboard, not just drawings.
For the actual deigning, all you need to do is draw things! The one you just shared here looks like something done with a calligraphy pen

But that can be replicated either with Photoshop or a drawing software such as Fresco, or Procreate.

This one is not likely to be done with Illustrator (too many details) so the implementation as a "real" font is limited, although in no way impossible

Photoshop is the right program for this and a tablet will really help. It doesn't have to be a super expensive one. A bog standard $30 will do. I know people who don't use tablets at all, but they are in the minority. Who likes to draw, or write with a brick? not many people 🙂

This honestly looks amazing, can you make the shape the same colours as the middle red essence? i tried doing it, i still suck at it lol, it should have the same shape but the same colours as the middle red essence in the second picture

i also need help with another background im creating, here is the official image, and the next is my work, i feel like it isnt matching or exact, i can seperate the layers for you, but can you try to correct the opacity or colours? im really new to this stuff lol

Bottom looks like shape with radial gradient

That falls off to transparent like 60-70%

ive zoomed into the photo and cropped it on the transparent layers, ive just formed them into shapes

the first one is the orbs base, the background transparent colour, then the overlaying darker pink below the layer is the gradients used to detail and add more colour, the second one is the top moon curve, the base and its gradients too, then the last on is the bottom moon curve, i couldnt figure if it had more gradients or not so

That bit out of my area of interest as Im more into 3d graphics and use PS for quick touch ups on textures

i will recreate it, i just need it the same opacity as the offical orb, you can compare and edit it, because i dont know how this works

maybe just edit the opacity only

and let me know which gradients blend in which places

i will give you the layers, you can only change the opacity of them to match with the official image used to compare both, then maybe add the gradients and highlights

Changing one color is quite quick thing to do

Trying to redo this sort of thing will take much more time

And sadly i have only a bit of time for myself

I wouldn't worry about this, you're not trying to make him look like he's sitting in the car. You could try making the text a little more readable, try adding stroke, maybe a different color?

I would say it feels a bit generic. Agree about Wertos that BG and Foreground shouldn't necessarily aligned. In fact, it's probably better if they aren't. Makes it more obvious.
I would darken it more (just as a test, not sure if it would work, or at least I would darken the bit behind him so you get more contrast with the bright coloured hoodie. Make it a gradient maybe?)
I'm more concerned about the text (colour, font, drop shadow, the centering...)

It's a premium/expensive font but there are plenty of free similar ones, just google "Helvetica Neue alternatives" and you'll find plenty.

Helvetica Neue is Good, much better than the orriginal. I can't stand Futura (and Mistral, but that's another story! )

Depnds if it takes you 1 hour to do it. It's not that much if it takes you too much time. BUT (big BUT) It may take you a long time now, but if you're clever enough to build templates, then the next ones should take you minutes

@grim scaffold Imagine your thumbnails, done efficiently AND aestically pleasing, makes his channel jump up the ranks. Then you can raise your rates 🙂 It will be about how much you make him money, not about the time it takes

Also, most times, unless it's a flat surface or a very simple shape, correcting the perspective in Photoshop is hard...

the issue is the perspective of my product is slightly angled, making it look clunky

Then the best bet is to chnage the background, or retake the photo to match the perspective. This kind of background are all 3D, very likely, meaning that you can find different angles of the same background on the stock websites.
