What size is the document you're trying to make?

Twitter's banner sizes guidelines indicate dimensions of 1500 px by 500px with an aspect ratio of 3:1. 1024x1024 is 1:1. Completely different ratios.

So you make a new file at 1500x500 and drop in your 1:1 image. Then you either fill in the empty portions with some other content or you scale your 1:1 image up to fill the space. Upscaling raster images can result in some quality loss. That's how raster images work.

What are you trying, exactly? Midjourney?

If you're using Midjourney, use the "Pan or Zoom" features. That should allow you to make a really wide layout, e.g. 3:1

Yes but you could also try bringing in the image you've already made and add to it. Express will let you add text to it as well. You don't need AI for that.

I am on Upwork, and I barely respond to job offers now. I have repeat clients and I go there because it's easier for them handling their paperwork through Upwork (They're all US based)
But honestly it always been exactly the same as now. They send me emails about new job offers and I have a mini heart attack every time I dare open it. I listed my hourly at $45 and they keep sending me irrelevant job posts (Photographer) and 5$ design jobs.
But I will keep the account, whatever happens... Because I need old clients from there to find me if they need me. Why delete?

You need to stick to your guns, pay wise. Otherwise it's too disheartening. You will always get outbidded by a cheaper guy (or gal!) so you'll never win on the cheap front. (and I know it's easier said than done)

My aim in platforms is to work on repeat. I never take or bid on a one-off, because setting up payments, all the paperwork etc, take too much time and the fees makes it you have to balance prices too much. It's got to be worth it in the long run.

I would only take smaller jobs if I'm invited and if it's something easy and straightforward for me to do

Let's be honest, I am just catering to old clients now on platforms. I don't bid anymore. I just try to get clients directly, it's more rewarding and generally (but not always) clients are more discerning.

It's difficult and it takes time.
I retouch photos, I do OK with that. But sometimes I need more creativity in the work I do. Do I learned graphic design, I learned illustration. I opened my own shop.
But because I am quite crap at marketing the shop never did anything. But I don't delete it. I'm still proud of what I do. When I feel like it I create things. Sometimes I try to sell them, sometimes I just share them without making it an item. I accepted long ago that wasn't what people wanted. I could have been a photographer, I studied for it, went to an expensive school (fortunately I won a scholarship so all good there), but in the end I never had a job in photography, the best I could scrape was working in retail, selling cameras, and I did for more than 10 years

I understood that because I could never earn a living being a photographer, I would never be able to afford the gear to become a photographer. People who got hired after graduation all had parents who supported them and already had decent cameras. I also accepted that maybe I wasn't very good. Or at least not creative enough.
After some time in retail I was so miserable that I reinvented myself as a Photo retoucher. It took me a few years to get to a level where I could start pitching on jobs

I have an XPpen and I'm very happy with it

They're really decent tablets

The thing with tablet is that except if you're drawing comics, big size paintings etc, you don't need a gigantic one: I operated with an A5 size (without screen) for most of my life. It's perfectly suited for retouching work, or illustrator (vector) work.
I now have a display tablet, and I'm ashamed to say that I barely use it with the screen on. It was a nice birthday present to myself and while I don't regret having it, I would have perfectly done without

I used a custom 60s font called, "shangladelic" which was free for commercial use

originally, i started playing around with the font

but then I gave it a wavy effect, and thought it looked cool

I was just experimenting at first

I started off with this

then I centered it

so that they would all be even and be square ish

I assume you added the stroke AFTER warping it, since the stroke width looks consistent.

what I did actually was double layer it

but funny story, I did it on accident

I didnt intend to do it out purpose, but it looked nice, so it stuck

anyways, I rasterized each text layer, merged each layer

then I started experimenting with some of the photoshop transformation options

litterally all I did was try and get creative

because this is the 4th or 5th design that I have made for my team

and I needed to come up with something that looked cool, and so eventually I found the "wave" transformation, and that stuck

I repositioned everything so that it would align neatly because it was uneven, and then I masked the inner layer

added another layer, then a gradient

also forgot to mention, I copied the layer of the black layer

hid it from the view, and then added the gradient layer, and un hid the black layer, and moved it a bit to give it a "drop shadow" and then...

viola!

I showed it to a bunch of people and a 75/100 majority population really liked it

so I pitched the idea to my boss and he enjoyed it

I made this

and they liked it too

and thats how I made my stuff

Photoshop has to remember all the undo steps. You need to go into the preferences/settings to decide how many 'steps' you want it to remember. I think mine is set to 100.

Yes you can in lightroom. You have a whole section of masking capabilities (I'm talking Lightroom classic here, although, there is masking on the cloud version too)
You can mask with a gradient, like Photoshop, or using specific area masks like sky, skin, face, legs and arms (among others) or colours.
Personnaly, I think you can't beat Lightroom masking features with you want an automated the selection (if you want to do it manually, it's easy and more accurate in Photoshop)

This is a known issue with the latest PS. The solution would be to go to Preferences/Technology Preview and check "Disable Native Canvas" but this release was missing that feature (that was an oversight).

The team is aware and it will return in the next release. For now re-install 2023 and check that box to avoid the issue.

Photoshop is Pixelbased so it can be that your Text is rendered and not selectable. Best would be to make it with Indesign or word or whatever and put the Graphics in there. After Exporting to PDF the text will be selectable.

Okay, I will first try to see with just Photoshop, since a part of Lightroom is in it, and then consider both. Indeed, my goal is more about retouching to enhance my photos, which are rather mediocre at the moment.

And no they cannot do "most things" the same. Lightroom cannot handle vector files, neither it can handle video, Photoshop cannot create a catalogue with automatic keywording, face and location recognition, etc... Lightroom is purely Photo oriented, and Photoshop while crucial for photo retouching can do lots of things, but not all.

If you don't need the library management features, you can access all the lightroom features in Camera Raw within Photoshop if you'd rather stick to one application.

I lost patience with lightroom a long long time ago, mostly due to speed.

That and tethering, which if you need it, you'll know.

I learned this new technic from Jessica's tutorials this week, she had a Behance stream about her new brushes. In short is it how to paint with bruches with a pattern pallet. You can use both Pattern Stamp Tool or Mixer brush with Jessica's pattern technic.

They contain metadata if you forgot to delete them. Particularly camera data and possibly location if your camera enables it
If you have Photoshop, you can easily check by opening the file and go to file> file info
Personnaly I find it safe to assert your copyright on there, and make sure that sensitive info (which are your choice to include or not) are reviewed and deleted if needs be

If you don't want anything and do it quickly, right click on your file thumbnail and choose the "detail" tab
once there you can delete everything by clicking on the blue text

that is on Windows, no idea on a Mac, but I assume it will be similar

Info shared in the metadata (the file info bit) can be found in a Google search (hence why I copyright the files PSD but also JPEGs and PNGs when I send them in the wild)

In most of digital cameras even smartphones can you select what meta data you will share, like copyright and camera meta data in some cameras can you select if you will share geography date if you have GPS completable camera. Firefly will also ad metadata to your images. But most of the time is it good idea to share metadata, you can always see that data is storage in the image before you send it. You can also edit your metadata in Lightroom and Bridge if you will do that.

I don't think you can remove the metadata in Photoshop, unless you manually delete all the fields. That's the thing that Lightroom does better.
this is what the file info shows for my camera, but these things cannot be deleted within Photoshop
But there is no other crucial info that is written inside if you don't put it there first
Your camera may have more features than mine, and show more info

If you want to delete everything, use the windows option I shown you, of use a specialist software like this one
