I don't know how to make the bottom piece (one in red) have the same colour like the top piece (one in white) does anyone have any advice on how I can do that? I tried using Solid Fill Color and Hue Saturation with a Mask Layer, but it didn't give me the desire outcome like the third image.

first, I would try doing exactly what you said - warping them. enter transform mode, right click the object and select "warp". then you can use your mouse to drag around parts of the image

there are tools to extrapolate what theoretically SHOULD be under an object like that in a video. content aware fill, creating a clean plate overlay, clone stamping, etc. but if an image like that is baked into a video, there really is no way to actually remove it and see what's underneath. you said it was covering a watermark in a video? and I tak it you want to see the watermark underneath. a rendered video file, you wouldn't be able to extract that information. You'd need the project file where the sticker was originally added.

Not sure you can do that in Photoshop to be honest (or will have to do it frame by frame)

Adobe Express can remove the background for videos if I remember weell, but will only function in atomatic mode (with very few tweaks available). Otherwise it will be down to either After effects or the good 'ol Premiere

Hey all, having a peculiar issue with photoshop atm, any time i go to change something about a layer whether it being opacity, layer styles etc, the dimensions of the image just go blank entirely

It's strange but I suspect your other layers are set to a different blending mode than "normal" OR that your get a specific Layer style applied to them that make them react to a white background differently than with a transparent background

What I would suggest is that you disable your layer styles and/or blending modes (revert back to normal) and see what it does

also your layers are smart objects, so maybe the way the smart objects are built, and then embedded are the cause of this. What you could do if that's the case would be to rasterise them (save a copy of your file first and work on that copy, just in case)

Once you know where the issue is, you can take corrective measures so it works for you

If your effect is only working while there is a white BG, then you will need to select the pixel content of all your layers altogether, fill that selection with white on a new layer, place that new layer underneath the rest, meaning the background around the drawing will still be transparent, and save as a PNG

Let me tell a bit more about the situation.
I have turn the image into a smart obj.
Then I use free transform to scale the image.
Unfortunately, the anti alias button is grey out.

I don't think there's a switch or anything to turn on anti-aliasing in photoshop. 🤔 it's not like 3D software where it's rendering the visuals.

my guess is going to be because you can't alter a smart object. it is kind of a frozen layer. for example you can't paint on a smart object directly, or use an eraser on a smart object. not without rasterizing it first. and so without those functionalities, the anti-alais is turned off.

if you create a new layer that isn't a smart object, anti-alas will be on. or if you double click on the layer and go inside of it, then inside that smart object is the live layer, and there too you will is the anti-alias is available.

free transform you can do with any layer whether it's a smart object or not. when you convert to a smart object though it presevers your layer in a capsule so it isn't altering the pixels of the original image. so if you took a layer that wasn't a smart object, transformed it, then transformed it back again, it would lose quality and because altered/warped. if it was a smart object, you can transform it again and again and again and never lose image quality because the actual original image is stored, unaltered, inside of the smart object. therefore things like anti-aliasing simply don't apply because you aren't actually altering the pixel structure of the original object.

However, even after scaling a different image as a smart object. the lettering and content is blurry. Which as you can imagine is a bit frustrating.
As smart objects are the way to go to prevent distortion.

It's called a pixel stretch. You'll need to select one row of pixels (or at least a very thin vertical line) and transform it (CTRL+T) you'll then see the transform handles and once there you can extend one of the sides.

Her hair gets in the way and I suppose the only thing you can do is carefully select her ear and not any strand of hair. You can do that with a brush on a mask, or using the pen tool. Yes, you'll have to work at a very close up magification.
So personnally what I would do
Create a new Hue/Sat adjustment layer. and make your adjustments concentrating on the ear, don''t mind the rest. Once you got the right colour, click on the mask and fill it with black entirely (edit>fill>black) or if your foreground and background colour are respectively Black and White, then do SHIFT+DEL (it fills with the foreground colour. ALT+DEL fills with the Background colour)

You'll see that your colour changes have disapeared. It's normal since you've hidden it with a black mask

Now all you have to do is take a very fine, hard brush (no texture or anything, juts a standard brush, maybe 2 or 3 pixels in size). Zoom in really close so you have the ear in full view in your screen, and brush over the bits you want coloured with a WHITE colour on the MASK

this way you will reveal the colour from the Hue/Sat layer, but just where you want it

because the type of background determines the technique you need to use to remove the flare.
One technique is to use Generative AI without a prompt works for 90% of the backgrounds.
Second tool is the new Remove tool and select the flare work well in 85% of the cases. This is only two many ways and to remove the flare, but the easiest methods. But make sure to duplicate your image with help of Ctrl+J on pc and Command + j on Mac

Hi @arctic lance Tapping 1 on the keyboard changes the active layer's opacity to 10%. (2 is 20%, 3 is 30%, etc.) I don't think this can be changed.

Depending on how far you want to go with it, you could either just fully remove the actual pupil and iris and then redraw it, or if it's only the pupil you could fill in the area with a solid colour and then redraw it. Depends how far the work you want to go on it is. Looks like fairly flat colours with some gradiation, so shouldn't be too bad to use the regular brush tool to fill in areas.

No currently supported Adobe apps support High Sierra - support was dropped a few years back. I believe it's around 2018/2019-ish where the last versions of all Adobe CC apps supported it (past that, support was dropped within a few of the software in the suite).

You can try a mix of adjusting levels and curves to try and achieve a more dramatic contrast. By also desaturating the image to make it black and white, that should also help. You can manually use a brush to paint in areas, and use blending modes on that to blend it with the original image to try and create more dramatic lighting.

Unfortunately though, as great as tools such as Photoshop are, it's better off to get the shot right in camera. Save it in pre-production and production, not post production!

A lot of those youtubers once they get to a certain level will really put a ton of time and effort into their thumbnail creation. It's the face of the video, so even a great video, with a bad thumbnail, can perform poorly. A lot of psychology comes into play. For example, humans are very reactive to faces and facial expressions which is why you'll see thumbnails often having big closeups of faces, also color theory can really be explored. Afterall certain colors can conjure different emotions in humans when used correctly. For the most part though it's all about being eye catching and standing out, and saturated hot pink will definitely catch the eye of someone scrolling on youtube. They sell entire courses now on just making youtube thumbnails. It's really very fascinating to study. Considering that this youtuber has 1.51 million subscribers, it's safe to say they must definitely put a lot of thought and effort into making good video thumbnails.

ah no, you can't from chrome. you can drag and drop onto desktop to save to computer.. then drag and drop to photoshop

you can copy from chrome, but then make a new document and choose to create from clipboard, or it says something like that. and then the PSD will match the image you copied. I can show you both ways.

that's the neat thing about this world. there's never one way to do anything. there's a hundred ways to do any one task. As far as how did I do it? select color range, apply hue saturation adjustment layer (with selection as mask of course), pushed the colors to extra for visibility, touch up the layer mask with with a brush, and then dial in desired settings.

So you want it to be opaque where the blue and yellow is? In that case, grab the magic wand tool, disable the contiguous option, make sure anti-alias is enabled, and ensure that the tolerance is a higher number (something like 64), and then click the white and delete it. You may also need to expand and/or feather your selection in the top menu via Select > Modify.

It's probably because your canvas is too small.

Imagine trying to display an entire page of text from a book of harry potter book on a gameboy screen.

There just aren't enough 'pixels' in the image for it to be able to make the text clear enough to read.

Nice attempt, but not everything needs to be made from scratch, you can probably find/use a plinth image that already exists. Fossil is also too hard to read. The text at the bottom is too small, the 'tagline' is pretty much lost and the spotlight/shadow benath the watch is strange. - Shouldn't the watch be casting shadow instead?

That's what you use the feather/contract options for, to properly adjust the edges to your liking. You may also need to manually paint over some edges by using the lock transparent pixels option on the layer itself.

Use something like Color Range to make a selection of the black text against the white background. However, instead of using that selection to mask the image, create a black Solid Color adjustment layer (selection should automatically become a mask). As you are masking a single color you shouldn't get the white halo.

If you want to remove an element from all the frames, then you need to select the frames one after the other and select the element and remove it.
BUT: If that element doesn't move, you can "cover it" (for example with the clone stamp tool, on a new layer) and update your frames so that they show the original layer + the cover layer, instaed of just that layer.
If the element you want to remove, you're likely to have to do it for every layer where it appears.
It really depends how your GIF is buulit and what you want to remove. See if the covering tip works for you

Text is notoriously difficult to enhance if the original file is small. Combination of sharp angles and small lines makes it so. You can try a sharpen filter (Filter>sharpen>smart sharpen). If it's critical, I would honestly retype the text (in a more readable font for starters)

Can you show us what you are talking about> cane we seeyjose legs? Don't hesitate to share the whole Photoshop window. It helps determinate the best way based on the type of layers we are working about. So showing at least the layers panel in addition to the image itself helps a lot

It depends on your level. If you only got Photoshop and are just starting learning, you'll need to master the basics first.
Designing clothes is quite advanced (unless you only need to put text onto clothes) so I wouldn't start with that.

You can choose what you want to learn, and then the help sustem will show you directly in the interface how to do it

Since this Hard Drive is starting to reach maximum capacity, I've bought an external one. Now I simply need someone to tell me how I can safely transfer all my photos including the changes I made to them in Lightroom over to my new Hard Drive.

It depends what is the file format you exported in, and also the way you created your gradient.
For example if you exported a relatively large file into a much smaller file with a very fine gradient, in JPEG then you will likely have some compression

Also, make sure you scrutinise your files at 100% particularly when you have such gradients

Sometimes it depends if you have lots of semi transparencies and if the gradient is very small in size and very very smooth. Also depends if you exported in PNG 8 or PNG 24, and if your original was 8 bits or 16 bits (or more)

Sometimes there isn''t just enough bit depth to display a gradient correctly.

Hi everyone, I'm trying to replicate this effect, the grungy texture on the red stripes but I cannot find a way to make it so clean and sharp with the white splatters extrusions and everything, could someone give me some tips?

I suspect this is an applyed texture. Set in a "overlay blending mode, or if I were to do it, I would apply the texture to a mask.
(a bit like you'd do in illustrator)

That would mean taking a textured wall, creating an alpha chennel from that texture and creating a mask from the alpha channel.

You can easily create an alpha channel suitable for that use by using the "calculation" option (image>calculation) which mixes different channels into an alpha, with the possibility of accentuating the light parts and dark parts as well.
Once you got your alpha, but make it a selection and apply it to a solid colour adjustment layer

Just setting the texture to overlay blending doesn't yeld the same effect as the whites become muted

But I guess you can do that with simply applying a texture but you'll need to apply a threshold effect (or at the very least increase the contrast drastically)

you need the whites to be 100% white and the blacks very black

In your case you don't want any mid-tones, just the extremes

I can clearly see that it's a repeat pattern in your original reference, so I don't know how it's been created, I have a feeling that the texture isn't at its full opacity. The issue is that if you don't have the same texture as the person who created the first one, it will be difficult to reproduce exactly the same effect

If that person took a photo, created a repeat pattern, they also probably tweaked that photo in another way, levels, sharpness etc.

It's really a question of trials and errors to achive the exact same result with a start texture that is likely very different

1. Draw around shape, and use generative or content aware fill to 'remove it'
2. Clone in the original shape again and place over the top
3. Grab a tear/rip shape and place into position
4. Use the shape of that rip to make a mask for the shape...
5. Use a soft brush and masking to make the edges softer where the mask is sharp
6. Paint in some fake shadows at the break
7. Play with the colour and opacity and blend mode to make the shadow look more realistic

One way would be to use a Hue/Saturation Adjustment Layer with Colorize. Paint on the Layer Mask for the Adjustment to isolate the color shift only to the desired areas. Also, setting the Blend Mode for the Adjustment Layer to "Color" would likely be desirable.

First of all, hello.
I have a question about combining Photoshop, Excel and generative fill.
I know how to bring variables into Photoshob using a CSV file to change pictures/text and save them in many individual PSD files, but I have a problem with the actions.

I just can't get a given text (prompts) into the generative fill. (Aktion: copy text from TextlayerA and paste it into generative fill)
During the automatic action, only the first prompt is saved and then applied to all the other files.
Is there a way to say in the action code to take @columnname from the variables into geneative fill?

OK. Easy way that would probably work for you is... select the whole image, then at the bottom, under the layers panel look for a circle icon... (split in half)

Then click 'gradient map'

This will likely make your image go black and white or something. Don't panic.

You'll see that it's added a white mask over the whole image. That's expected.

... oh this is too difficult whilst I'm sitting on a train 🙂 - You may have to Google it.

What is the easiest way to create poker cards?

• I have cards in PDF templates and images
  I need to make sure the numbers and suits are still visible. Do I cut the corners on my image and combine layers as a last step or is there a more efficient way? At the moment I am trying to add a PDF card template as one layer and an image as another layer and then cut corners on the image so I can see numbers and suits and then combine? But having issues cutting just the corners of image
