yes do it
aigh
bigger it is, better the fade would be
done
and you go up a lil bit

ok
rn you're trying to create a fire light, it has to be natural thats it
and then?
you close the color thing and you place a new circle with your left click but smaller into the big orange one
you can create the gradient you want
with many colors you want
in the orange vibe i mean
if you wanna make a fire light
always think about realism
and epicness, find a good balance
thats it for me gl bro
you want a little tip foor changeing the size of your brush easier
because changeing the value by clicking top left making you lose a lot of time
take brush on your hand, put the circle of your brush at the middle and you press alt + right click, then slide to the right with your mouse and you gonna incrase the size
slide to the left = reduce
slide down = increase hardness
slide up = reduce hardness
@scenic mason
uhmm
yeah i uh accidently deleted the layers so im redoing it
and the color picker is gone
how do i reset the layout
What’s a WIP?
And that’s true I agree
I’ll test both methods though and see how the algorithm likes them, along with how much time they take and storage
i think he means work in progress
Oh word
Also I don’t really draw I just do design on my photography but it would be the same process probably
i somehow messed the entire photoshop layout up
Window > Workspace > Reset [WORKSPACE NAME]
When adding 100% spot colour, why can i still see the design through it?
You probably want to make a selection first... (?)

where is the color picker etc?
i am ctrl and clicking the picture in layers to select and then adding the spot colour
The Color Picker pops up when you click one of the Color Chips in the Toolbar...
Perhaps watch the video I posted above about it. #❓ask-a-question message
does anybody know how to i get rid of these points since i already masked everything?
If the path is selected, just tap the Delete key. Otherwise, get the Direct Selection Tool, select it and then hit Delete. Alternatively, you can switch to the Paths Panel and drag the path to the trash can icon at the bottom of the panel.
(I assume that's what you mean by "get rid of")
yeah
i dont have these as clickable
Sorry. I don't know what this means. You don't have the the Color Chips in the interface or you have them and you can't click on them?
cant click them
they are like
small
and hwen i click them nothing happemns
I don't think the Photoshop GUI fits on your screen.
Those are to swap the FG and BG colors. The Color Chips are below the small ones in the GUI.
To open the Layers Panel use: Window > Layers (or F7 on the keyboard)
tyy
does anyone know why my brush makes it look like this instead of the thing im replying to
Because you did forget to add the second color
For creating the gradient
- don’t forget to put in linear dodge (add)
The layer
No one say ty to me when I help them I wanna win karma too
hello! Im woking on a project and I chose the size of an A2 paper, turns out i only needed an A3. How can i change the canvas size without the layers becoming too big to fit in the canvas?
Hey, i am trying to recreated this Rectangle Shape with the Sharp edge its -15 Degress / 95 Degress
i tryed to cope paste it, works quite well but the Problem is when i resize it biger/smaller the Angle cahnges aswell...
So how do i get it so its always is -15? and is there a way to add it to my shapes because i do need to use it more often.
You don’t need the sharp edge for that
It would be easier if you do ctrl t -> you select the top square, press control et grab it to the right with left click
ok thanks
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @stark idol
oh right ty
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @stark idol
still looks like that
with the black color on the back yes
but if you wanna use it on a picture it will make an huge diff
yeah but like
it looke diffrent
(dont mind the color)
compared to this
it seems dark
Currently baffled. When i color pick from canvas 1, it shows up more saturated on canvas 2. It works the same when i color pick on C1 and paint on C1. They are the same image mode, no filters or adjustments on top, nothi8ng strange about color picker settings. no idea what is casuing this
hi i have been racking my brain on how i can bend this without distorting it ad i just cant seen to figure out a way to do it other than the warp tool. Is there a way i can bend this around the curve other than using the warp tool?
Prob have some Adjustment layer effecting it
You use the warp tool
A few versions back whenever I did a 'save-as' of a document PS would use the file name and add .tif, now it tries to name the files as Untitled-1.tif, how or can I setup PS to use the original filename and extension? I edit from LIghtroom and I get the original filename.nef but as soon as I do a file ->save-as, I get untitled-filenumber.tif and then I have to rename the document. This I do not want to do. Thanks
Please PM me if you are good with photoshop, can pay good.
is there a way i can take out the design from this mockup and make it a background?
When you insert an image in, you are able to rotate it with the mouse, but only then. How do I get back this funcionality to rotate easily back?
as shown in the picture
figured it out, begginer things I guess
CTRL + T does the job
Check dm
so i have this image and selection box with a text. but everytime i try to save it, it saves like this:
How do I get rid of this massive long box it's saving as..?
how do i crop an image without cropping the whole file
you use a mask
or a frame
i ended up using the marquee tool
yeah lol
anyone know why i cant generative fill anymore?
says i got 900 credits left on adobe
after restarting like 5 times its back, odd
This is probably an easy answer but I'm distracted today so please tell me: I have two shapes. I want to subtract one shape from the other. How ?
kind of but non destructible and not with masks if possible
i wanted to keep my shapes or objects without destroying them thinking i can use one layer as a mask but without actually making a mask on the layer below.
Just to same but with mask lol
yeah i did just thought that was a lot of steps and i would have to repeat making the mask each time i change the shape
If you're using vector shapes choose one of the options in the drop-down menu before drawing the other shape
It will be difficult to do without masks if you're using selections instead
exactly what i was looking for i knew it was simple 🙂
It's not as comprehensive as the pathfinder is in Illustrator unfortunately, although I seem to remember that there is a plug in available in the marketplace that mimics the pathfinder for photoshop
I can look for i if you're interested
for now this will be just enough but thanks👍🏻
What's the word for the style where it's all lines that have a uniform thickness
like these
No. Not a decent one at least. You'd likeliky have to remake it.
mandala
Alain, this is not a mandala. This is a Mandala 🙂
It is specific to the hindu/buddhist tradition
A mandala (Sanskrit: मण्डल, romanized: maṇḍala, lit. 'circle', [ˈmɐɳɖɐlɐ]) is a geometric configuration of symbols. In various spiritual traditions, mandalas may be employed for focusing attention of practitioners and adepts, as a spiritual guidance tool, for establishing a sacred space and as an aid to meditation and trance induction. In the Ea...
I don't know if this is a style in itself, it may be, but not everything has a name
But this is the way most monochrome logos are built
monoline style
Ye, It is hard to say specific word. It is more like design, then calligraphy style mixed, also something of Mandala mixed.
So I wrote mandala in case it is what can give hint for further discovert
@fiery notch
At least in the grand "international/swiss style" tradition
That's more like it
i just asked chatgpt lol
If it's logo making, you can have a look at Draplin style it's very close, also you can have a look at http://www.logobook.com/ where you'll see plenty of examples
A gallery and showcase of the best logo design inspiration in the world, featuring over 5000 logo's searchable by designer, shape, object, and style
YES THAT
THANK YOU
wow yeah, i tried MidJourney describe but it didn't get it, forgot chatgpt can do that
Oh, I read that at first and thought you were being super anal about the uppercase 'M'.
I'm not [grammar] police!
🚓 🚓 🚓 🚓
Manadalas are very specific, it's a religious thing. I know those kind of designs you see in colouring books are called mandalas too... but in any case, they do not contains mono lines of any sorts, are always in colours (that's the basic tenet of a Mandala)
I have KRS one in my head now 🙂
One bit of software I've always left untouched is AfterEffects, but a client is asking about editing an existing video a colleague created a few days ago. He's off today. I'm currently installing AE, plus the project files.... famous last words..... "how hard could it be?"
...
See you in the Video dicord server shortly! "Hey, I'm a noobie! - How do I open a file?"
the reason why i said mandala even after it is mostlyy circular and traditional,
Many people use same scheme to design objects which are not necessarily exact.
So I thought search mandala ____ will do the job.
like see
mandala ninja satar.
I never really got on with After effects, I measn I can do things, a bit of 3D on it and everything, but it's probably more a question of me not really enjoying animation in general. Even in 3D. If I read something about Blender, I always skip animation, because I couldn't care less
I knew that "monotype" was a thing, but I didn't think of "monoline"
Same with me 🙂
I ran into so many problems when I had started it.
Even rage quitted it for 8 months straight.
then was forced to use it because i needed an animation
I generally know "people" over "styles". You tell me the liberty bell logo and I answer Draplin or Paul Rand. I never think of a particular name for a style
But that means that colleagues ask me about a particular logo and I know the name of the designer 😂
I would kill it at Graphic designers pub quizzes if there was such a thing. Completely useless knowledge
i call everything Pattern.
If it's simple stuff I can still help 🙂 It would be a good reminder!
hello, i have a problem
when i'm importing a .png on photoshop
the background is black
is that any way to solve it ?
i am copy pasting it
do not copy paste. the copy pasting will not be transparent
Click file>place embedded>select your photo
Or if this is what you begin with, click file>open.
ok ty very much !
Is it me or transfer have problems in newest update?
What do you mean by "transfer"?
OH OK in brushes then 🙂 What hap[pens? I haven't seen anything partcular on my end
So normally I have these options turned on. And normally it's give like faded edges but it stopped
I see you don't have the pen pressure activated. Do you use a pen and tablet? what happens ifyou change it to "fade" for example?
I'm on tablet with screen and it should check my pressure just fine. Fade is kinda okay but it's not the same effect
OK< just try something. Either unplug the tablet and plug it again, or, if it doesn't work, unplug it and plug it in another USB slot
It happens sometimes
I'm also seeing that everything is at 0%, so basically that says that transfer doesn't happen
Try pushing it a bit to see if it makes a difference
Funny thing cuz it's work just fine in Clip rn. Few patches back I just turned transfer option and front and back was faded and all was good to go. I found picture how it was.
This is what I got and it works as intended
Yeah reseting did nothing
Try also - just in case - to enable/disable this one in the top menu
It's for size, but it's meant to supercede the brush settings options. I've heard that people had trouble with it messing with pressure and tilt
I guess it's pressure problem. Eh. Thanks for help.
NO worries! Just make sure you have your tablet drivers in order as well.
As I said clip doesn't have any problems with it. I will probably just backroll few patches of photoshop cuz I'm really tired of working with new version. Anyway thanks for help.
ye lol
i was feeling something is off with it because whenever i painted highlights they were always noisy
its been 4 months
so ignored it.
but now i feel brush is okay. again.
I can clearly see each pixel in the screenshot so I'll say low PPI
i sometimes still feel it though
yes, but with same ppi it used to look different
but its been 4 months
i have had this problem since 4 months
i tried to search forums
its at 72 ppi.
Is it one of your brushes or one you dpownloaded from somewhere else?
its soft round brush but it was less noise before
hm
1920 1080
yess bro
This is simply your problem then. - you're zoomed in too close.
I think something is wrong with it you are right
nothing is wrong with it.
Not directly a PS question. I am using adobe acrobat to access some PDF files.
SOMETIMES for some reason I get this weird popup window with a stuck loading circle. It does not go away. I can't even close adobe acrobat. I have to kill it with the task manager. Any ideas how to fix it? This is only happening since the recent update. The previous version was fine.
I already uninstall and reinstall multiple times.
i am very sure with same settings and everything it was very smooth
It's like you getting up off your sofa, and then walking to the TV and smushing your face against the screen, and then proclaiming "everything looks blurry and I can't see what's going on!"
mine used to look same
ummm
Can you please provide another screenshot with the whole screen in view?
I'll then replicate the same zoom, canvas size etc and we'll compare them and decide how to proceed.
That is the weirdest possible way I've seen someone draw a blurry dot on a PSD.
- Why have you created a saturation adjustment layer and then masked it to make your dot?
(One on the right is yours, and the one on the left is mine)
Is your issue only from when you're working with masks and adjustment layers?
The reason why I have done using shadows layr because this is when it causes trouble. Whenever I draw highlights or shadow. They are noisy. The highlights look even more terrible than this. This actually is a serious issue but I have been ignoring it for 4months now. It did not use to do same before. It happens everywhere. Adjustments layer, and brush both.
issue is, the soft round brush jitters noise around it. Which makes everything look terrible.
I searched forums and everything. Atlast had to give up. The spacing, opcity blend mod, everything is same. I did not even change it.
with same canvas size and exactly same brush settigs. It looks very bad now.
in short, earlier it was like drawing with smooth pen on paper and now it is like using wax crayon on cardboard
there is no smoothness.
reason why i ignore it too long because i was not required to use photoshop much. I was just editing videos and not using photoshop much.
but now I remember how much of big issue it was for me. For many days i could not solve it. It was even hard to believe if this is issue or just problem with my eyes.
What's the end goal anyway? what sort of images are you trying to make?
but trust me, there is definately issue with my brush and I had noticed it right the day after it happened.
This video is 'my' dot. - It looks worse than it is, since it's a screen recording.
It cause problem when I have to paint highlights and shadows. 1, I draw vector shapes then add texture and create it a 3d or real life thing. The brush bleeds my shadows and hence is issue.
second when I edit photo and add highlights of sun or sknething, then they unnecesarrily go into shadows
It can be prevented by mask i know but
Brush bleeds.
i found no solution.
its like a a wax crayon on carboard now
some pixels empty some fully colored with ton of bleeding and noise
it is smooth round most general brush.
i see video
Yours is like SILKY.
With every pixel smoothly colored from black to grey
but mine is like density
high density at centre
and low density at end
do you get it what i mean?
(on a conference call - back later)
alr. Thanks
hello, how can i add this 3d line effect?
On a layer with that shape, use the layer effects: bevel and emboss
@river otter I answered in #💬chat-general . If you can avoid posting the same thing in multiple channels that would be great 🙂 Photoshop questions belong to this channel... No worries though
how do you outline a person or object in photoshop?
You would first cut it out (automatically if possible) and then add a stroke around it.
gotcha, tyty
When will there be another series of DCCs? Is there s better place to ask this question?
I'm not sure who the correct point person is to ask about this.
Hey Guys, I cant found the AI-powered Denoise in Camera RAW. What am I doing wrong? I thought this was included in Photoshop 2024.
If you don't have that feature, you should check the Adobe CC app and force it to check for updates.
Thank you. I have already seen this article. Unfortunately, I don't see the option in the Camera RAW window. Got the V. 25.1
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @ripe quest
I´ll check the beta version now
Camera Raw is updated separately.
I know. Got both in the newest version 😦
You're on Windows 10 or 11?
Wait. What file format are you using? I think that menu will only show for RAW file formats.
https://blog.adobe.com/en/publish/2023/04/18/denoise-demystified
Try a raw file, .e.g. CR, DNG, etc.
What size is the canvas / object on the canvas?
object is
not that big
the wiords "BIRDS" "NEST" "STADIUM" are not grouped up it wont let me
It usually happebs when either you use big canvas sizes or when your pc is not strong enough. Or Both reasons.
alr
That canvas size is big. Something around 1920x1080 is enough, unless you have any special purpose
you can clos extra apps and keep only photoshop running.
You can also increase amount of memory photoshop can use in preferancea settings.
5000 pixels at what PPI? Also, are those vector objects? Vector Objects with lots of anchor points could cause some lag. It's very difficult to diagnose based simply on the provided information.
i think its just a combo of bad computer and too much
cos i got a bunch of other artboard too
- My GPU is Nvidia 730. Would it bottleneck large psb files? Because even my 2.1 GB psb files crash my PS after 99% of being rendered.
- If so, what would be the average Nvidia GPU right now for PS? Future proof for at least the next 5 to 7 years.
- Would a GTX 1650 be futureproof?
but i need em all for the project for college
Yes. You might have problems with that GPU. Its old and not very many resources, e.g. only 4GB DDR3 VRAM.
@ripe quest so, would 1650 Gtx suffice for the next 5 to 7 years?
The GTX 1650 is already 5 years old so, probably not "future-proof."
It might be usable but things are changing very fast in terms of GPU resources required to run certain apps.
@ripe quest i won't be doing any video editing. I'll only use it for PS. So, what do you recommend, Sir?
You can get an GeForce RTX 2060 for like $200 USD. You can get the 12GB version for under 300.
Even those GPUs are not new but should be adequate for general purpose computing (and computer graphics workflows).
Thanks for the support@ripe quest
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @ripe quest
I'm trying to isolate a layer so I only see that one, how do I do that? going to select -> isolate still shows everything
Alt click the "Eye" icon on that Layer.
Thanks, that works. Other question - I have part of my layer selected and I need to flip it vertically, how do I do that?
You want to flip just PART of a layer?
You may need to cut and paste it into it's OWN layer and then flip it.
...
You could always merge them back together after you've repositioned it
Problem is my layer is on multiply mode so doing ctrl+j on the selected area gets me double the result, extracting the selected area also gets rid of the selection so I cant get the same exact part to delete it
you want to flip part of a layer which is on multiply mode?
yes
just do adjustments and set it back to multiply mae
mode
also, if you want tp recover last selection, press ctrl+shift+d
it will recover last selection back.
additionally if you ctrl+ click on a specific layer's icon(preview) in layers list. It will take a selection shape of that layer.
Thanks I got it, awesome
Great! I hope you learn it all fast. As beginner I also got confused with everything. You should learn about layer masks if you haven't yet.
Yeah I've used substance painter a lot so masks are pretty familiar, only problem I have rn is photoshop being incredibly laggy all the time 😭
Hey, very quickly, how do I make text go in a circle
This is a quick Photoshop tutorial which will show you how to type a text in a circle. You first have to create a circular path; then use the text tool to type.
I will show you two different circle text. One that goes in a complete circle. The other Photoshop text tutorial which is a circle type which is used from emblem style.

Livid you can make elipse by using shape tool and selecting circle/elipse
Use the Ellipse Tool in Shape Mode and assign a Stroke and no Fill Color....
Please post these sorts of requests in the #💬chat-general channel. Briefly describe the project and if someone is interested in working on it, they will probably reach out to you.
Should I buy the 16 Inch MacBook Pro M3 Pro or 14 Inch MacBook Pro M3 Pro? For some context I will be using it for graphic design and apps such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. I am at home 90% of the time and the only time I would be using it outside, would be when I am at school. Either way, I will be using a 27 inch monitor whether I get the 16 Inch or 14 Inch. I am also running a business. What do you guys suggest?
Don’t get a Laptop then
Get a Mac or a Mac mini
I want something portable
still if your 90% at home on a real screen i cant recommend it
you can get a nice mac/mini and a cheaper laptop for when u want it
Hello everyone, I would have a question wich is how I can use my selection as a texture with a brush ?
Try the Mixer Brush. https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/painting-mixer-brush.html
Im trying to draw a custom shape with straight lines by clicking, with each click making a new vertex. However, the Custom Shape Tool only has presets, and I don't know how to draw like described.
Use the Pen Tool.

Guys , someone can help me cuz I got a problem about the color pucker, how did I fix it
Go to Image and set it to rgb
Is it on greyscale
Or wrong layer
Wait just saw footage again
It seems to work normally?
It's an ongoing issue. - should be fixed in a future update.
I see thank everyone
How can I make that circle type of text.
one way is to write , then transform>warp
Hi! I'm trying to recolor something. It's white and I'm using a solid color layer mask to make it gray. When I apply the mask, the gray is a much lighter shade than what I've chosen. I don't know exactly what to do with it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
The blending mode of grey is on Color. Change it to normal.
It's because your blend mode is colour. This blend mode applies colour on top of a area that already have a tonal value and respects that to nal value, it only changes the colour, not the "light". That said, you apply a solid colour in colour mode
On normal, it takes away all the detail of the image. Is that OK?
so far so good, but your "colour" seems to be a neutral grey, not a colour, so your results will be underwhelming.
In that case check multiply, or darker colour
Or any other blending mode, check them all
Sorry, I took some Photoshop classes in like 2005, so I'm stumbling through trying to remember what is what. 😉 I'm rusty.
Or even maybe in that case a solid colour isn't the right approach. I would also try a level adjustment layer so you can have the right tone
No need to apologise!
OK. I watched some tutorials that did it the way I've been doing it and it's not right, so I'm totally willing to try other options!
what is the RBG (or any other unit) code of your solid colour layer?
One minute, my diabetic pug is whining at the door. BRB.
tag me when you're back in case I'm doing something else
Where do I find that?
it's OK I'm here! you basically @ + the name of the person, like @left tapir
Can you show the image before you added the solid colour? Just hide it by clicking on the eye icon next to the layer
It's so I really see what kind of details needs to be kept
yes, that too 🙂
Double click on it to open the colour picker and read it in the relevant R, G, B fields
Because if it's a grey of any sort, then colour blending mode has no action...
so it's important to choose the blending mode according to the layer the layer that holds it, but obviously the colour underneath (It's blending layers based on a formula, some formulas concerns colours, other tones, other boths. Colour blending mode concerns colours)
I picked a color besides gray.
I wanted to see the grey 🙂
Because I couldn't see if it was real grey or a slightly toned grey. Depending on the colour you choose the blending mode will be different too! (and obviously the end result)
OK, it's not REAL grey but it's close enough that the colour blending mode has very little effect.
Now can you show the original layer like I told you in my previous answer?
Your image is not actually white
So if you want pure grey, #808080 one
you might want to either calculate difference between those colors.
Or Just replace with pure white then apply grey overlay
@left tapir can you confirm you just want the 72/72/75 applied on top of your area but with the lighter lines showing?
@vapid flume Yes that's right.
OK, that's what I thought, thanks for clarifying.
Is that exact colour what you wanted, or is it something "visual"? in that I mean does it have to match that exact colour?
I am trying to find the right and simplest approach but it depends exactly what you want to do
Nah, I just wanted to have options. The gray is just the color I picked last. I've had issues with this on other recolors and other colors.
AS I said, different blending modes will do different things based on different colours, so if you want something that you can try and that will give you all the options to choose from, you'll have to drop the blending modes
hi i just wanna ask, if i just lost my file unsaved in my adobe animate, but i had turn on the auto recover. how can i locate the unsaved files
please answer i lost all my task:(
OK, I can play with it some more.
So, the thing is, you need to mask those lighter lines, and set your colour layer to normal.
I have no idea, I don't use animate. I think you need to ask in the video server
Is there any way to make the image look like a group of circles with a hand-drawn feel?
just worked for the past couple hours on an animation, did test movie and accidentally clicked "no" on the save..my settings are on autosave for every 20 minutes but there is no recovery file. is there any possible way to get this file back? i went in the /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Animate C...
Don't worry. In that case I would just take the magic wand, set it to continuous (so it doesn't pick up unwanted areas) and set the tolerance to 1.
Zoom real close and select those light areas consecutively by holding shift while selecting and once done, fill them with black
Do you remember how you do that?
Yep
Where?
It already has spiral inside it
These are called stipple brushes, so you need to draw with such a brush, or do the dots by hands (Kyle webster has such brushes in the megapack) or you can try retro supply co to find some nice ones
I would like to know how to convert from the original clean outline to an outline of a collection of irregular circles like this one,..!
There isanother method with "blend if" that would keep the lighter lines automatically without masking, but it's a little bit more fiddly. If you want to learn or if you think the masking method will be too tedious for another project, just letme know
There is MAYBE a script that does that, or an action, but not directly within Photoshop I don't think
Thank you!
Even if it feels like a collection of irregular, uneven circles, can you do it with that brush?
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @vapid flume
I'm always up for learning new ways to do things! But I don't want you to spend too much time on me. I'd be happy to follow a tutorial if one exists.
Try to google stipple effect in Photoshop and see if someone has come up with an automatic method and either sell the script/action, or sometime people give them away for free...
I'll find you one 🙂

In this Photoshop tutorial, you will learn how to use "Blend If" like a pro.
This Photoshop tutorial will demystify this scary command to help you create fast and easy blends.
With the techniques that you will learn in this tutorial, you will be able to make fast and easy sky replacements, apply textures to text, create cool special effects, ...
Aw, thanks! Mind if I PM you real quick?
Go ahead but if it's Photoshop tips, then you can ask here 🙂
it's best when everyone can read
- Make your brush with a few rough dots like this. Or download one.
- Set brush spacing and size to match it line.
- Get pet tool and draw your shape.
- After drawing shape, right click and click Stroke> Brush and click ok.
Done
@rapid obsidian THat's how I would do it (I have lots of stipple brushes I created myself) but I think the OP indicated that they want something that turns regular line work into stipple work. So I can't really help here
@vapid flume

@vapid flume Changing the kind of fill seems to work great for me!
Sorry, kind of layer mask.
Hi I wanted to change the grey to dark red and the blue to red by using the color range tool however because there are few small pixels with different shades it creates a mess. Can anyone help me on how to transfrom both of them to solid colors? The 2nd pic is the best result I have gotten so far
Hi, is there any way i can recreate this poster style on a photo?
Excellent then! Good luck with the rest!
You can try two approaches (in addition to actually paint it with brushes in Photoshop 🙂
First try the different tutorials such as this one

(But there are probably thousands of others so check out what looks like you want to do)
In this oil painting Photoshop tutorial, you'll learn how to turn photo to oil painting effect in Photoshop CC with very easy-to-follow steps. at the end of the tutorial, you will be able to turn almost any photo into a painting effect.

If the image is very low resolution with some anti aliasing effects then either the magic wand or the colour range will not be very accurate . If you cannot get something neat with a magic wand with a 1px tolerance then my best bet would be to use the pen tool to manually select the stripes (it's easy, it's all straight lines!) and change the colour using the paths created as a selection
Thanks!
Question, after using bucket tool, this happnes to dark lines I drew:
Is there a way to avoid such a thing?
Bucket tool is usually does that. You can try changing the tolerance of it. It is different for different colors.
Other than that You can use pencil tool for outlines.
Also you can use magic wand tool for selection first then expand or shrink selections.
It is good practice to keep Outlines on seprarate layer.
That way you can push color layer below it.
how do i fix this problem when the lines are not on matching opposite angles? how can i make it that the edges are not seperate and instead blend into one shape?
What did you do?
are youbtrhing to content aware fill it
I erased a Boat with the KI tool
I am trying too let it look realistic
Do you want to erase it or you want to make it like other ones
like the other ones
do you maybe know how to just erease the whole pole?
It automatically can't do straight lines that perfect. You will need to cut a same looking part. Then repalce it with that one.
Just remove this unwanted one completely. And paste brand new cutout.
I tryed but i don´t know how to, if I try to duplicate a part ot the other poles and substitute it with that weird looking one it just dissaperas
To remove whole pole, select it and try content aware fill. Select water with brush
So it fills it with water only
It will take time. As the pole takes a lot part of image. And water is much less.
true
If you want to remove a small part of pole. Select it. Then you can use clone stamp tool and paint its surrounding area on it. After it is removed and only water is there Get a brand new cutout from pole. And paste there.
To duplicate a layer, press ctrl + J
thanks
Wlcm.
Using polygon lasso tool you can do it manually
So background is empty
still on a other layer
I am just bad lmao
Idk man, I am just trying
If you will erase something, it will be empty.
If you erase pole, the image will be empty
You will need to put water in background
If you want water there.
Try Using clone stamp tool. It is easier.
Just Hold Alt and set the host point (water) and release alt. And start painting over pole.
It will just clone water on pole.
Great
Anyone know What exactly Photoshop saves in the Credential manager?
Cause i got together with Adobe support and Micrsoft support and invested over 7 H just to fix this problem but its still there
And know the only thing i could think of is manually enter all things in the credential manager cause on an admin user on this pc it works and there are like 10 more adobe entrys in the credentail manager
but on my main there are those which i send
And i could probably fix it like that but i dont know the passwort that it uses
i opened ps on my old pc and the gradient maps stopped working
can i recover these still
I have this top blue-ish image which I want to make less blue and a bit lighter similar to the bottom color, how can I do this? A layer set to multiply only makes it darker and doesnt remove the blue
Make a mask and change hue slightly for blue part
nothing seems to happen
nvm had to move the color a bit to the right as well
no need it worked, thanks, looks good now

?
guys how do you liquify a text to make it fill a whole shape?
I didn't express myself well, I wanted to know how I could create a perspective effect ?
can somebody help me with this?
it should be an easy task
Use Adobe Illustrator and Envelope Distort.
ok thank you
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @ripe quest
is there a way to do it directly in photoshop?
You could try Transform > Warp... but you will have to carefully drag the cage around manually. It's not trivial. Depends on how complex the shapes is.
its an underwear mockup
Sorry but based on these descriptions of the issue, I don't know what else to say.
ill just try with the warp
I suggest that you calm down and be respectful. If not, you can leave.
uh why does my photoshop 2024 look like this when trying to open a jpeg
Maybe the file is corrupted. Does it open in Windows Photos or any other viewer?
No idea. I've never experienced that.
it comes and goes at random for me
idk why
photoshop is fully up to date
this is a brand new freshly downloaded image from the web
I haven't experienced that with any of the 25.x versions. You can report it to the Photoshop Comm Forum as a bug and provide your system info and an example image. Hey, I need help recoloring something but I can't find out a good way to select it, anyone know a better way?
I try to save a gif but it doesn't save well, I don't know what I have to configure
the error appears in the video
There are many ways to make selections. But since youbare recoloring, why don't you try Picking color range and then edit.
Or color replce brush.
This is photoshop server. You should ask in Adobe video server
my bad
Hi, Thanks for taking my question. Hope all is well with everyone. Dooes anyone know of a adobe photoshop or illustrator tutorial or could you tell me how to create a design over a cutout space in the design you've already made like the image shown in the comment here? https://i.ibb.co/GJKRBmx/Like-This.jpg Thank you very much for your help.
@kind otter sorry I don't know about this specific effect, maybe simply Generative AI? I can do it for you if you want
hey everyone! I tried many things but I don't arrive to recreate this effect
I achieved this from this:
the filters seem unreal, like the reflection on the truck
I know that the effect consists of some bloom, but I don't know for the gobal lightning
the textures are undescriptable but not realistic, unlike my picture
Your contrast is very low
Seems like you pushed shadows to higher brightness
And now both midtones and shadows are nearly same.
It takes aware the clarity of texture.
thank you! i'll try
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @rapid obsidian
I added +50 of contrast, -50 of light tones, +25 to clarty and textures
that seems a bit better like the image reference but still not enough in my opinion
here is a link to review the work, because it's not only a camera raw
damn reviews does not allow to see layers
anyone please tell me if needed I can upload the PSD file
I am on phone so cant help much, still can just keep critize image more if you want.
Just send current both images so i can compare.
ok then thanks! I'm adding photos
what about this one?
Ok let me download them and see. Its hard on phone
Brb
First thing is Sky. Your sky does not have a glow / bloom. The sky of filter is very different.
Second, Your image is warm at half places and cold at other parts. Warm is orangish and cold is blueish, you know already... So make it warm throughout the image.
You seem to have fixed the contrast but it ended up going backwards in progress instead of step closer.
Contrast right now is perfect though.
Third..again. your image has lot of blue. The original art have Blue no where.
I think you should look at color histogram.
Your darker midtones seem to have more green than needed.
ok, thank you! i'm trying
Yo might also want to turn down dehaze in camera raw so its becomes a very little bit more hazy.
for ease i'd like to put my app in english bc it's in japanese, but idk why in the list there is only japanese
but in cc there are several languages
Your whites are very white. I understand the fact that there are white buildings in photo. So even after not looking there, if i notice little white bolts of something. They are very white. While filter does not have any clear white points.
but in the photoshop list there is only japanese to choose
To change your language preferences in Photoshop, open Photoshop and navigate to Edit > Preferences > General (Win) or Photoshop > Preferences > General (Mac). In the Preferences window, click the Interface Menu and set the UI Language settings to your desired language.
I think then it can be changed in creative cloud
You may have chosen japanese during installation.
Yes i think same.
for the bloom I fixed it, however how to fix this§
?
just a preview from the interface
do I need to add more bloom?
and also my way to make bloom is a bit cheap, I just duplicate frame, desaturate, color burn, and merge with another duplicated frame
then I add gaussian blur but I would like to make it as a dynamic filter, I hate working with this kind of effects
To fix tempreture, you need to decrease amount of blue. Blue= Cold, Orange = Warm. Also there exist a Tempreture in Camera raw too. But you will need to pick some parts and only change their tempreture. Since half of image is already warm.
ok I see
To create bloom you can do it however you like
I like to duplicate layer highlights and them set them to Screen or linear dodge. Also applying blurr.
oh ok, so there is no way to make it as a dynamic filter?
There is, try setting an adjustment layer to linear dodge i think
ty

I found a nice way: Photo Filter, and select Orange@100%
is this good to kill cold colors?
becomes
You can try any way you like if it works.
I'm on Windows :(
Its too bright.
Ok soo is it due to the bloom? Should I remove some? or maybe lower the exposure
Less exposure, less spilling
Make Bloom more appealing and more beautiful.
That is the main beauty of this whole filter.
You will have to be very precise with every change.
thanks I'll try
what is the spilling?
Spilling is the bright parts reaching shadows
The line between brightness and shadow should be clear and sharp.
Sorry was in a hurry and linked to an older post. I’m on mac so I can’t check, but I believe it may have reached Windows. Take a look in Filters > blur and look for Live guassian blur.
I don't have unfortunately, on 25.1
ok thanks
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @rapid obsidian
see the top of rooftop
the sky and building are messed up.
That should not happen.
I'm trying my best
you are doing good.
thanks! ofc I'm a beginner
is it better like this? idk which light parameters to change for this
Very better woww
I should have taken RAW instead of JPG
nice to hear, thanks
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @rapid obsidian
anyways I put the pictures side to side
I may be annoying honestly
but this is somehow different
The road and the shop at the right from the reference photo makes it more blue, no?
how could I enhance the Reds? photo filter or just with camera raw?
It's Blue. But not to the point where it feels cold. It is in shadow.
Also there will always be blue in image.
LIttle blue is needed
Photo filter and camera raw both will do job
my shadows are more brown I think
You need to increase saturation of red.
You added too much orange actually
Orange is fine, but it affected whole image
It feels like a layer of orange on it.
Which is photo filter itself
actually I used a neural filter -> color transfer
and I used the reference photo as reference image
I see.
also I use Kodak 5218 2395 in color correspondance
which adds a tiny layer of orange
I think too haha
for the neural filter?
Camera raw is what I use the most for such thing.
here is a preview without color correspondance and neural filter
I see
that's so annoying for camera raw bc given that the bloom lit the picture, I have to decrease the exposure and have a preview in camera raw that is really dark
like for this in photoshop home
I have this in camera raw:
(and yeah this is blue because it doesn't care about the photo filter above it)
Can I chime in in the conversation? (Camera raw is pretty much my thing 🙂 )
Ofc
If you get this blue in Cmara raw with all the settings "as shot" (no additional settings) that means you got something wrong at the shootong stage (possible wrong white balance)
maybe you told it before but I didn't read all the thread
What does the file info says?
300mb bruh
it's in French or Japanese, I can't add english somehow
French or English is OK. Japanese, maybe in a couple of years 🙂
In Camera raw what does the colour says?
no problem haha, I'm uploading the psd if you want to see smtg
it can be different for you, they changed it yesterday. It can be called "basic" in yours
the first one in the list?
Yes, the first one...The thing is, generally speaking, You really shouldn't try to go from a weirdly exposed image, directly to an image with a specific tone
You need to put it back on track first
The neural filter you tried will only work as intended from a properly exposed image, yours is too far off to start from
Oh yeah I see
Btw I'm trying to edit a picture without pixelised layers, so I would like to use only dynamic filters
maybe a first camera raw to fix the image, then the neural filter, and then a second camera filter (in the order of dynamic layers on the image)
anyways here is the file
Yes, that's the way to go, smart filters (in English) Filtres dynamiques
oh I didn't know the exact translation
I had a look at your image (the graded one)
these are my observations right off the bat
see sky of both images.
now, obviously I wasn't there, so you really should take it with a pinch of salt
So What I would suggest is take it from the point of view of without trying to make it more orange or anything, make it with the right White Balance, because it's obviously very off
What does it looks when you change the white balance from "as shot" to "auto"
high saturated reds makes it pop definately do it.
Before starting to add saturation or anything, just make it "real"
You'll take care of the rest later
where is that option? sorry I'm only a beginner for now
It's the same as in a photo lab. You start with a nice even, visually pleasing print, and then you go wild
So in Adobe Camera Raw, take "basic" the first one, and change the "balance des blancs" (white balance) from "as shot" (whatever it is in French) to "auto"
It's just a test
If it doesn't improve, we'll have to do it manually
wait a minute, there is no "basic" or whatever related translation in my camera raw, am I blind?
You got the new version, so it's "couleur"
btw if I have to restart the editing by scratch I may remove the edits such as the bloom, the blue filter..
Yes, you can start from scratch it's better
this is a preview of the picture as shot for reference
but he is close : (
You'll never learn by piling edits over edits
because you don't know what you are changing
maybe pic a different picture too then/
sometimes you need to take it anatically
*ANALYTICALLY
sorry
The preview seem a good place to start, I don't know how that blue came into the picture 🙂
Still too blue and too flat, but that's a better start...
Too blue in the shadows, too overexposed in the lights, but the base is good to start from
From your memories of the place, where the buildings on the right white, or were they off-white? (like cream or slightly yellow?)
they were off white
Were the vending machines on the left white?
no they weren't
Was it anything in that place, as you remember it that was "neutral"? (otherwise we'll take the tarmac)
wdym by neutral?
Basically for the record, when you shooting anything, it's good to remember anything that was neutral in the place, that would be your reference point if anything goes wrong. Your camera does that, it's its job by setting an auto white balance (if you don't know already always put your white balance to auto, unless very specific uses, and definitely if you know what you are doing)
Neutral means pure white, pure grey or pure black
White buildings are good as we can take the shadows as a pure grey
other examples may include tarmac, or sometimes rocks if they look neutral
When you open ACR, and it says as shot, and your image looks weird, that means in 99% that the white balance went wrong. Either the camera stuggled with it because the lights were conflicting, or the set up was wrong in the first place
what we need to do, firest and foremost is re-establishing a correct white balance
You can go creative later
yes so fixing the image and then and only then editing
so, moving on, taking the "auto" as a base. and unless there is an area better for establishing a neutral tone, we'll set the tarmac as a point of reference
Take the eye dropper next to the white balance and click here
There is a risk that it will end up too blue, because as you see it's yellow because it was sunny, and sun has a colour that reflects everywhere
if the vending machines have been white, they would have been a better reference because they are sheltered from the sun
And in that case the reference point would have been the shadow area between the two vending machines
What are your thoughts, personnally, after picking the tarmac?
try the vending machines next, and if it's not better, CTRL+Z to go back one step
Check what feels right for you
We are not in Photoshop territory here, you are in Photography territory 🙂
You can be the best at Photoship, you need to know your photography basics first 🙂
THIS is after picking the tarmac, I guess it's a bit yellow
(the best retouchers are ex-photographers and I stand my ground 😂)
Yes, check with the vending machines and see if it's better
after picking vending vending machines, it's even warmer
Take an area where there is shadow, not the white bits
Either inside the box we see on the right, or the shadow between the box and the vending machine
So that means they are already too blue
the shadow of the right one
it's a bit blue
I think it's better now
the left not the right sry
the white balance tries to counterbalance the colour deviations, so too blue= yellow to counteract
magenta -> green and so on
I see
if the deviation is only slight you can counteract with that
temperature and tint
only proceed with caution: ie only 1 or 2 steps at the time
it can go wild pretty fast
So too yellow, add some blue (slider on the left) and conversely if it's too blue
ok
That acts on the whole of the image, irrespective of the shadows or lights
I think i got the right one
now, save and close photoshop and go back to it after a good coffee
you want to look at it with fresh eyes
😂
I'm not joking! 🙂
hahaha ok
I'm saying that because if you're starting out, you can easily feeling satisfied with something out of excitement, and only see the defaults once it's too late.
yeah that's true
Can someone here help me with sometthing basic in ps?
as per experience, you'll probably go too far the first time. Proper assesment of the mistakes go with practice!
What do you need to know?
can you come vc?
What do you mean its a public sever I don't know how to explain it
first of all, do you need help doing something in Photoshop?
yes sir
I mean hearing you saying it, is no different than reading you telling it (just type what you mean) if I do voice call with you, it only benefits you, not the other people who want to learn. That's I mean
Not a sir, but OK
If you cannot explain it, post a screenshot of the image you got, and if you know what you want in the end, post a screenshot of an example of what you need
You see this white background I want to get rid of it and export this image in png, Does that make sense?
(I'm back)
Yes, you want to erase the white background, that a perfect explanation 🙂
The simple solution is to take the magic wand tool
set the tolerance to 1, meaning that it will only pick the colour you click with it (so pure white in your case)
tickk contiguous so it doesn't pick any white in other parts of the image
when you're done, click on the white area of your image
then go CTRL+X
then go to file> export as> PNG
CTRL+X is the shortcut to "delete"
actually this is the shortcut to cut 🤓
Ma'am there's multiple layers below it and I've already tried this but didn't work for me
do you mind joining vc the for minute hog?
it has to be a pixellised layer not a smart layer
So in that case, you have to use masks. Can you post a screenshot of the WHOLE window (I want to see layers panels, file size and all)
no VC sorry, I thought that point was clear
I cannot sorry I'm in a library
I was asking gaul
OK
you have to pixellise the layer
@surreal current there is a better way 🙂
oh really
@hasty scroll do you still want help from me? publicly?
I just want help
select all your layers (SHIFT click to add to the selection)
it will look like that, all the layers selected
when done, click on the group icon at the bottom
you'll get that
make sure none of your layers is locked
all your layers are now in a group
now re-select your white area as before
bruh
deselect the group
or go to select> reselect
it should have kept your former selection
But if you deselect the group, and instead select the layer where your white area is, that should work
I don't wanna bother, but... about my case I opened the project back, then if my white balance seems to be good what do I have to do then?
If that's good, you now need to identify the bits that you can enhance, without changing the whole mood) as in not being crazy, just make it look like a regular, well exposed photo
Select a layer, not folder. then do it
its not working
so you'll have to play with the saturation, the details panel and possibly the colour correction panel
so details, to increase the sharpening, reduce the noise (don't go crazy with these)
@hasty scroll
effects if you want to increase the texture, or the local contrast. Again, a light hand on this
I did it for you.
bro you seriously think I can sell this
I don't think so.
