When I started with computer graphics, most Adobe things were for apple not PC and were way more $ than I could afford. So I used JASC's PSP. I loved that program and could do amazing things with it. I learned how from PS tutorials. There weren't very many for PSP so I learned how to translate the PS instructions. But after Corel bought out JASC, psp became an awful program and has only gotten worse over the years. So I switched (about 80% now) to PS. There are still some things that I think PSP does better and faster so I do continue to do a few things in it but the more I learn how to use PS more effectively, the less I need to use Corel (which STILL has a horrid memory leak and requires me to go to task manager to force it to stop after it is closed down)

Hello everyone. My name is James from the UK. I'm excited to be part of the community and looking forward to learning new PS skills. I'm a photographer who uses LR and occasionally opens PS to fine tune an image. I recently did a corporate event where I was asked to take head shots of over 70 people as individuals and in groups. I used a white back cloth which at times not as wide as the group of people. To create a white background I used PS to fill the space between the white back cloth and the final image. I found the motivation to deliver this project helped me learn these new skills. If left to our own devises I tend to just procrastinate and just potter around in PS. I need some project to force me to learn new skills. I'm hoping this channel will help me develop my basic PS skills. Great to be a part of it.

Hello everyone! I am Tanya and I am from Pennsylvania. I tried to get my Associates Degree in Photography a few years ago, but unfortunately i could no longer remain in the classes due to fleeing my home with my children thanks to a real jerk. We were homeless for a while and i just couldn't keep up. I do most of my work in LR as i currently am just doing senior portraits and a few weddings. I realize that if I'm gonna get my work out there i need to do more than just take a photo. I also need to put my own mark on it. And recently, my ten year old and i have been discussing princess and fairytale sessions to put her into what ever scene her little mind can dream up. I think this will be just the refresher course i need to achieve what i hope to! Cant wait to learn!

Hi everyone! Need some motivation to start creating and designing again! Been here since last week and it already has a positive result! 🙂
I'm Jonas (Belgium) I used to work as an Graphic Designer, Illustrator and after that worked as an Art Director in Advertisement.

Since I was planning to move to Portugal (2nd of April) that next step in my life is being contained for the moment :(. When we can cross the border again, I am off to Portugal. 🙂

I am hear to challenge myself again in making Digital, Mixed media Artwork, ... (whatever comes to mind)
And hopefully also get and give some constructive feedback :)
So i can grow my portfolio with some new work.

Hey, I'm Ratmany from Houston! I'm actually a photography major that misses the darkroom, and was a photo retoucher for 3.5 years, and when the financial crisis of the house market hit, got laid off. I got tired and bored of my job, enjoyed the folks there, and learned alot about product and portrait retouching. The company taught me valuable skills that I used to apply to my next job as a teacher. My former company knew I wanted to teach, as I aspired to do something meaningful, give back, and also have fun.
I mean hey, "If you're going to work for the rest of your life, may as well enjoy it right?!" It's my 8th year as a teacher, and I love it. I'm fortunate to be at school where I don't have that many issues, and I learn to communicate and listen to the students. I actually have less problems (discipline) than other teachers, but I thank my former skills in retail, and customer service for that. If you can work food and retail, I believe you can handle anybody.
I went back and got a teaching certificate and now am teaching at an international high school on graphic design. I have a few students that did get their Adobe certification, and am proud of them.
Like @summer copper , I hope to pick up and learn new skills, so I can be a better digital artist of the craft and tool, and definitely a better version of myself to my students!

Hello all, My name is Kellan. I am a 911 Public Safety Dispatcher, Volunteer Firefighter in the town i live in and when i am free from both of those i enjoy photography is many aspects. One i enjoy doing is fire scene photography (yes, situatuons where first responders are working to mitigate a chaotic situation). Most civilians don't understand why people take photos in this type of enviroment but for me .. First Responders learn from other first responders and the situations they respond to.

@hot quarry you can search for references on behance, the Discover tab is awesome and the projects are featured by curators, it's a great way to get started. Also I see many porfolios that show a little bit of the designer's creation process, it's always a good thing to show it so the viewers can get inspired by your work. 😉

Hello everyone, my name is Shar, I’m from Atlanta, and I joined Adobe Creative Cloud to learn a new skill. Covid-19 has created the space in my schedule that allows me to study Adobe. I have the hopes to introduce new and totally different career options into my life. I made the practical choice and followed my first dream of being a healthcare practitioner. Hi everyone! I just discovered all of the Adobe Live sessions and challenges through FB. I started out as an illustrator and accidentally drifted into Instruction Design. Hey everyone, I havent gotten around to introducing myself, but there is no better time than the present. I studied design and illustration while I was in school. I graduated in 2014, and was not able to find work in my area, and started a career working in call centers. After a few years of being miserable, I decided to dedicate my time to working freelance design. Currently, I am a freelance designer based out of Cleveland, OH. Hello all! I'm Melanie with the mid life crisis on top of the ongoing crisis. Quit my job at the turn of the decade to focus on what i was passionate about, a 7 year old small modelling agency business. Hello, Ioan here, from Wales but settled in Rotterdam, Netherlands. When there are events I work in events but right now, as for many others, no work to do. So glad I found this place to make me learn to use PS better, properly, more efficiently. I've used Photoshop ever since there was Photoshop but skirted around some key areas - now I learn its real power as a tool. I appreciate the supportive way in which this challenge is operated. I've been messing around with photoshop for over 20 years, but never done anything super hard-core with it (aka my mom had it on a Win98 tower we had when I was a kid, and I've been messing around with it ever since and took exactly 1 class in college on doing photo art in photoshop).

As for photoshop you’re definitely in the right place. The daily challenges are great for learning all the various tools at hand and explains how they work - and if ever you’re stuck, simply ask in #❓ask-a-question or #ask-me-anything and you’ll get help - and usually it’s quick too!

Hi everyone, I'm new with discord and discover it gradually. I'm a freelance Graphic Designer borned in Quebec (Canada), but I live and work in Sion, (Valais - Switzerland) since 1997. I had not a lot of time to work on personnal projects, or to follow interesting live challenges and videos from Adobe and it's Team, but I recently, with the slowdown of the Pandemia, got more time to dive in and discover the community. I really appreciate the shares made by Paul Trani specifiquely. I love his dynamism and all what I can learn with him. I am Monika from Germany. I quit my job in Febuary and when I wanted to apply for a new one, there was Corona, so I could not. Staying at home was the reason to start something new. As I always wanted to learn Photoshop, I watched tutorials, bought books and tried to manage through the djungle. I have so much fun with this, that the fridge went empty, the grass in the garden grew high and the family started to accept, that I am busy in my working room. I never thought, I could understand tutorials in English, but there is no problem. In the middle oft he last challenge with Jesus Ramirez I took part in the challenge for the first time. Thank you for this great experience. I love it and I continue. Nice to meet you all here.

Hi, all. Cal in Toronto. I knew Photoshop years ago as a typesetter preparing photos for print (guts not covers). That was Photoshop 2.0, then 3.0. Just started relearning and thrilled by all the new (to me) capabilities. Getting a handle on them for myself, well, that's a process. Hello everyone, I'm Nikita from Minnesota, US. The last training op for photoshop was 10 years ago, and it was another 10 years prior to that when I had my first experience with Photoshop. It has come a long ways, and I'm looking at new ways to use it. At my day job, I work with mostly stock photography. For my own art, I work primarily now in sculpture. I really like these challenges as a way of interactive learning. I don't do as well with standard tutorials. I like that this seems more like a classroom setting. Thank you Adobe!

Hello everyone. I am a graphic design and web development student in BC Canada. I love doing photo manipulations using the tools of photoshop. My last one I also animated in after effects for a major project in school. Had lots of fun doing it so getting a perfect score was an added bonus. LOL! I got hurt bad at my previous job after 17 years and needed to retrain. Compensation was taking forever, I started streaming and watching alot of creative streamers, got the adobe suite, & registered for school on my own... They ended up paying so I'm still pretty stoked about that!

Hello. I am Stephen. I live in the UK and am currently studying GCSE Graphics and ❤️ Photoshop. Recently due to COVID-19 have had my exams cancelled. But have turned to the PS & Ai Challenges to keep me going with my passion to become a graphic designer in the future. Hello from Southern Maryland! I'm as amateur as they get, that guy who gets frustrated when what turns out to be a complex process isn't a single click auto function. I own and operate a commercial drone services business, and use the photo and video editing apps frequently, but only using a couple of the functions I've somehow stumbled upon the appropriate use of. A perfect example of the type of user I am is a sad, but true fact. Because I knew how to get what I needed in Microsoft Word and couldn't figure out how in Photoshop, I would use Word anytime I needed to remove the background from an image. One day, I clicked a little longer than usual when trying to select whatever tool is above, it near the magic wand thingy. That's the day I saw that there were other options, one of which being the tool I needed to easily select and deselect larger portions of an image, with the program finally being smart enough to know what I was trying to do. I now have freed myself from the requirement to save any imagine I needed to remove the background from, in MS Word, as a stupid png at a resolution far below the original. I'm hoping to use this Discord thing as a means to have many more of those types of moments. I want to start reducing my rate of stupidity insofar as using Adobe tools to make the photos and videos do what I want. One less incident of stupid per week is my goal. Flighty, I know, but as you can see, you're all going to get to hear all about it!! #BrevityIsForLosers

Hi everyone ! My name is Robert and are from Sweden I'm still try to learn how Photoshop ticks.
Before used I PaintShopPro from Corel to do my photo edit it is still use it the I will do a fast jobb. It's good program to learning as a first edit program. my favorite program from Adobe is Dreamwear have use it sense DW 5.0. So now will I learn Photoshop and the other program in Creative Cloud family. Web developer is first priority, as second is photo editing and manipulation. Most of my photo editing and manipulation have I done in PSP. 🙂 My avatar have I done in Photoshop 2018

Hey guys! I am not new to photoshop. I've "dabbled" in it for 8 years but I've finally decided to jump in and learn more about this program I've been amazed with for years. I have my bachelors but I fully believe in the merit of learning these creative mediums. A lot of jobs I have applied to and want to apply to ask for my portfolio and well, mine is pretty empty. Like I've said, I've dabbled in Ps but I've never made anything I would present as a "finished product"

I've been a graphic designer all my life (I'm 63 years old now) and have used Photoshop since version 2.0. However, I've found that there is always something new to learn and I enjoy sharing tips with others just as much as I do learning new ones.
