Version 2 Challeng2 I ad 150px at bottom and did a content aware fill.
Of Course i cant wait to apply it to one of my photos
My (a bit rough) colorized photo. Learning all the time, this are new skills for me.

Challenge 3 - Colorize an image
Challenge 4 - Brushes
Wicked Witch of the West in glamorous green.
strangely enough i started reading that last night, the shoes were silver, but they wanted to demostrate there Techno Colour at the time and changed to Ruby!
and the snow in the film was actually asbestos powder.... in case you were curious :0
been awhile, PSD challenge day 2?
Brushes Gone Wild
This is my take, trying for a bridal magazine look!
Thank you! I like how this version turned out. These creative challenges are great fun. I've only been using Photoshop for a little over a month and keep learning so much every day.

WOw! @spare badge! Love this one turned. Great colors, I like how your insects look luminescent. the flowers, leaves and branches are well arranged. I just have a quick remark: you should increase the margin between the text and the border (your text is so close to the edge that your first insect has its wings cut off)... Just an idea... Great job!
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @hollow yarrow
@hollow yarrow Thank you for the suggestion! I thought about it but if I keep text bit closer then I have to reduce the size of insects so they don't overlap with each other which l don't want and wanted to keep text size this much to look properly visible. So, I think will change the insects on first letter.
@spare badge : Ok I understand... It was just a suggestion 😉 . So I suppose you want to keep a square ratio? If not, you could think about making a landscape format. With this type of document you could enlarge margin without changing original text and insect dimensions... Here again it's just an idea... I'm pretty sure your choice will the good (best) one.
I had no idea you could create a brush out of just about any image. Some happy accidents when you allow the brush to place and size within reason. Also getting more comfortable with gradient maps and other painterly brushes.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @hollow yarrow
@hollow yarrow I really appreciate your feedback and suggestions! Yes, I am planning to keep a square ratio for this challenge. Thanks a lot! 🙂

Thanks Paul for another fun lesson packed with learning.
@merry stream I really like the golden accent colors in this design! The coloration looks good on everything, though I feel like the contrast could be increased (specifically the dark values) on the hair and blue shirt to make the contrast match the rest of the image a bit more. A levels adjustment masked on those areas would be a quick way to do that. Nice work!
@lucid plover Really great concept with the grass looking texture! I like the debossed effect of the text to kind of look like pressed-in ground. The colors fit together nicely as well 👍
@shut ledge Cool textures and colors on the colorize challenge! I like how the texture kind of pushes the focus to the smoother surface of the face. Looks good!
thank you @bleak fossil
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @bleak fossil
@stuck bolt Great design! I love how you handled the colors in this image. The greyscale strip across the middle is a great touch and I like how you masked it behind the deer's antlers to add some depth. Great job with the masking and composition of the animals too, impressive work!
@naive oar Really cool, nice work! I really like the interesting texture you added around the skin. There's also some really nice color contrast between the portrait and background. My only suggestion might be to darken down the pink shirt overall so it matches the deeper shadows around the arms a bit more closely. Very nice!
@winter tinsel I really like your color palette here, the way the dark muted tones of the eyes, lips, hair, and shirt frame the warmth of the skin looks really interesting. The graphic shapes look good too. Perhaps a bit of shadow could be added under the popped off heart piece? Nice work!
@pale basalt Really loving the way you handled colors in this Day 3 challenge! They have a nice unity to them but also a nice contrast and separation between the portrait and background. The hair feels a touch washed out, like the darks could be boosted a bit, but it just depends what you're going for. Nice work!
started off with a design where my head was in illustrator : then used Paul's brushes on layers with different blending modes to create colour; ending with posterisation
@inner plaza Loving the texture and color gradient on this! Hah, you created this pattern from cereal or a cereal box? Very nice xD. I like the clear separation in color and texture between the portrait and background, and the way you used in the background gives it a sort of cathedral-like design and feel. Very cool!
@slow estuary Very nicely done! I like the added color you put in the cheek and around the eyes to give it an added touch of realism. Nice cohesive looking color palette too!
@dusky wave Really interesting effect! Kind of gives is a creepy inferno type of effect with the shapes you added. Nice work
@spare badge I really like what you did with the colors in the Day 4 text! I could imagine this design being animated for the intro of some sort of Pixar-like animated short. The bright colors work very nicely and I like how you incorporated the insects into the text. The designs at the top and bottom add a great feel to the whole image too!

@bleak fossil thank you! I also like how this turned out but I wasn't too happy with the hair, so I appreciate you pointing that out. I'll fix that.

For challenge 4 I drew inspiration from Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis.
this is a bit different, i made a tree brush by rendering a tree, then used Paul's amazing brushes to enhance my picture. I also made a custom bg. Hope you all like it 🙂
This one kicked my butt. Not sure where I was going. Challenge 4. Needs help, I know.
@young karma: your Kafka cover is really awesome! Love the idea of mixing insect shape with characters and Black and white is a great choice. Impressive work!
Oh thanks! Appreciate your feedback. 😁

Playing catch up! This was fun! 😁
I'll redo my previous work this weekend👍

Very simple Ant-brush (I made it during Photoshop Virtual Summit 2). BTW, I don't have any ideas what to do with the other insects)

Hello friends. I'm just catching up. Here is Day 2. Feedback appreciated 🙂
Challeng 3 Colorize version3 the tree is brush combine of Neural Colorize and Paul's method #1
Day 4: Building Brushes
finally finished PS DCC #04
Wow! @fluid kettle you did an amazing job! So many elements well organized and your cut out are fantastic. Love colors and the bakground gradient too. Really impressive work...BRAVO!
@compact pecan Ooh, really digging that color contrast! The texture is looking great too. I like the subtle transparency on the inner part of the text. Great work!
@fluid kettle This is so cool, really excellent work! I love the background gradient and bright colors of everything. The background textures and hot air balloons are a nice addition to the design. Impressive job masking out all these different images, that must have been quite a bit of work, the composition is looking really nice too. I like how you varied the contrast of the animals, though I wonder if the body of the ostrich could be toned down ever so slightly in terms of lightening the dark tones to fit in with the other animals a little more. Just a minor nitpick really. Great work!
DCC18 04 201204 Building Brushes
@simple idol Very nice! Great work separating out the different areas of color, the jean jacket especially has a very realistic look to it. I like the background colors too 👍
The day 2 animal collage is looking excellent too, I really like the colors!
@dusky wave Really nice job with all the graphic shapes and brush effects on this one! My only suggestion is the dark text against the dark background is a bit difficult to read. It might be worth trying to give the text a lighter color, or lightening the background a bit. Looks good!
@wary swan Nice job colorizing everything! The skin seems like it could be a bit more saturated and the blue shirt seems like it could be a bit deeper in the shadows, but it really just depends what you're going for. Nice work!
@flint pecan I really like the bold accents of red throughout this image! The eyes and lips definitely have a cool look to them. I feel like the purple shirt could have the contrast boosted up a bit in the shadows, the shadows seem a bit too light and washed out for that color. Really cool effect between the colored areas and greyscale tones of the skin!
@eternal mica I love the style and depth you got with this text! Really cool colors and 3 dimensional effect. The insects all look great too and their colors fit together nicely. My only suggestion might be to separate the text from the background a bit more. I wonder if this could be done by darkening down the entire background slightly, and brightening the text and bugs slightly. Just a thought, nice work!
Thank u so much for taking the time to review my piece. Very much appreciated
@bleak fossil Thank you Sam. I actually meant to do that and forgot to do it before posting. You should have seen how wild the BG in V1 was!!!

Not complex, but I now know how to build brushes

Nice! I took that same ant brush class! I learned a lot during the Photoshop Virtual Summit 2.
Thanks for the feedback! The pattern was from my Lucky Charms t-shirt I happened to be wearing the day I first started playing with the Adobe Capture app. How lucky! 😀 Definitely gives a cathedral feel and the slight halo around the head/shoulders was a welcome surprise after partially masking a gradient map.

Hi, how do you DELETE a brush stroke or move it (is there a simple way) and I don't know why I couldn't emboss the bottom of the page. Also, when I tried to make my own brushes they came in as a stamp so not a clear image...

Hello @everyone here is my bug brushes 🦇
Really far behind you all last week so I did a 2 for 1 this week-end.
Here is "Metamorphosis" which combines Day2 (Natural
selections) with Day4 (building brushes). Hope you'll like it.
good morning Ladies and gentleman!
I hope you're doing great. See ya on the challenge
Challenge #4 - Building Brushes: I'm going for a horror movie feel on this one.
Unfortunately, I had to delete the previous post, because I realised I added just the original photo and photo with neural filters and I did not add colourised version. I am sorry for that. Here are all three images.

All, this particular project is important to me. Not only because I learnt to create brushes but also Richmond Park is my local Park 😊 It is the largest of London's Royal Parks created by Charles I, as a deer park. I hope I did good with the brushes and the idea?
here they are..
Any input to my Challenge 4 is highly appreciated 😊
@sonic saddle : Great result! Always good to see pictures of your process. I like the added triangle and the contrasting effect inside it. Nice Job!
@stark palm : tour Rock n' Roll Natural Selection is really awesome. Love lights and colors and how you give depth with characters coming out the ellipse. The musical notes path adds a great touch too. Impressive work!

Simple to Complex #PSDCC Day 5
Hello, catching up..
Day 5
Hey @lucid plover Great design! Love the pastel colors used for the background and your "multicolor swoosh" adds a nice dynamic touch! You did a good job to straighten the caterpillar and you butterfly is fine (love the heart shape of the antennas)... Really impressive job!
Day 2 PSDCC Natural Selections
@safe linden : Very original piece! I like how you transformed the different animals to illustrate your "Story of evolution"... I really love your white limo... Euh no I would say: your white horse 😉 . You've made a great job matching butterfly wings with the zebra too. Nicely done!
Day 5: Simple to Complex.
@young karma I really like the originality of your image to make the background have a lot of DOF so your branch and butterfly stand out. That really works! Also, the complimentary colors are a very nice touch. Nice!
Thanks for the feedback. It's much appreciated 🙂

Today's challenge - Transformation
Day 2! Finally! I love the challenge! I'm sure I'll do better if i do this again ☺️
I'll appreciate some feedback 🤓 The most challenging was placing them in order 😊
Day 5 Challenge
@naive oar : Great take! You did an amazing job and your elements are really well organized. I like your Green and Magenta split toning effect on animals. The large dark soft spot on your background gives a nice focal point and halftone texture applied is interresting. Just to nitpick: I think you should rework the masking of the flamingo leg which seems to get through leopard's back? Nice job!👍
Thanks, Linn

How do you copy part of the leaf to a new layer? Please, and thank you!
There are few ways.
you know I selected the wrong option, using the magic wand tool, I selected extract.
one of them its making a selection a push ctrl/command+ "v"
So I go gray.
Yes, that what I did, but I kept getting gray.
I am used to typing so I'm famil.. with the comamand
getting gray? may you send a caption just to see if its a layer option, or maybe another config.
give me a sec.
don't worry, take your time
I was supposed to select far left but the third from left was selected. I solved the prob now though.
Well, you can go to the "history file" and see if its there an "undo"
The other one its to try a new selection. And reme, ber always try to work non -destrutive way to be able to make changes whenever.
*non destructive - remember. Sorry for my bad spelling
Challenge #5 Fun tools, I need practice.
also, came to my mind just try to invert de selection. Try over the toolbar, using ctrl/command +"i", also i think maybe right button click appears the ooption

@strange zodiac hello there
How're you doing?
doing great, how are you?
Im fine, waiting for todays challenge.
@bleak fossil How're you doing sir?
yeah me too, I've actually been procrastinating on my previous challenge cause of school, but I'm almost done
Morning all! Doing well thanks. Checking out some of the challenges I missed currently, great work everyone, these are all looking really solid.
Good afternoon from freezing London!
The sun is going down soon too 😕
Here's my Day 5. Distorted tree branch and can Cheetahs have wings next to their eyes? 😆 BTW, the Cheetah is my favourite animal because it is the fastest land animal 😊 and gorgeous as well 😍

Also the challenge is up already
Love the colors
Thanks so much 😊 I love pink not because I am a girl! 😁

@eternal mica Loving the look of the Day 5 challenge! The composition of all those butterflies is working really well with how you varied the size, shape, and position of all of them. They stand out nicely against the more subdued colors of the background too. I'd kind of be curious to see how the background looks with a subtle blur, if that separates them even more or if it just kind of runs the background's butterfly design. Nicely done!
By the way, if I didn’t say it already, the contrast on the Day 4 challenge is much improved. A lot more readability now 👍
@eternal mica Ooh, really nice look to the Day 3 challenge! Great colors and texture, it makes for a really interesting style. I also like the strong color contrast you got between the portrait and background. I feel like the bold blue on the body is pulling most strongly for visual attention, it could be nice to increase the contrast in the dark tones around the eyes where they get slightly washed out. This could easily be done with the burn tool, or non-destructively with a masked levels adjustment and soft brush or something like that. Great design!
@strange zodiac No problem, you're totally welcome to go at your own pace. Personal projects are always great, and you're definitely welcome to share any personal designs in the #📝project-feedback section if you'd like
Ill be doing sir. Thanks

@spare badge Great colors, loving the whimsical look of this design! The blue and orange contrast make for a really striking look. Very nice composition too!
@dusky wave Really nice job with the simple to complex image. The masking is looking great and I like the way you made the objects frame the horse. I think you could use the Reine Edge Brush or Refine Hair on the tail to get the edge a bit cleaner and softer, but the masking around the plants is all looking on point. Nice job!
@supple canopy Nice work with all the different elements in this design, the composition is looking good. I also really like the background texture you added. Maybe the cocoon at the top could be a bit darker to better contrast the background, or even shifting the hue to be a bit cooler? Looking good!
@wary swan The blue of the butterfly wings against the orange background make for a great contrast. I also like the addition of butterfly wings to the horse, hah. It might look good to add a subtle soft shadow under the horse's wings to make it look a bit more realistic. I often like to do this with a multiply layer and soft round brush. Maybe something like this? Great work!

@bleak fossil Thank you Sam. Always appreciated. I worked on the area around the eyes, and the eyes themselves. And I blurred the bg butterflies.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @bleak fossil
@wary swan : to add my point after Sam you could also clean your wings mask (I think there is a part of butterfly body still visible on the horse back). Nicely done!
@eternal mica : wow! Lovely color toning on your last piece. I like how you upgraded the textured background. Nice job!👍
@ruby panther : Sky is your limit 😂 A flying kangaroo? I suppose you used puppet wrap for this one? Funny and well done
Thanks @hollow yarrow for feedback, I was little stressed, will fix it after todays challenge

Anyone update your photoshop to the new version? I did and had nothing but trouble with it.
Hi @eternal mica
@plain sable No issues here. I assume you mean today's update?
Yes I'm reinstalling the previous version now
It wouldn't let me save, the layers were acting weird not letting me turn them on and off, all sorts of wacky
@plain sable Hey Susan, howve you been doing? I hope youre safe and healthy. I know your area is having it pretty rough right now. My thoughts are with you. I upgraded to the new Ps the day it was released. Its the first update this year that I had zero issues with. I had an internal computer issue with the brand new computer I just bought. But Adobe support helped me work it out. They were great.
Couldnt choose so i combined a few ideas.
@eternal mica All good here, lockdown sucks but we will deal. I'm not sure why I had so much trouble with the new version. Have to work on my final project for a graphic arts class I'm taking so I'm reinstalling the previous version. Hope all is well on your front...

Today's challenge
@naive oar Really interesting colors! It almost has a bit of a photo negative effect. Practice is definitely the key, once you go through the process once or twice you always have some good perspective for next time. Nice job!
@sweet fern I like the simplicity of the composition for the Day 5 challenge! The butterfly makes for a nice colorful focal point. Nice job on the masking!
Brilliant! Thanks for the feedback 😊
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @bleak fossil
@queen aspen I love the background you chose for this image! It adds a really great bright and colorful feel. The text color and texture works really well and I like how the butterfly makes for some nice color contrast. Well done!
@ruby panther Hah, very cool Shawn! Somehow this is a creature I have never seen depicted yet I'm glad now I have. Could be cool to see a bit of subtle motion blur around the legs to push that sense of movement. Nice work!
@mortal crescent I love how clearly the elements read against the blurred background, it gives the image a great focus. Really excellent colors too! The brightness of the butterflies and caterpillar almost give them a slight translucent feel which is really cool too. Nice job!
@stuck bolt Hah, it worked out well, I like the split look! I especially like the texture you got on the right side. But the textures have a nice contrast with each other. I like how the high contrast in the face gives it some nice focus. Very cool!
Thanks, Sam

@lucid plover You're killing it Fery, loving the colors in this! The bold/bright jacket and glasses have a nice balance to them and gives some nice contrast to the face and shirt. The background gradient and circle graphic are a really nice touch as well. Great shapes and colors in this one!
@dusky wave Rally cool gradient and colored textures in this one! I like the variety you got between the hair, skin, and shirt. Really nice effect within the text too. Perhaps the text could be brightened to pop it off the background a touch more? Nice work!
@vague harbor Very nice! I like the contrast in the colors of the portrait and background. The complimentary contrast of the orange/yellow and purple on the portrait really gives it some nice focus too. Cool effect!
@pliant comet Hah, I like it! Perfect cat related pun, Kiss is always relevant. I like the designs and colors for this. It could be interesting to see if there's a blending mode that retains most of the color but shows some of the texture of the hair under it. Nice job!
Day 6 solid to liquid. Like the chrome on the letters more than on the hair but it was worth a try.
Hi! This is my interpretation of yesterdays challenge.! DCC4?
this is becoming more of a chat board then a daily challenge.
I think I'm going to stop on the daily challenge. Yesterday, to fast at the end and it was similar to a different challenge a while back about having butterflies fly over a city and cutting the wing to make them look 3 d. However I couldn't keep up with his BAM and what was going on. Plus I don't see myself using these in my projects although there are a few pointers that have been helpful so THANK YOU I'm done.
May i ask you something?

Building brushes challenge
@compact pecan Ooh, cool effect. Gives me some Carrie vibes. I like the textures within the hair and shirt on this design, cool warped effects with the text as well!
@eternal mica Great job with the Day 2 animal collage image! The masking and composition of the whole thing is looking really good, definitely a lot of elements to manage for an image like this. Since the text is fairly thin and almost script like it might help to give it a solid color with no stroke so it can have a bit of a stronger read. Maybe even a little brighter with a subtle drop shadow to pop it off from the bright parts of the background. Just a thought. Very nice work!
@eternal mica Very nice work on the "Arthur" image too by the way! I'd be interested to perhaps see the background flipped horizontally to make the light side of the background contrast against the dark side of the portrait and vice versa. Cool effects!
@young karma Really cool shapes and composition to this design! I like the sort of inverted triangle it forms. I think the doubled, more faded effect looks cool, but it might be nice to put those behind the more opaque version of each animal for a clearer read while still maintaining the effect. Very nice work!
@low garnet Great textures and gradients in this design so far! The color contrast is giving it a really nice read. 👍
@spare badge Really nice effects in this! The clean/smooth gradient really helps the bold textures of the portrait pop. The intense contrast of the hair and dress frames the face nicely too. Really nice job with the text effects as well.
@strange zodiac I just saw your designs from a few days ago, just wanted to say really nice stuff! I really like the colors you got in both metamorphosis images. The warm and cool color contrast of the image with the wolf looks great, and I like how you balanced the image with the howling figure on both sides. The bold pink and blue against the greyscale background on the other image makes for a really striking look too. Nice job on these!
this is my day 5 art, added some filters to make it vibrant
@winter tinsel Ooh, nice use of all these shapes! I like the effect of the little bites out of the different letters. The colors have a nice harmony too 👍
@hollow yarrow Looking good Franck! The cool grey tones really make those bold orange tones pop nicely. I really like the double exposure effect too. I feel like maybe the title could be a bit brighter for some more punchy contrast? But that's really up to personal taste. Nice work!
@chilly hawk Great colors and textures in this! You handled the contrast between all the different elements really nicely to get a nice hierarchy in there. The faded background keeps it from getting too busy. Really nice work and great design!
@dusky swallow Great job with the masking in all these images for the Day 2 challenge. There's a really nice balance of big and small shapes, and the composition within the circle is working very well. Looks good!
Day6 chrome/water texture/gradient warp
@young karma Great effects, I really like the sort of 70s tie dye look to it. Normally I'd suggest a different blending mode on the shirt to show more of the wrinkles and lighting underneath, but this works really well with the stylized background and shapes. Nice work with the masking too!
@cyan terrace Great textures in this Day 6 challenge! The multicolored 3D effect on the sides of the text is a great touch to add depth and color to the design. Looks good!
@bleak fossil sure, that's a great idea, I'll try playing with the blend modes to get a better result, thanks a lot for the review again 😁

Challenge 6
That's great @winter tinsel! Your challenge #5 looks good. I like how you placed all the elements to bring up the text. Great idea and really well done!
@chilly hawk : Your Building brushes challenge is really cool. Love how you used all the insects, birds and leaves. They bring life into your artwork! I like the texture applied on your texte too. Nicely done!
😊 🥰
Morning. Did i post this last night?
@cyan terrace : All your 4 days are great! I love particularly Day 2 and 4 artworks.
Day 2 : Great placement of animals and the overall warm tones applied. Everything is really well balanced (love the blue/green/aqua color in the center of background... It adds a nice touch)
Day4 : I like how you framed it with the background offset, how you add depth with the insects and text blending)
Great job on Days 1 and 3 too!👍
@glacial minnow : You did a great job on your version of Day # 5! I love the different butterfly you created by playing with hue and saturation ... Really great!!! But honestly I prefer your second artwork. Your black bird with a scatter made of bird brushes is really AWESOME ! Fantastic job!👌
Hi🌼 #myday6
@young karma : Really nice! Love how you framed it! (Maybe you might center the framing, It seems to be more on the right... Just an idea). Nicely done!
@mortal crescent : your challenge 6 is really impressive. Love the colors and how you created the sunburst background. Text effect looks good and the liquified textures are awesome. I especially like how you applied it on the shirt... It looks really great! You nailed it!👍
Thank you Sam. @coral stone gave me some advice on this. I extended the canvas size so I could move the text below all the animals and I changed the color of the text. I believe it works way better now.

@eternal mica : Nice improvement on your "Natural Selection". Mentors always give great advice. Your "Shades of Alan" looks good too. Great idea to place different effects on the same artwork. Just a point: I think your broke the proportions of your model, he looks distorted (or maybe it's my eyes🤓 ) Great job anyway!
@hollow yarrow Thank you Franck. Your support and encouragement motivate me. Like I've said so many times, when Sam/Valdair/Franck say Jump, I say how high. The input is invaluable. Ill make a duplicate copy of the file and overlay the images to see if there is an inconsistency in any of the sizes.

Hello friends. Here is my day 5 challenge. Thank you
minimalist pisces design - fun idea
@hollow yarrow WOW what a piece. One of your most powerful. The second one is jumping off my screen. Far be it from me to disagree with @bleak fossil , but now I think the text is too washed out at the TUR over the white shape. Maybe it was better the first time.
Thanks @hollow yarrow I really appreciate your comments
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @hollow yarrow
My challenge 7
@hollow yarrow Very nice! I like the little boost the the brightness of the text, but I also like the bold colors of your latest design. Harder to say which I prefer. I'd kind of be curious to see you combine the last two posts. Keeping the bolder colors of the newest design, but the more desaturated background of the previous design. It might give a nice balance between the saturated and desaturated elements to really make the figure the focus. But if I had to choose one, I might say the previous design with the slightly less bold colors, I like the contrast it creates with the background. Definitely up to personal preference, very nice work!
@compact anvil Looks great! I really like the mirrored look you got with the hands and the designs in the corner. It kind of looks like it could be the back of a tarot card or something if the circle design in the middle was a bit more centered. The glow of the designs works really well against the darker background and the colors are looking good too!
@dusky wave Great job with the different designs in this one! I really like the softness of the background colors and contrast to give this whole design a peaceful feel. I kind of feel like the brightness of the lines around the shapes could be a bit brighter, especially with the text. Maybe centering it by moving it to the left a couple notches could look nice too? Just some ideas. Nicely done!
Don't know why it exported with thicker lines, but flattened and then exported again. Thank you for the feedback 🙂
Day 7: Minimalist Design. This one was pretty fun.
@simple idol I really like the progression in the images with this Day 5 design! The blue and orange contrast between the leaves and the butterflies is really nice. I feel like it might be nice to add a bit more visual hierarchy and focus on the butterflies by making them a touch bigger in the image. Nice work on the masking 👍
@lucid plover This is looking awesome! The face is the background is working really well, I like how it's clear and readable but fading a bit into the starry sky of the background. I feel like perhaps the design in the center could be brightened up a bit overall to balance out the eyes a bit? The text at the bottom is a nice touch, makes it look like a movie poster, hah. Nice work!
@winter tinsel The background on this Day 6 challenge is a great addition! It also creates some excellent contrast with the background. It might be nice to see the brightness of the butterflies increased overall to balance out the strong blue/orange contrast with the leaves. The path effect on the text creates some really nice movement in this design!
@compact pecan Ooh, very nice, really cool designs! I like how the colorful, brighter part of the galaxy on the right kind of balances with the design on the left. Though it might be nice to see a bit more of an emphasized focal point? Something that really stands out among the rest. The design in the hand seems to be the focal point, but perhaps the brightness on it could be pushed a bit more to really emphasize that? Looks good!
Thank you @bleak fossil I will work on it!

@bleak fossil I added a bit of brightness around the astrological sign and I think it not only separates the sign as the main subject, but also helps give the image some depth. Thanks for the help!
For day 7 I've decided to stick to minimalistic approach. Lots of happy little accidents. 😁
Awesome!!
I did Sagittarius for my unborn child due this Saturday. Not quite a Christmas baby but close 😉

@stark palm : Yep version 2 looks better (it's a personal preference). I like the effect given by added stars (particularly help to hide the two brigth spots on the hair which were disturbing...for me)...V1 was good but V2 is great...So it made a difference...for me.

I cannot thank each of @brittle slate @lethal mural @jolly quest and @sterile bane for a most incredible experience. I began my DCC journey back in March. I had no idea what I was in for. I was a very very uneducated Ps user. What you have taught me as a group and individually has been utterly amazing. I have participated in every challenge since, over 150. Without fail, every one has taught me something, and in most I learned many things at once. You opened my eyes to what is possible utilizing not only Ps, but now Ai, Pr, Lr, Dn. If my skills are still what they are, that is on me. You folks did your best and gave me the tools to strive to improve every day. That is my goal for 2021. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @brittle slate
@bleak fossil @coral stone I can repeat what I just said above for what you each have taught me , and increase it times 10. The attention, patience, guidance you have given was better than anything I could have received at any university. Every project I submitted was analyzed critiqued and used as a teaching tool, always making me feel good about what I submitted, always supportive, always motivating. You guys are sensational. And a special thank you to MMMV. You know what I mean.

Good evening from London! Sadly I have been so behind with the challenges as my iMac crashed and couldn't open Photoshop. Had a big scare as I couldn't install Creative Cloud so I had to run disk utility, etc. I just managed to install yesterday and do a couple of the challenges. All I could say was..I truly enjoyed these challenges and I am glad I signed up and participated. Will definitely finish the challenges! 💪

@pliant comet I don't know if I replied before but the Linear Dodge effect looks good! I think it feels a bit more physically on the fur this way. Nice job!
@simple idol Late response, but this looks great! I think the blue background balances very nicely with the orange sand of the ground. The size variation between the butterflies adds some excellent depth too. I like it!
@compact pecan Definitely! I think that change looks great, it really solidifies the focus of the image, and I agree, adds some nice depth. It gives the image a much stronger visual hierarchy with the strong 1-2-3 read. Great work 😄

Make A Gift #1 - Animate a Digital Greeting Card
I don't know how the challenge says abut work with more than 2-Frame Animation Gif.
Challenge Two
@compact anvil fun!!!
Don't have Illustrator, so I worked in Photoshop: Challenge 2 - Cocktail
My day one challenge. Learned stuff. Thanks Kathleen.
Lovely work @zealous stratus! Great use of colors, I like how balanced they are!
I enjoyed doing this and am still trying to perfect. Kathleen a+
Day 2: Cocktail recipe. I don't have AI, so I just made my own background and shapes. Also, I wouldn't recommend having more than one of these per evening. When poured correctly, these taste exactly like Dr. Pepper (but with A LOT of alcohol).
Day 2 Recipe Card
Challenge #9 - Surreal Portrait: Just finished the final daily challenge! Feels funny to be inserting this into all the festive holiday work. Sorry for making it weird. 😀
Day #2 Holiday Cheers. I don't have AI so tried something different
My holiday recepie card - I don't own the recipe but its something I often make at home so thought of sharing with everyone! 😄

@compact anvil Great colors!
Day 3: My first time using Adobe Fresco - I digitally recareated this photo my dad clicked while we were vacationing on a cruise in Alaska 2.5 years ago! Didn't turn out the way it should've but I'm hoping I'll get better with more practic! 😀
Thank you 🙂 - tried to get a warm evening glow

Holiday Challenge 4. Make a Wish for 2021.
Since my laptop isn't strong enough to handle Fresco, neither do I have a tablet or a phone where I can use it, I made my print card in Photoshop 🙂 It's a beautiful place in Bulgaria that I still haven't visited, one of the 7 lakes in Rila mountain
And here's the original image that I took from Unsplash:

Not so great, but I tried to make something
I love this so much! Especially your typographic addition. 🙂

Good afternoon friends. I'm finally catching up. Here is my day 1 challenge Holiday Greetings Unfortunately, I have not been able to load the gif. Seems it is too powerful no matter how much I reduce the size so here is the jpg
Happy Holidays, everyone! Here's my Day 1 challenge, any feedback is welcome. #adobemakeagift
I'm so behind but determined to do these! 🙂 Here's my Challenge #1 Animated Greeting Card GIF.
With words or without....?🤔
wow @winter tinsel there is such a story to this animation! I like the text.. it helps give the viewers something to "land on" at the end of the animation
Holiday challenge 1
Holiday Challenge. Getaways: tried to make Colorado mountains. Mood Board. Never really got anywhere using Fresco on my own. But this was fun.
Challenge #adobemakeagift : Moodboard day 4
Graphics done in Fresco Windows 10, but text done in Photoshop 2021, Fresco have no text tool in Windows version
@winter tinsel wow its looking so beautiful.... AWESOME!
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Have you try to done a mp4?
Thank you! 😊

Day #3 Wish We Were Here. As Fresco doesn't work on my computer I did this in Photoshop. For some reason when I drew the lines they came out a different colour to the one I selected. I had to change the blending mode. Any thoughts on why this would happen.
Thought I'd give a Holiday GIf a shot... Feliz Navidad y'all!
Challenge #2 Holiday Recipe Card. I don’t have Ai so I had to make this entirely in Photoshop using the shape tools. Definitely out of my comfort zone but fun.
Challenge #2..again! I almost forgot my directions on my recipe.

Your card looks awesome animated @simple idol ! I love the falling snow, thank you for sharing the animated version as a video so we could see it, even if the gif was a little too big. It's been my pleasure to hang out with you this year, and I've enjoyed seeing your work and skills grow throughout the challenges!

Hello everyone, Happy New Year! Here is my cover for this challenge... It may change, I´m not sure what is going to be about 😀
PSDCC Day 0.5 with VooDoo Val - Behance Cover
I always change my cover image by the end of the challenge, but here's what I came up with after today.
@unborn lintel Really great shapes and designs in the background of this one! There's some nice color contrast too with how the portrait is a lot less saturated than the background. I like the overlay effects too, nicely done!
@dusky wave I like it! Hah, the masks at the bottom are a nice touch. I think the value contrast of the 2021 looks good, though I feel like the top text and maybe even the balloons could use a bit of color contrast to make them stand out against the background a bit more. Nice work!
@lucid plover Good to see you back Fery! I like the uniform colors between the two photos, the composition has a nice balance to it. Looks good!
@dusky wave The cover image is looking good too, I love the texture and deep contrast on the title text. The sort of wood burning effect works well. My only suggestion would be the shapes on the top/bottom and left/right are a bit confusing. I'm not sure what they are, but I think if you wanted to keep them maybe a blending more that shows more of the texture under them might look good? Nice work 😄
thank you @bleak fossil
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @bleak fossil
@blissful wolf Very cool! I like how you went a lot darker and seem to have shifted the color temperature of the title text, it gives it a nice contrast. Nice job with the animal shapes and the overlapping arrangement 👍
@bleak fossil , thank you very much!
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @bleak fossil
@pliant comet Very nice, I like the font styles in this cover image! My only suggestion is that maybe giving the text a bit of a lighter fill might give it a cleaner read against the dark background, especially on the more intricate script text. Texture looks cool too!
@compact pecan The masking is a really cool effect! And the pink backing to the text gives it a nice unity with all those different animal colors. I like how you faded the contrast of the background as well so it doesn't compete with the text. Nice job!
@plain sable Happy New Year! Very cool effect, I like the textures in this, and the color contrast looks nice. It could be interesting to try playing with a Color Dodge layer with a soft round brush to really push that glow in the center of the burst. Color Dodge is always a go-to effect for me at least. Looks good!
@raw coyote Happy new year! I love the festive coloration of the red and white in this design. The way you have a more subtle/faded background to really let the brighter white designs take focus works very well. Nicely done!
Hi friends. Here is my cover for now... I reserve the right to change it 🙂
