I use photoshop, and to get the blending like in the bleeding heart sucho skin i turn down the brush hardness to 0% and turn down opacity to around 30%. I usually use a big brush size and trim it down with the eraser (also set to 0% brush hardness and low opacity), because the smaller brush sizes leave more of a hard edge

Looking at Rasa's beautiful stego skins, now I can pinpoint why I'm not too keen of most official stego skins.
The issue with official, non-partner seems to be balance and utilization of space. Most dinos do this well with their skins, but I find a shocking lack of utilization of Stego's plates in the official skins, which means detail is hyper-concentrated on the body.
Meanwhile Rasa's skins utilize the space very well and have a really nice balance to them

The body isn't left out and has some nice coloration and markings, but the plates just pop

I'd use that Stego skin. I find it really pretty. The body is a lot darker, though that allows the plates to shine even more. And the way it sort of "leaks" onto the body gives a fairly gradual transition from the dark body to the lighter plates.

For my kentro skin i made, i actually put effort into the body colors, instead of making it a baren brown, i made some spots black and darker brown and put patterns on it that normally aren't on a porcupine, so heres a tip from me (A relativly new skin concept artist), if you have blank areas put patterns on that normally wouldn't be on the animal in question your basing off of.

yup, that's intentional!! i took inspiration from pre-existing skins i like and combined them with personal designs i'd want to see on a metria, so the overall skin felt more cohesive with what we already have in game

The start of my second series of endangered African antelopes, here you see the Oryx Barsboldia
I will be making two alternate skins based on other oryx species as well

yeah maybe carry on the underbelly and head theme across the back/body a little more for the other two variants

The oryx is part of a family of antelopes called horseantelopes, one of them is the sable antelope, I will make one based on that animal as,well
So this will make a very contrasting skin but I will use the same colour scheme as in the oryx one so it is obvious they are alternates of eachother
And the last one will be a lighter version from the original based on the Arabian Oryx
The light body with the black legs will make a nice contrast against the first skin and the second much darker one
The main details in these skins is obviously the black and white markings on the heads of these animals
Barsboldia is an impressive animals just due to it size, so a less busy skin would fit it well imo

Yeah definitely one of the best fanmade skins I’ve seen. A lot of them don’t look the best when they’re actually applied on creatures. The colors and patterns sometimes look painted on or oversaturated. This one is amazing though

But there are so many other dangerous animals too, and documented cassowary attacks are actually pretty rare and are almost always because the bird was provoked/harassed (a few others were because the birds were fed)
