M4 is a very decent gun to use with a good damage range and accuracy. But it won't help you that much in long or close distances. I'll suggest you to use the m4 in medium ranges, in this type of maps your gun would be a deadly weapon.

Now if you're asking to use a different gun to get a good advantage in combats, I'll suggest you to use the Grau 5.56. That gun is so good that it'll kill your enemies with 3-4 shots.
