i got my subwoofer down to -6db which i think is pretty balanced

bass heavy is definitely heavy on the bass

they are nice and punchy

if the signal coming out of your head unit is well done, then an amp can help get more loudness without distortion
if the signal coming out of your head unit is kekw then you need a dsp and amp (sometimes in a single package)
