OneOdio Pro-50
I seem to be mistaken, there are some OneOdio graphs
if they are corrected graphs and they don't give the target, they are basically useless
also, I already saw it somewhere before, but I never knew it was that one
well, it isn't flat, also, what you could do, if you want to sort of tune you're headphones in a half scientific manner (basically, if you are like most regular humans who don't want to spend 5 grands on a H.A.T.S) you could just use you're phone's microphone and play pink noise, record the curve that pops out the other side and tune using that
I just fell into a rabbit hole of reddit articles on response curves. I have too much readong to do lol
It's a somewhat popular one yeah
Wouldn't it be influenced by the fact that the headphones wouldn't be sealed at all, plus the phone's microphone?
or, I know you can do a very good head simulator with yoga foam and a b&k something micro phone (I would need to search a bit to find wich one I am talking about if you want to build one) it would be quite janky, but I doubt you would mind, and it will give you some pretty acurate response curves to tune to you're heart's contents
yeah, it totally will, but it would give you an idea
haha I'd love to try that but sadly doubt i'd have time to
(the thing I am talking about two message above is like 50 bucks, I forgot to add that)
cool, I might have to try that sometime
I've never tried objectively flat headphones before so I have nothing to compare against apart from what I have now lol
you basically buy the parts, take yoga foam, and pop the microphone in a hole in the yoga foam, and that's it
perfectly flat headphones will sound like crap, you should just go on https://crinacle.com and inspire you're self with the response graphs of the high end headphones
crin ❤️
or else you could spend the 50 bucks on a pair of iems tuned by people who know what they are doing, like a moondrop may or chu II
wouldn't stacking a random response graph on top of my already unknown response headphones achieve nothing objective?
are you only reading this conversation for oportunities to send weird messages ?
wish I could but I've had these headphones for a few years and can't buy anything new rn
I don't see how that would be related but ok
I might be making a few wrong assumptions then. This is meyond my knowledge haha
indeed, what I was saying, is to make the foam microphone to measure you're headphones scientifically, then tune them to the tune of a high end headphone
ohh I see what you mean 👍
I was talking of the age of the headphones and the fact that then you cannot buy anything new
oh I just mean that I splurged to get these headphones and can't spend more on new phones yet
ok
from the practical perspective, I just bought them to listen to music and focus while I work and they do that job just fine
sadly their pads are wearing out though, I'll see how long they take to fully disintegrate
has I said like 3 times before, you don't need expensive headphones, if they achieve a minimum bar, since it is completely subjective, you won't be seing much difference anyway
Oh okay, I've always read that you have to spend a ton on fancy equipment to reproduce accurate sound. I've always doubted that though
I have some 50euro dt70 pro I believe that I use for everything that isn't at my desk, since they are closed bakc, and except if I go in a quiet room, I cannot ear a noticeable difference, so don't get lured by audio snobs saying that you need a 300 euro pair of cans at minimum or else you aren't doing it right
no
it's a subjective hobby, quality is meaningless here, so long has it is above the minimum bar, you might prefer the signature of a 75$ headphone rather than one of a 1000$ headphone
that's what I've always thought, but reddit told me otherwise
As before, I think i'll be happy sticking with these OneOdios then
poor child, you still didn't figure out that reddit is utterly useless for subjective hobbys
lol yeah I figured reddit wasn't useful and bought the oneodios anyways, but I've just never been able to find actually useful resources on tuning them
I'm in a few Discord audiophile servers but it's mostly just discussion on expensive equipment
the only thing that actually differenciates a shitty headphone from a great headphone is the tune, that's all, there is also the resolution and all that, but you probably won't ear it if we are real here
On some of my cheaper headphones I could definitely tell that when I turned up the low end, it would start distorting, but I don't get the same effect on the oneodios so I figured they have the potential, at least, to reproduce just about anything
so, personally I would have gone with something like a dt240 pro (it's 240 actually, not 70) from beyer dynamics, simply because it is from a very well known manufacturer, but it is a bit late now
well, again, like most things, distortion isn't a problem, until it is one
Yeah I completely understand that what I have isn't exactly built for accuracy
that just means that once it gets above a minimum bar, it is imperceptible
that said, I'm happy with them
yeah tbh I can't tell the difference between some newer songs and their remastered versions
they make remastered versions of songs now ?
again quality is an ilusion with headphones, once it gets over a minimum bar, you just need to like the tune and roll with it (except if you have thousands of dollards to blow up)
and I indeed do not have thousands of dollars to blow up
I mean like these two
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXBCMgq7_xY
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AckG0JVrYDA
I can barely tell the difference
well, if you are like us poor people who happened to not be millionaire, you probably don't have enought thousands of dollards to spend on a amp dac stack that weight has much has you're self to unlock the potential of a headphone that is so expensive and heavy that it will actively try to break you're neck
I am completely serious, with audeze, who are basically the "let's go ham baby who cares about price" brand of headphone, people have reported neck pains because the headphones are just so heavy
"I have neck pain from my headphones"
"you mean ear pain? you should listen more quietly"
"NECK pain NECK pain"
and in the lineup of heavy and expensive you also have the abyss AB1266 PHI TC (rolls off the tonge) or the moondrop venus
some big honk of metals to feel "premium"
some dude wanted to bring his headphones to a warzone or smth I guess
the point of the abyss AB1266 PHI TC, where to be durable enought to be given to you're childs after you're death, and be the flatest possible response too
OH that thing costs more than a car
probably would add to the gross weight of the car as well
6000 bucks for a pair of cans indeed, you better hope it will survive you and you're childs
wait until you see the price of the HE-1
if I buy those, I don't need to worry about them outlasting my generation. I'll be unable to buy food and die of starvation within a week
LOL they're 60k
well, I mean, buying an he-1, they are so expensive that for a regular human, it is basically a life goal, not just a purchase
all you're life savings to get it
I was gonna say, maybe it's for like very professionally rich audio producers, then I realized that their music gets listened to on airpods anyways
60k to hear some really expensive wiggly air
nope the AB1266 PHI TC are made for that, the He-1 are for people who forget the concept of money and simply wants the best, and also have a special room that is insulated from any noise with 5kg of "anti noise foam" on each wall
heh sounds about right
I've gotta go finish some work but I appreciate your input on my headphones, I'll have to try tuning them sometime
yup, that is a big part of why I just left the audio hobby, because non millionaires are just left out of the equation, and I don't have thousands to blow away
you're welcome, me, I have some sleeping to do
I spend the bare minimum on each hobby and resultantly become master of jank
in how many hobby are you in exactly ?
I'm pretty sure you have more knowledge than many of those "in the hobby"
amateur radio, FPV/RC, audio, 3d printing, are probably the main ones
but a few random things
I'm flattered, and my ego at least won't deny the possibility
I see you have taste
but also, I am going to let you work, we have been talking for over an hour, and I already only have 5H of potential sleep left since it is already 1am18 here
so have a nice end of you're day
haha yeah have a good rest of your night
thanks
Screwy headphone things going on
I have a JLabs Studio Wireless that I want to make sound like my EQ'd OneOdio Pro 50's. I played some pink noise through the pro50s with the EQ activated, then pink noise through the Studios with no EQ. Recorded both with some old voice recorder I have, with as similar mic positioning as I could, plotted both spectrums (spectra?) in Audacity, and used Gimp to overlay both
goal is to negatively EQ the Studios until their spectrum matches the Pro50s
Although my recording system does not resemble a human ear whatsoever, I think this should roughly work due to the fact that both headphones were recorded in the exact same manner. The only difference would then be the way the seal/pads affect the sound profile, but that should get me close in EQ, in theory
null hypothesis is that I fail miserably by default but I'll see
Now, I don't actually need anything from Audacity other than hopefully this adjustment EQ. I need it because I'll recreate something similar in my "normal" desktop EQ program:
And my computer just lag-crashed and I lost everything, but that's actually okay because I sent screenshots of everything I needed to this channel literally moments before
Re-recorded the Studios with the EQ running and that's... actually kinda closer
it definitely sounds different but closer as well. probably could EQ the rest manually
Definitely also feels like the Studios are struggling to keep up with the Pro-50s. It's getting exponentially more frustrating chasing the phantom EQ setting so I think I've hit the limits of these $10 headphones
I haven't tried this yet but it should be relevant #🌀off-topic message

by the way, I just came up with a pretty good analogy between drones and headphones, headphones are basically like gimbals for fpv
Yeah got a KRK S12.4 to help out my pair of KRK RP8 G3 in the low end
I got a 12 inch subwoofer to help out my 8 inch monitors in the low end
Looks like a neat lil company
Not sure what you mean but I know there's a lot of analogy between EM waves and audio waves
no, not that at all, basically, cheap gimbals can do a lot, and cheap headphones can do a lot, and say with a cheap gimbal you can lube it to make it feel like an expensive gimbal, just like you can tune a cheap headphone to make them feel like expensive ones, and expensive gimbals don't actually deliver that much more than cheap gimbals, just like with headphones
True up to a certain degree, some turds are just too shitty to polish.
it does need to pass a certain low bar obviously, like a china special 50cents headphone from temu won't ever be able to sound has good has like an hd600
Ohh I see what you mean, yeah pretty much
I think the main issue isn't that cheaper headphones aren't able to produced good audio, it's that they're intentionally designed to sound very "V" so that they please the gamers who would otherwise be like "it lacks bass boohoo"
the cheap headphone thing is definitely real though
see here
sometimes they're just so cheap that they can't physically handle creating any audible low end while not mushing the high end
I wouldn't say it is necessarily gamers, but just every normie that basically thinks "moar base is moar quality" because that is how apple is tuning it's headphones, and people are dumb sheeps that just assume that everything apple does is the best because they are expensive, so not only gamers I would say
Wouldn't gamers who know what to look for be looking for clarity in mids and highs to better hear the direction of footsteps, bouncing 'nades and AP rounds whizzing past?
True yeah, never had apple earphones (or apple anything 😌) so I hadn't known what their sound was like
correction, I meant Gen Alpha Fortnite Tablet Skibidi Gamers
Haha, fair enough
I love that word
"moar base moar better" may be normie thinking but I gotta say adding that subwoofer was a great decision
Though the music I listen to is rather bass heavy (various EDM genres mostly)
Oh yeah I listen to some EDM and epic orchestral and both need well tuned amounts of bass to sound good
to the extent that some of my cheaper headphones just can't keep up lol
My
man
I thought
This was someone different

was like "who tf this mf i never seen before"
Haha yes, definitely a matter of trial and error especially with the crossover frequency. 80Hz is just perfect to have the monitors and woofer constructively interfere and rattle the room. At 70Hz it sounds just right
incredible, a clean soul, it is rare

wtf stop!!
It sounds like Spotify when it tries to fade 2 songs together with different tempos but all the time
Probably not the issue but what if the turn table is only going too fast bc of the slider lol
but we've got the correct tempos
and the same chords
and all the time
and the lowest resolution audio known to man

I be looking for oldskool dj turn tables rn
I remember when I thought $600 goggles were outrageous
Now I’m tryna drop 1.5k on a sound system
I’ll probably never do it till I get a better job 😞
It’s just so shiny and those dots do something to my loins
why is harder better faster stronger bpm exactly 123.482
buying used hobby from clueless online sellers be like
Lmao they found the perfect tempo
I do love that song. Pls don’t ruin it for me
NO! do you know how hard I questioned my sanity trying to convert the bpm of that song
Shit slips frrr
sitting there switching the metronome between 123 and 124 and neither working like my brain was failing me
How did you find it?
it's a great song and it's hilarious how intercompatible it is with megalovania and other similar chord progressions. Even some 70s rock songs use it lol
a re-google to check my sanity and finding a redditor who calculated it in FL studio 4 years ago
they preserve my sanity
spoiler alert some more evil contorsion of HBFS in the form of kanye and undertale deltarune?
what, the kanye, deltarune, or the mere coexistence of both?
They are both kinda off
not sure what you mean
like, I'm 100% aware that it's garbage
but I'm just curious if you mean the pitch/tempo or more like the EQ/sound or smth
hmm I'll relisten to it later when I'm not limited to laptop speakers
LOL
I take it that you mean the chords are way off then? as opposed to a slight pitch difference?
maybe I'm hearing the melody in my head with a different chord progression than the original
if that makes sense
lol I just mess around with it, no offense taken
but that's really interesting that I hear it completely differently

I used to play piano and a bit of acoustic guitar, I do neither anymore
I try to get into synths.
@cunning hill what's that thing you bought with the keyboard built in?
I'm uhhh getting up to shenanigans and would like to be able to have a physical input for my DAW
the MIDI controller?
i think?
don't use it anymore.
but I think it's a good device if you are willing to use a DAW on a computer.
Tis indeed the plan
oh yeah looks good
the Play does a bit of standalone sound but its features are...
well...
not much.
no sequencing and stuff.
you can't save stuff on it.
Hmm to be fair if I was to get something I would love to be able to do live looping with it
IDK if that's something my DAW does
need to RTFM
you could say its standalone capabilities are toy-grade.
then this isn't it.
it's cheap AF.
How much did you pay for yours?
and Akai's new MPC Key 37 also doesn't really shine hardware-wise.
around 120 euros.
Did you try to find anything else?
uh...... Korg Minilogue, Roland JD-Xi, Yamaha SeqTrak (doesn't have "real" piano keys) and...
I think there's more but I can't remember right now.
grooveboxes are also a thing.
what's that?
Oh
Are they cheaper than those other options you gave? The Yamaha appeals to me but it is a bit out of my price bracket
the SeqTrak is something I also would like to own and play around with.
a forearm sized, battery powered synth sounds extremely comfortable.
yeah. I don't have a lot of space where I currently live so a whacking grrat big thing like the Korg isn't viable for me
but I just bought a JD-Xi last year and barely used it. I should use my stuff more and buy less new things.
x)
🤣
the fact that I don't a have a dedicated place for it and have to set it up every time I want to use it is one of the reasons why.
Yeah that sounds like it would also be the case with me
too much friction.
More lube.
looks like a certain container for alcoholic beverages.
don't know the English word off the top of my head.
haha yes, a flask
one of the few affordable USB sound cards with decent DAC and software that actually works
Duhhh ofc, looks neeto. It’s really hard to find affordable audio equipment
mostly ~40-50Hz bass. Not low enough

I think the intro on this one is a bit lower

and it's hard to tell cause it's not a clean sine wave of bass, but I think it's lower

Question... I connected a Yamaha HTR-5730 to my laptop via RCA-3.5mm cable, specifically to use with my headphones. What's weird is that the yamaha seems to be more underpowered than just connecting the headphones straight to the laptop. As in, when using the receiver, strong bass seems to be less strong and brings down the volume of the rest of the audio.
Any idea what causes this? My only ideas are a) the 15amp wall circuit isn't enough (though I highly doubt this, the headphones are only 32 ohms...), or b) the RCA-3.5 cable is poor quality (though I didn't expect a questionable cable to lead to underpowering problems

my family would always be like "if you can't hear us calling you then you're listening on those headphones way too loud!"

Same with mine... I try to listen when no ones gonna care

Can you speak dumb American real quick so i can understand you
Headphones that cancel noise
Outside noise specifically
Oh it was ment to say me when
oh thx
Ayy are you into archery to ?
Heh indeed, never got further in the hobby than amateur level though
the only thing I know is that I'm a diehard instinct shooter lol
I mean thats good for hunting
What did you shoot ? (What type of bow)
oh really? from what I've heard, instinct isn't useful in a practical sense
my family/brother has a few older compound ones. a couple of PSEs and some thrift store find
which I think is also a PSE?
I mean it can be usefull but it can be dangerous to 😅
Compounds are nice, what do you mean by PSE ?
I don't shoot anything from very far away, and have plenty of backstop. I said i enjoy instinct, never said I'm good at it
the brand
the one that's "mine" got turned all the way down to like 40lbs, that's about all I can consistently draw for how few chances I get to shoot it
A compound ?
yeah
the arrow rest is the type that is engaged upwards by drawing (forgot what that's called) but it's connected to the string with a bit of paracord, and it's almost too far forward for our arrows, so drawing it and getting the arrow to sit right is an exercise lol
Wait so you dont have the right arrows ?
ah cool, I think i've found myself in an odd scenario of liking barebow for most of the popular reasons, but what I have is a craigslist compound, so that's what I shoot with
probably not, they definitley aren't a tuned length or anything
I've got to go for now but that'd definitely be a good idea lol. there might already be a thread somewhere here
Tbh a barebow is "cheap" you could probably sell your compound buy a barebow (with the right arrows) and make profit
I thought we got you one last year??
Wait wuuuuuuuut
Sorry didn’t realize how old of a message I just replied to
With mobile devices removing 3.5mm headphone jacks, the Bluetooth amplifier fits a current need. After introduced the BTR1 and μBTR to the market, FiiO now brings forward the even mightier BTR3.FiiO--Born for Music
lol ur tryna dank pods them. Why does the video flicker only above the speaker? That’s weird
i think only some of my lights flicker
realtek audio sucks and I wan a cheap USB DAC, gimme suggestion
Portable?
Or for at the desk
Either is fine
If you want something for st the desk I would get a focusrite scarlet solo
It's more a audio interface
She you can hookup instruments and microphones too
$100 is cheap?
To Me yes
wow ok
But if you just want a dac
I have a 10€ option
Used to be my daily driver for my phone
It sounds very good
And is very powerful
well audiophile stuff is really expensive, but to get stuff that just sounds good isnt expensive, my $50 IEMs sound better than anything I've ever heard
now try $300 iems
Truthear zeros?
True, for whatever reason IEMs started getting really good from China. I was more thinking of full sized audio equipment for speakers and such. I’ve been looking at tube amps for my speakers and they get crazy expensive
Like a lot of them are in the 20k range. I’ll never make that much money to be able to blow it on a tube amp lol
Is it bad to connect/disconnect a source with your monitors turned on?
They make a loud pop any time I do
I don't think it can do much harm, especially if they are active monitors (amps in the monitors themselves). Maybe if you're actively playing something loudly and disconnect it it could cause some harm. I could also be wrong but I haven't heard of damage due to disconnecting.
Wait wtf
Spotify sounds terrible compared to alternatives
Am I tripping or what? DL'd an official YT vid as mp3 and played it -- went wait wtf this sounds so much clearer than hearing it on Spotify
do you have audio normilization turned on?
if so turn it off
along with what leah said
streaming quality set to high or whatever?
spotify stinks
as usual
Is YT higher quality?
I suppose my question would be; where could I find the highest quality possible of any music? lol
barely
any place that has lossless
qobuz, tidal, deezer, bandcamp, some other place i cant think of
i HIGHLY recommend downloading all your music if you want to ditch spotify
10/10 experience
if its a flac then yes
yeah ill dm you some stuff to get you set up
Ok so flac is what I want opposed to mp3 aye?
some stuff you might only be able to get in a lossy format
aw
just look around
i'm not crying at the samples u r
I can't listen to Halo music without getting emotional af
this makes me want to splooge on an upgrade on my headphones + a dac
you have no idea
if you want speakers get a pair of LP6-V2 from kali audio
i LOVE my pair
they are amazing
https://www.schiit.com/products/fulla-2 this is the dac i use since its super duper awesome and has a mic input
nah i have sennheiser 599 se's
@unborn steeple did you see my dms btw lol
i went from "gaming" headset to these and they blew my mind
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nUPM7Q77h4
I practically have this on repeat too

i kinda want to get some nice iems but i feel like it would let me hear my crap quality music too well and ill realise how crap it is
real
and i also kinda am afraid that my ipod will have a hum or something
Downloads like 500 new songs
Skips the vast majority of said new songs
real
whenever i find new songs i play them on repeat forever until they get boring
then i just shuffle and skip a bunch because playlists are for the weak
i shuffle and then procede to unshuffle my music so songs i want play next
I just learned that Deskflow is a thing. Got my deck alllll set up
:D
Two monitors + deck
looks neat
I couldn't find a FOSS for something like this.
might be a good option if i ever get a 4th monitor and a mac
Frustrating using the deck when you really needed to use a keyboard and mouse but didn't want to swap connections over lol
I would remote in but.. sloppy
Already found an issue. I'm in Deadlock and it will go down to the deck lol
oof
This whole Convo sounds like those Reddit stories of people realizing they've been listening to everything on mono for the past decade
people with 165hz+ monitors realising they have been using it in 60hz mode the whole time
sunshine and moonlight works really well
just have sunshine run whenever you go in desktop mode
best budget iems to pair with my 5th gen classic
zero:2 perchance
they were nice from what i remember
and it has cool transparent options
any opinions on these?
https://a.co/d/bWVUuy1
there are so many cheap iems out there
ummm you can ask in this one audio server
it isnt the most active but i got a lot of help there
got a invite?
they are the people who told me to get LP6-V2 and i love those so i trust them
@lavish root according to this
these are some good options
Tin HiFi T3 Plus
TANCHJIM Cora
Intime SORA 2
Moondrop Chu
i formatted all of those wrong fml
wtf
yeah i give up at this point
its just uh not working
yeah i had that originally
idk whats up with discord
omfg
i put the link first
ugggghhhh
there we go
according to this
these are some good options
Tin HiFi T3 Plus
TANCHJIM Cora
Intime SORA 2
Moondrop Chu
fuck
after all that work
you beat me
i beat you 😛
well these are still the prettiest so i might just get them
even if they suck i doubt ill be able to tell
What
this is how I imagine tech support
anyone recommend any earpad replacements for the sennheiser 599se?
the stock ones give me a rash around my ears
ngl pretty sure it's causing it
Get the fluffy ones
Do you have any links?
WHAT
$99
I PAID $200
LOL
this hurts. seems like a regular sale of $70-$99, I missed out lol rip
https://www.amazon.com/SOULWIT-Cooling-Sennheiser-Cushions-HD380-Pro/dp/B0C23Z4PN3/ These look pretty decent
These earpads are REALLY nice
I can't tell if it's placebo but I feel like they definitely change the sound profile
I would argue it's worse because I can tell they help block exterior sound better
made sure peace was still running
They sound like GARBAGE without the EQ lmao
So are they nice or not?
These earpads are nice but PRO HEADS UP: they definitely change the sound quality.
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
Going to return these and get OEM ones but I am afraid they're what's causing a rash on my ears lol
$34.89 jesus christ
Finding that the issue is the distance from the speaker is the cause. These are thicker by maybe 1/4" - 3/8". If I press them in against my ears a bit it's noticeably better
Wrap a sweat band around your earphones to squish them in more
I will not deny that i have used overnight pressure as a method to adjust multiple headphones in the past
I have a blasphemous question
I'm looking for a very lightweight way to convert my DT990 Pros to be wireless.
(since I need to replace the cable anyway, let's have some fun)
there you go
DO NOT BUY THESE EAR MUFFS LMAO
IT MADE THE HEADPHONES BASS x10
I am using e6000 to put the old ear pads back on and returning these for OEMs
It's made it sound like some skull candy $20 headphones lmao
there's no way that thing has any kind of output amp
I was double guessing myself on whether I got the polarity right when hooking up these speakers then realized I could just...
Yep! Definitely in phase
was bass not obvious enough?
i should see if i can reverse polarity with software
For determining polarity? I haven't tried bass specifically though I tried listening to music while inverting the channels and wasn't completely sure which was correct lol
Speaking of, the left window is PulseEffects which can in fact reverse polarity
Or, invert the phase, I think more correctly
It's Linux software but you use Linux right? Or am I remembering wrong
Yeah I use Linux
Awesome that should theoretically work for ya
Or if you're on an OS that has switched over to Pipewire, you'll look for EasyEffects
Finally got a USB-C DAC
Not very expensive and no bells and whistles, but it sounds good and drives my wired gear just fine
I don't get it why we never get adapters that allow you to charge your phone at the same time.
Yeah that would be nice, didn't see any with USB supply pass-through but I also didn't filter for that
FIIO BTR5
and if that doesnt do the power
then a BTR7
Yoooo
do the song, do the song
you must do The song
25 bucks
teach your printer how to play
Not a bad idea
Funny name
CUS ITS EASY ONCE YOU KNOW HOW ITS DONE 🗣️🔥
I don’t really know where to ask this, so I’ll ask here.
I currently have some Bose Q45, but I’ve been looking at some AirPod pro 2s, mainly for no sound leak and portability. Do y’all think I’ll be disappointed or should i go for it?
cant compare with bose but im a big fan of my airpod pro 2s
havent had any leakage
ANC is great especically at low frequencies but thats pretty standard
the only issues ive had is if the contact points on the airpods or case arent clean they wont turn off in the case
and that sometimes when i hold the airpod to switch noise modes it will play the sound of the mode im already on and wont change
besides that they are great, MASSIVE fan of the transparency and adpative transparency
and it automatically going in to transparency mode if youre talking with music paused
along with it turning ANC back on when you resume your music
if youre on android you wont get any auto play/pause but if youre on iphones its basically instant
another thing with android is you will need to connect them to an iphone to change any settings
I’m sold
forgot to mention the transparency is like the best there is on the market rn @rough cosmos
along with them being really comfortable they are great to just wear even with no music
havent tried honestly lol
i only ever did that with a pair of etymotic IEMs
The ER2XR is ideal for musicians and audiophiles looking for in-ear monitors that are easy to drive, with added warmth in the bass frequencies. The flat mids and highs, along with the emphasized bass of the ER2XR, will appeal to consumers and audiophiles who like a little more presence of bass. T...
these sound AMAZING for the price
downside is the absolutely absurd fit
they go deep af in your ears
if you get it right though its very comfortable
also blocks out like 50db or something passively
i forgot what exactly the number is but its atleast 40db
Damnnn
they dont really stick out so they were decent for sleep though i was paranoid id rupture my ear drum the whole time
Lmfao yeah that’s seems like a mild issue
also because of the deep fit you have to swap out the filters in them every now and then
those IEMs are really good id say for long sessions but if you take them out often they are extremely annoying
i was so wrong
really nice still though
better than any ANC ive used
covers the whole spectrum really well
oh yeah the cable also picks up A BUNCH OF SOUND
its like a stethoscope
definitely gonna want a 3rd party cable which im not even sure if thats possible since the connector is proprietary
Lmfao
Anyone selling any SACD?
I'm looking into a receiver setup when I'm back home. I know dvd-A (not the orgazmo thing) was also great. Bob Dylan and Depeche mode made a lot
just got some IEM's
this shit is ridiculously good
im not much of a audio person (mainly on whatever the newest airpods are) but these blow those out of the water
no clue what brand this is (i got from amazon for free as part of a reviewer program)
Kbear monkie 01
I still have my ancient KZ's
they sound great except for some specific highs in which they have an epic sibilance
generally this style of IEMs is great, but I've switched to wireless nowadays
ya agreed
i mean im switching between these and airpod pro 2's
airpods very close to being aquired
Have had them for a few days, pretty nice.
What budget IEM's do yall recommand
Are they everything you dreamed they’d be?
Moondrops, KZ, and truthear are always good. There’s those extra bassy red ones that caught my attention a while back. IEMs are always changing and coming out with new stuff so it’s hard to follow the newest stuff
Here they are https://a.co/d/aT9iezG
SPECIFICATIONS Driver: 10mm+7.8mm Dynamic Driver Diaphragm: Polyurethane Suspension LCP Liquid Crystal Composite Diaphragm Impedance: 17.5Ω15% @1KHz Sensitivity: 117.5dB/Vrms @1KHz THD: <1%@1khz Frequency Response Range: 20-40.5kHz (IEC61094, Free Field) Effective Frequency Response Range: 20-20k...
Do you recommand these? I'm not much of a bass fan
Nah go w something else then
I have no idea what I should look for and how I know wich ones I'd like
Time to do your research
I should get some iems
yes you should
I just got the Truthear Gate IEMs, which are $20 IEM's, heres a comparison between these and my nicer $50 Truthear Zero red's
The Truthear Gate's sound brighter and lose some detail in the bass, they have a really nice cable that I honestly prefer over the Zero's, they are a tiny bit smaller and don't fit my ears as well, and they don't have foam eartips, which I don't really care about since I like the normal eartips
The Truthear Zero Red's sound clearer, and wider if that makes any sense, they have great bass without sacrificing any clarity, and it's easy to pickup on subtle sounds like sub-bass, they have a good cable and higher quality feel, come with more different size eartips, and have a perfect fit for my ears
Overall, the $50 IEM's are obviously better, but for $20 the Gate IEMs far surpassed my expectations, they sound amazing for costing so little, but still have great build quality and cable, and even come with a little pouch to throw them in
I forgot the most important part
they come with an anime waifu
LiPo recommends 👍
I don't think I'm a fan of brighter sound signatures
Flat sound signature ftw
I like mostly balanced with some fun to it

I got a pair of Kali audio LP6-V2 which are very flat but I raised the bass by 2db
a lot of cheap "bright" earphones suffer from sibilance
which to me sounds very similar to my tinnitus lmao
I don’t notice any of that with these
is there any driver shake
im looking to replace my iems rn
I’m not quite sure what that is
Tinnitus enjoyers rise up
How did you earn your constant ringing?
I want iems but if i buy one more audio thing my family is gonna loose all faith in me
of all random stuff i buy audio shit is the one they are the most confused about
I've always had mine :D
Nice!
Mine would come randomly as a kid
Then with more exposure to loud noises I’ve lost some hearing and the ringing is annoying
I fall asleep to boring yt videos and I can’t hear it
At least they are small and concealable
I got a steam deck and my pops just thinks it’s the same switch we’ve had for ages
my hearing is rather sensitive and I never listen to anything loud so its weird that I do have ringing
my IEM's are at 12% volume rn
Good on ya, keep your hearing healthy. It’s the only one you’re gonna get
I try and keep up with the medical research news on regrowing the hairs in your ears. Hoping that one day I can be restored
Sounds like they are getting close
My whole job is gonna be interpreting for Deaf people they better not undeaf them
no way! thats cool, how did you get into that?
about a year ago at this point I was in a class with someone who was Deaf and I wanted to learn some ASL to communicate with them, I didn't ever end up signing with that person because that class ended but I kept learning ASL and figured out I really really like it and interpreting seems like something I would love doing since it's very intensive and I really enjoy doing things of that nature. I've started going to college for an interpreting major, I'm taking ASL II now :D
from what I've seen it might not make very much money but who cares it's something I'll love doing
No idea tbh
I know I got it sometime after 10yo but before 14yo
and it got worse gradually
Ear infection maybe?
I don’t have constant ringing but it’s definitely around a pretty large chunk of time
Those can be caused by stress in the back of your neck. Some people find that massaging themselves on the back of the head helps relieve it
either that or mb blood pressure related
I'm currently having some hearing issues again lol, my ears lost the ability to regulate pressure
Damn proud of you for that! I’ll be getting shit pay in the medical field pretty soon too. Gotta start somewhere ¯_(ツ)_/¯
if I change altitude fast enough (driving a couple kms downhill), my tinnitus will go from eeee to GOOOONG and the ear pressure is epic
That’s tragic from someone who’s into audio equipment
Yowch
Terrible super power lol
I always produce so much earwax
Tinnitus man! Can hear the change in atmospheric pressure!!
can predict when storms are coming
Just smell em
the not so fun thing is that combination of atmospheric pressure change in the evening + blood pressure change before going to bed means that rn I get the gong when going to bed
My grandps could feel it in his knees
Dude have you gone to the doctor
Wrong reply
WRONG REPLY
Meant for this one
lawl
Bad doctor then
Real af
yeah so the first doctor told me that I was probably faking it
and the second one shrugged at me
so I'm waiting for my private doctor shit to start next month
You gotta see specialists that aren’t covered by your insurance
Fucking assholes
Yeah there
I went to a sports therapist to be told that my ass wasn’t powerful enough and it was causing my thigh cramps while biking
I've been trying to deal with for over half my life, all that it lead to is my disillusionment with the vast majority of doctors lmao
So you’re gonna see an ear doctor now?
first a private ehh "general purpose" doctor, then an ear(and other stuff) doctor
I have a couple other things that need to be taken care of
that I couldn't take care of with my previous doctor
because the last time I went there I was about 30s away from punching the nurse
she made me understand who the term "royal f*ing c*nt" was made for
if you've seen harry potter, think umbridge
that kind of level of assholery
Holy fuck
Is your area known for having bad doctors or are you just really unlucky
sorta both
the nurse (who outlasted many doctors in that office) is the kind of person who would hold your insurance card hostage because you didn't make an appointment
and if you come without an appointment (on a day explicitly meant for people without appointments), she would come out and REPEATEDLY tell everyone how "people without appointments make our job so hard" while visibly giving you the side eye
“You came without an appointment”
“Yes because I have a 105 fever you fuckwit”
yeah that day was even more fun cause I went there with a fever and with burnout related breakdown, looking to get pointed to psych help
T'was the day I REALLY snapped
well anyway
imma go to work with my EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEars in their current state
Peace
now that you mention this
I had tons of problems with ear infections and stuff when I was younger
I wonder if that would be the cause of my tinnitus
Speak of the devil... Just wanted to share my newest purchase which replaces my worn out and disintegrating Shure SE215s
And also ordered a gate for my dad who does audio and mixing for some bands and is setting up a wireless IEM monitoring system that still needs some good but not too expensive IEMs
First impressions on the Zero Reds: sounds very impressive, a smooth slightly warm sound. The bass is noticeable but not too much and gets a nice boost with the included 10 Ohm adapter. Treble is also nice, not screechy but still has enough clarity.
I knew from reviews that the nozzles are quite large and can cause fitment issues for some ears. I normally use medium or large tips and have no issues so far after an hour of wearing them. There's quite a few different tips included for customisation.
You put that in words much better than I could
I guess some of the stuff my dad has been showing me has rubbed off on me over the years lol
Lol the inner box showing more of the anime character includes a little piece of cardboard that can be folded into a stand for the inner box to put it on a shelf or something
I love truthear
👍
they arrive tmr
will drop a review as well
Truthear Gate just arrived here. After 10 minutes of testing my dad requested the links to forward to the band lol
He likes them more than Shure SE215
Maybe that's also cause they are more comfortable
Sound-wise he says the SE215 are a bit more neutral than the Gate but the Gate sound nicer overall. Bass also pronounced without hurting the ears with highs etc.
I don’t think I would call the bass pronounces but that’s subjective
Yeah it was in comparison to those Shure SE215 and I believe Sennheiser CX 3.00.
for some reason I've never tried the 10ohm adapter that came with the zeroes
the bass is fun but with the adapter it's a little much for me, sounds muddy
huh, I didn't notice any of that, you've tried all the tips?
i fixed it
windows bs
ah
holy SHIT i can hear notes i didnt hear before
windows sucks
this is wild
first time using IEMs?
it struggles in a couple songs tho
no i used some cheap ones before
https://open.spotify.com/track/6W2KBpMMXW17r7dPyqi8Iu?si=fa77bab958504af5
this just murdered the iems
it sounds like
blurry
idk
its supposed to be super crisp notes
besides this song its doing well in everything else
huh
I think it might be windows
I listened to that on my computer and thought yeah youre right
then I plugged it into a little dac on my phone\
and it sounded fine
then I plugged it into my laptop which isnt windows
and it sounded fine
thats so strange
what does windows do
I dont notice it on any other songs
this sounds like it's at a lower bitrate than one I found on youtube
i could be going crazy as I don't have much practice discerning bitrates or nothin, but it sounds lower quality
i think spotify is notorious for having a low bitrate? not sure if that could factor into it
unrelated note but I'm curious if anyone else hears a(n audio quality) difference between these two songs https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLGL8Jb_fw2z_-uIz_HroKhKGCG7rDxTfM
can you tell which one sounds lower quality? genuine question, I'm trying to figure out if it's just my own bias or something
hmm
i set my bitrate qc to max
il checj tmr
Yeah it does affect the mids a bit. I like it personally, that little plug basically replaced my equaliser
for the deja vu bois yes, this is a reupload, originally uploaded on 6th December 2021 on the original crinacle channel before it was aliven't. RIP to OG crinacle :(

pretty sure this adds latency or something to your audio btw
id only set that to whatever your pc/dac can output
how can i check
Probably look up your motherboard model or whatever audio device you have
Oh
I thought you meant the second part
I have no clue
my dac supports 192k native
i mean you could use that but id try something lower than 192,000Hz thats still 24bit
Ye already know about that
quick warning
this can break some older games
some older games just assumed a certain sampling Hz
so if you run a higher Hz, everyone will sound like chipmunks
o father, where be the king's robes?

black IEMs get dirty faster than white IEMs
I thought it would be the other way around but it makes sense
Didn't they change how they do scoring once they started working with manufacturers
I’ve never seen such a tactical camera before. It looks sick
thats 600mm
the biggest one fuji makes
camera people tell me its a waste on apsc 🤣
H8 me cause they aint me
Can I have it 👉 👈
i live by the national loon center
they actaully come over to where i live, the center is in town 🤣
I insured it, if you take it. the insurance comany has people better then the cops i stg
fine?
since we’re in the audiophile channel
i got dji mic for it
I mean kinda
L take
I mean it's not a waste but it feels kinda unnecessary on an apsc
This camera is really good thou
It goes right to frameio in body
Even though it's not full frame, global shutter its a step below that on hit rate for bird photography
So unless you have the 7k Sony (this whole setup costs about that) not much room for upgrade
This part so nice
Also shopping by body is for the weak of mind
Buy nice glass swap the bodies when the new ones come
Im getting all the fuji [R] glass which is the real setup here
I'm actually holding off on any more purchases till I go to Japan. I was going to get it in the store
I mean I kinda disagree to this but I agree on the fact that a good lens is more important than a good body
Good camera body will always go out of date
Good camera lens is forever
Take a pretty image once, take pretty image forever
Full frame is a scam, its arbitrary size of film which doesnt mean anything
I know Sony makes all the sensors and bigger is better 1:1. But the difference is negligible imo
just in case yall didn't know, this is the audiophile thread
Ill Tie it all together then
If I only listened to music, having an MP3 would be nice, if I were only taking pictures, using my DSLR would be nice, but the convenience of having all of those in 1 device overshadows all of that
when ripping CDs should i do FLACs or uncompressed WAV's?
After a little bit of looking it seems that FLAC is just better
Yeah WAV and FLAC sound exactly the same, file size and compatibility is the only difference
FLAC
same quality smaller file size
only benefit of WAV i can think of is compatability but you can always just convert it afterwards if you need that
like every media player should support FLAC though
only case i can think of is a game wanting WAV
set the bass too high on my standing speakers and stuff started to vibrate
or maybe the mixing on this song isnt great
ok yeah it was just a bad song
i wanna use iem's over bluetooth wirelessly, anyone know i can do this?
like some sort of brick that i can plug the 3.5mm into and connect via ble my phone
I like the over the ear ones like this, they of course ruin the sound quality but that's what happens when you use bluetooth
would this work
the ones I have are the TRN BT20 Pro which are like $20 but I got for even less, that's all they're really worth
I dont see why it wont
alr
Yeah just get like any Bluetooth receiver off amazon
I think fiio makes one
trying to find high quality recordings of old tracks from a niche genre is despair
Soulseek maybe?
