pretty sure it'll follow sort of the same logic:

Select your server -> Authenticate it with your account -> Publish for discovery -> Editable info through their official website (?)

you can find servers having KitPvP for example in US/EU and some other places, so every kind of player can enjoy it

Can't say I experience the same. Every game I want to play I either download on Steam or add as a Non-Steam game and hit Play. It "just works" like 90% of the time. The other 10% are either flukes or need Proton-GE.

Same thing goes for the Steam Deck. It "just works" beautifully with the vast majority of the Steam library.

SteamOS is really still just Arch at the end of the day. Probably closer to something like Bazzite.

I encourage you to try out Bazzite on an extra machine. It is a really good interpretation of a desktop version of SteamOS, probably as close as you will find.

i want a bazzite that still allows me to tinker with the thing honestly, but yeah bazzite had the keyboard light problem i talked about earlier and its so annoying having to spend 4 hours trying to fix it, and in the end still isnt 100%

Literally will never happen. Microsoft owns Windows. Apple owns MacOS. They are both privately funded for monetary gain. Linux doesn't have 1 single owner/creator/etc. (Granted RHEL is doing their thing, but I digress)

general idea is mace and battleaxe for close range (axe is prob better but both are good and they work very well in tandem) dagger for movement and burst damage, and sword for Weird Things and defense, also just whenever you need a quick strike

it is an EU server but unfortunately it's the best we can do RN there aren't any good NA ones. closest is hyhub but they have really stupid custom balancing that they did without knowing what they were doing and so axe is broken there bc all of the other weapons are way worse. Also they made weapon swapping take stamina which is really dumb and makes the server way less fun. As a result no one plays it lmao, especially since the devs think they know better then the Actual Hytale Devs

as for mace, high ping makes mace better actually harder to stop.

i actually think PVP is extremely balanced. dagger charge is FINE, there's actually a lot of counterplay. If you want the easy strat, it's very consistent to shield bash someone away as they dash at you. Its actually really hard to get dagger charges off at high level bc of this and people smaking your charges with mace. They only do stupid damage on backstabs which are hard to land and I think should be rewarding.

The weapon patterns are actually cool IMO, especially since you can store the stronger attacks for later by say doing 2 hits and then swapping off for a bit. It'll remember where you were for a bit when you swap back.

also sword prob needs minor buffs too; I say buff it's KB. of the 4 main weapons it's probably the worst but it's definitely not bad especially with a shield

I suggested adding a channel for questions and answers between players, that got added... To stop time on a Hytale server when no one is online, you can use the built-in /time pause command or edit the config.json file to set "IsGameTimePaused": true within the /universe/worlds/default/` directory
but you have to reenable it when someone joins again

Mint has it on lock down, performance is pretty good, 5 cpu cores, unlimited ram with a guaranteed 32gb if needed, we have usually around 8 players on at one time, only bad thing is i have had to set it US side, cos most of the players are from there, but performance has been good, i believe most of the issues with performance is the game engine and not the servers

Let me reclarify. That's just this session. I haven't even been playing hytale that much since launch, but I managed to get to Thorium tier (got stuck on the shadoweave cloth stuff as I have no cloo to get it). I've been looking for gold ore for a total of 12+ hrs

There isn't alot you can do with gold ore in game presently, unless your tier upgrade requires it.. you'll be better off looking for adamantite in zone 4 (volcanic region).
Of all the ores gold is one of the hardest to find, but adamantite is the one you really want.

Deffo, they probably use agile methodology to determine when a "feature" is released into main.. in agile, you never push an unfinished feature to the customer, which in this case is the release branch. They will have many more iterations on un-released (pre-release) features until these reach main (and are tested fully). The good news is the pre release branch is where we get to test, enmasse, all of the iterations that they want to let us see.. and most importantly, feed back any bugs for them to patch into release.
This makes for an exciting schedule that pleases everybody. But main (release) will always be behind for this reason. But that's all part of the process and in theory we just keep on getting a better game.

By that I mean, very early Minecraft just plonked you in the middle of nothing, all you had to do was build and survive. All of the later game updates gradually built on top of that in a way that meant you had a sort of forced/streamed line of progress to follow and there was enough time if you followed the updates to sometimes prepare ahead of times, so your play was semi-guided externally, with regular new saves because the game would drastically change.

Hytale already has a bunch of those elmements built in in a way that encourages progression from the same starting point of nothing, so there's an internal progression scheme encouraged, in a way that's developed to have to limit mass resets for the time being.

I finally found out how to use the shovel semi-reliably. You crouch, and slightly aim down, then press yourself against the dirt, and at the very least you'll be able to dig toplayers of dirt relatively quickly.

I could be wrong, but im pretty sure its actually using a tracer to determine what blocks are hit and its tied to animations. You have to kind of aim the swing through its arc and make the shovel hit the blocks. Same with the scythe. Its way more obvious what is happening when you use the scythe because of its wide, horizontal arcs

This way you could dig straight ahead with a 3x3, or straight down, depending on what you aim at.

Interesting, the idea of a voxel world transforming over time would definitely be a feature that'd be incredibly hard to implement, which coincides with the whole feature bloat that upended Hytale. Buuuut, I personally doubt it'd be something like that.

Things already get pretty dire the farther out from spawn you go. No reason to think zones 5 and 6 will be more habitable than a hell on earth

We dont have a proper void/horror biome. I could see a r'lyeh style lovecraftian biome being added that is fully taken over by void monsters.
We could also see a dinosaur/megafauna biome that has the last remnants of whatever the fossils in the desert are

Well, honestly, isn't that the whole problem with hytale dev? Like... which way you go? I'm a person that care very little about the whole adventure part (although in Hytale, the adventure and combat system are very enjoyable, so I may appreciate it more), other people play just because the whole adventure thing... other people like me... just want to play it like minecraft... but in a place where devs gives us vertical slabs

I mean, i feel like adventuring is baked in more to hytale's progression than in minecraft. You cant just dig down and have every resource you need to hit endgame.
Hytale strongly encourages going to other biomes and to explore dungeons to be able to progress. I dont see why we shouldnt expect more of that design philosophy as updates roll out

Nothing stopping you from just chilling in early game biomes and making cool stuff though.

I havent even found the deep dark in minecraft after like a month of playing after it released.
Thats part of what soured me so much on minecraft. All the new junk feels so superfluous. Like its tacked on and out of the way to the point where its actually detrimental to the game

Intrinsic vs extrinsic motivation isnt actually an attention span thing. Ive been playing doom for 28 years and i probably have tens of thousands of hours in hundredds of wads, but minecraft cant keep my attention for more than a few weeks at a time

Oh, it is not like we're playing every day, sometimes I take weeks off to play something else or not even play anything, but we always end up going back

I went several years without playing minecraft. I have very little intrinsic motivation. I dont get dopamine from building cool things solely because i built the thing. My brain needs challenges.
Thats a huge part of the psychology of how different games pull focus from different people. Intrinsic vs extrinsic factors.
The most addictive games will have a balanced mix of both that feed back into each other like skyrim. Games like minecraft that go all the way to one extreme can get a ton of longevity from players aligned with their motivations.
Thats why i have so many hours in doom and tf2.

Oh man, when I'm creating a world on a private server, it randomly spawns square-shaped regions and this blue one even spawned right in the middle of my house, ruining everything. I've got so many pictures of it because of this. It even spawned a random region on my farm. I hate this so much
