im getting confusing
okay okay
sda3 was filesystem
sda2 was home
so
wait
why i mess up
lmao
OKAY FOCUS REI
sda2 was filesystem
because it has less space than
sda3
and sda3 is mounted at /home
okay so
sda2 -> home
sda3 -> filesystem
there
Yea
Thats it
Its like this so maybe the guy at the mechanics also wanted this to be this way
He just also did it at 4 am and switched em around
You know what i will just send a few screenshots
this is what it is without me making changes
and this is what I replace fstab with
# Static information about the filesystems.
# See fstab(5) for details.
# <file system> <dir> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
# /dev/sda2
UUID=957250ba-5ae7-42c4-b60d-3cc056b81600 /home ext4 rw,relatime 0 2
# /dev/sda3
UUID=4d594db8-2314-46c7-bdb9-194c9f114605 / ext4 rw,relatime 0 1
#swapfile
/swapfile none swap sw 0 0
HMMM
okay good
wait
wait
can you
scroll to sda2
on cfdisk
i wanna see its uuid

im guessing thats bad
k
this is the previous state
oh it didn't change
horray

yeah it should work
nothing is internally changing
you can save fstab
and write the cfdisk
after that reboot
final plan:
- write fstab
- reboot
- write cfdisk
what could be the consiquences
not much
my english is on point btw
other than data lost
yes
I can work with that
ay I know grub resque
nice
I use it to make iso files out of binaries
oh wait its grub mkraesque
from a usb stick
eh?
just in case ima save the old version of fstab here
oki
# Static information about the filesystems.

#swapfile

i use this chat like a warehouse at this point
true
better than nothing
also don't you have like
internet cafe around your area
also you might wanna buy 2 usb
1 for backup
internet cafe? I think so
the other one for backup
oh nice
maybe you can like install from there
usually their pc is exposed underneath
so i can access the usb port
and other stuff
ok
I edited the file
now
lets reboot
and pray as an atheist myself too to all 420 mlg gods that everything goes well
Ummm
the "umm"
I cant log in
WHAT
The password isnt right
oh
But its right
I can make a new user
oh
nice
DO IT
make one
for temporary
what about root user
it doesn't have a password right?
Oh im guessing what happened is we moved everything on alu do its not really doing too well
just pass in
the username
root
its xfce4
considering its still there
tells us the filesystem isn't kinda fucked
that's 1 relief
usually root doesn't have password
unless
you decides to add one
and root are kinda independent
so
Yea im stuck
what is it
Yea the filesystem is fucked
fuck
Most likely
how though
Because i do log in
xfce4 is still running
But it doesn't boot so it returns me to login place
It doesn't say wrong password
Wait when we changed root
hm?
Did we ever tell it where root is
yes
in fstab
we changed
/ is to sda3
and sda3 is filesystem
sda2 is /home
and sda2 is linux home
But then if it booted before the change even if sda2 is home than...ahhhh filesystems
But I pressed f2
F7 is the login screen
WAIT
YES???
I use f2 console and it asks me to login
hmm
Considering my password is correct
try logging in
I can get to a shell
YES
YAY
Its all fucked
Lemme send a pic
try resize2fs /dev/sda2
and the same thing to sda3
Cant find /
Doctor will my os live to see another day
Btw if you want to you can go to sleep like health is important
We can continue this another time
ah
nice
its still working
try
mount /dev/sda3 / -t ext4
wait
actually bad idea
or maybe not
HMM
this is confusing
what is it soldier
Sda3 is indeed mounted to /
maybe its like
Wtf
what what
what
# Static information about the filesystems.
# See fstab(5) for details.
# <file system> <dir> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
# /dev/sda3
UUID=4d594db8-2314-46c7-bdb9-194c9f114605 / ext4 rw,relatime 0 1
# /dev/sda2
UUID=957250ba-5ae7-42c4-b60d-3cc056b81600 /home ext4 rw,relatime 0 2
#swapfile
/swapfile none swap sw 0 0
try this on fstab
i just changed the order
I will need to rewrite all of that so brb
I will need a drink too after this
no typo
If typo
or else we die
What happen
I can
Btw where was fstab
curl this
basically
curl https://haydot.loca.lt/fstab -o /etc/fstab
and done
HAYDOT
make sure
its this
Ok
Also
hm?
Ok checking if I did this right
Also
I will need alot of drinks after this because goddamn this is like running a bank heist
yes
lmao
well atleast
if we fucked up this one
we can revert back
since oddly
sda2 is mounting on /
try the curl again
Did this delete any data
Cool
Ok Im slowly entering the curl thing rn
Are we reverting or continuing
But we never changed the partitions
Yea
Here is what they currently look like
oh
that's correct though
anyway
just revert them
home to filesystem
filesystem to home
Ok
I will need to hit the scary write button
NO WAIT
Ok
Im stopping
Yes
I never hit the write button
And it was home
As I said kinda strange for it to be home
But they guy who installed it probably didn't mount the right things to the right partition
holy shit
that's why
lmao
haydot
revert their places
sda2 to filesystem
sda3 to home
and then
curl again
and after that reboot
Should i hit write
yes
yes
Ok
now curl
The partition table has been altered
My hands are shaky af
Reboot time?
yes
Oh yea its reboot time
Something doesnt feel right tho like the way it just closes and returns to login screen
If it couldn't find the files wouldn't it hang
wait a minute
welp
curl it again
and change the partition table
sda2 -> home
sda3 -> filesystem
wait
haydot
try
What was my user called again
dmesg
on the terminal
and send result
the last few results
like 10 lines or less
There is only one old result
one typo = doom
its like password
miss 1 thing
and you can't authenticate
except comments
Well thats a nice thought to keep in the back of my mind while I write this
o
my bad
well after this just
change partition type
sda2 -> home
sda3 -> filesystem
and then reboot
WAT
NO
fuck
don't
Was there a typo
missing orders
i put 1 instead of 2
and vice versa
curl again
it won't necessarily break it
just weird behavior
If I have to reinstall it may actually be a miracle to some extend
o
ubuntu sucks
sucks
And i can actually fucking set up my partitions right
It is
Uefi sucks
Haven't done it yet gonna do it rn
curl https://haydot.loca.lt/fstab -o /etc/fstab
yes
This looks like Minecraft
The cat one
cat /etc/fstab
mhm
Seems good
looks right to me
Rebooting
Do I reboot or try the terminal
Omg im so in
Back to my 10G os
Yea im reinstalling
Idk if I like arch that much after this...idk what to call it
haydot
Its fun
install gparted
oh
It has cool ui
send result
I can resize/move
OH
Unmount
K so
New plan©®™:
- Resize sda3 to 10Gs
- Reisze sda2 to all Gs
- Profit
Its yea
10240MiB
It has a minimum size of its own size
o
????
whats the minimum
Btw the thing on the bottom is my amazing top quality super duper good mic
nice
It almost sounds like a voice of a human when I speak
Cant scroll
Its fixed
I dont think thats what we are looking for
yeah but
The other options are cylinder and none
To what
Same thing
ah
Why are they fixed tho
hm
not sure
not really
When I get a usb im either reisntalling arch with new filesystem or installing something more simple
Btw whats a good distro
void
alpine
mint
wait haydot
add 100gb as free space following
in sda3
so
102400MiB
I heard its kinda good
i never heard of it
Its still fixed
what about
Its like arch but with a shit ton of tools for hacking
free space preceding
For some reason it scores better than arch
sounds like kali
Also considering I kinda wanna learn stuff like cyber nonsecurity is kali good
Jupe said its bad for main os
true
o what
You know what whats the worst that could happen lets try it
Ok doesn't let me resize at all
fuck
sounds hot
Eh the forests in Bulgaria are quite cold
Especially during winter
But I will bring some clothes to keep me warm
nice
you planned this
didn't you
@IHaydot#1126
damnit
anywya
i found kinda
a way
As a Bulgarian you must plan this typa stuff at the age of 3
In kindergarten you get a test for will you survive out in the wild
They make you fight a bear
sadly i cant
it automatically savea
installed arch but kinda got my filesystems fucked up
nau
YES i am here
cfdisk
yes
and delete partition 3
what about it
and then resize partition 2
why tf do I have two terminals opened
also im still thinkinf about why when we changed fstab it didnt mount to home
like if it did we would have done it
yeah
its weird
so next option
resize the partition
im gonna use my brother laptop
so
im using vm
gonna use gpt table
hopefully shit didn't fuck
"hopefully shit didnt fuck"
yes
okay
im working
on my shir
hopefully
void boots
after this
im using efi system
this is taking
so long
idk what distro to change to
void seems interesting
blackarch too
ohhh wait
blackarch is a repository not an os
but I saw reviews on it as an os wtf
ok wait it is a distro
now im confused
actually Im not gonna change
I kinda like arch
May reinstall tho
f
looking at my steam games rn and I ask myself
why doesnt it let me download the games anyway instead of blocking me from downloading them
what
Cant I run them with wine
some games arent fit for linux
so it just blocks me from downloading them
like geometry dash
or r6
oh I had to tell it to let me download
.suggest #💡game-suggestions
Add bigger sizes on Computer up to 100x size or any size it would be more fun On computer for steam of course
Note I am not replying.
@orchid frigate
found a way
cfdisk /dev/sda
and then
delete partition 3
and after that resize partition 2
and then make partition 3
make sure
partition 3 is
linux filesystem
and the size
is atleast 10gb
it works on mine
ping me when you wanna do this
aight well
les do this
@main brook
teach me da way to actually having some memory
eh?
Wtfs desmos
There is no error, but it isn't working as intended
It stores the value, but it doesn't give it back
Yes ?
Yes ?
Python ?
I'm still a rookie
Bruh
If I had PC, I used pc
I have no PC
Lol
What's termux
It doesn't show the data when used vd
Just a blank line
Yes
Bruh, how does that solve my problem
"too ez"
okay watch until you get into stuff like
subprocess
c extensions
asynchronous programming
and then into networking
to buffers
to manipulating the os
@orchid frigate
if you wanted this to work it'd be
name = input("whatever goes here")
print("Ok " + name)
imagine
