No, you killed them for a specific reason, but it's in their subspecies.
Only the pure characteristic is required for the sacrifice, elves just happen to have it from the beginning.
I let a zombie war play out while evolving as many animals to keep up with their own civilizations, and cause i wanted to see if they made different looking zombies. Then necromancer and evil mage got involved through a disaster event.
Then I got awarded the pure attribute somehow, so I gave it to all of them and provided a lava bath.

Easiest way is to get acid gentlemen blobs because they have genetic mirror. Make one king, give them a bunch of traits, have them have a kid with the saxophone power, and then kill that king so the kid takes over

You can try the iceberg size which is the biggest you can make in-game. Spam some civilizations and let it run, see if it gets any slower

I'm not sure how complex but popular ones include Modernbox which adds tanks and skyscrapers and other stuff, or Sandbox which lets you place buildings and tweak the game further
