The only species that have earned my respect other than humans after the update is the monkey people. I basically turned most of their island mad like 4 times (each after exceeding a population of 600-900) and they still bounced back to a population higher than before (I was concerned they were going to wipe out the humans up north but I let them live cuz man I haven't seen a species so resilient before)

I play needlessly complicated games like caves of qud and dwarf fortress, stellaris definitely takes getting used to especially with dlc on, there’s like 24+ dlc or something
