All of the human species brain traits given to another species lets them become a civilisation

Also the monolith will make certain creatures evolve into a humanoid version that can make civilisations

You will just need to also adjust their subspecies so they also are able to not starve and reproduce correctly

Having to pay $12 just so you can generate a world with something other than Humans, Bandits, and Plague Doctors, is not worth it. Especially when there are entire 10+ hour indie games for that much. I’m gonna save my money.

If it was $5 or even $6 I’de definitely go for it. But $12 is the price of a whole indie game and this just aint worth it for a sandbox game that you can’t even test.

It reminds me of when Minecraft had a demo version that made the game look worse to play than the game itself. It’s better not to have a demo at all if your demo makes the actual game less appealing.

What’s the point of any of that if you can’t even test any of it out? It would have been way smarter to just make the game paid instead of leading people on. This is stuff so many game devs seem to get wrong. Ninja Kiwi had to learn the hard way too. Sometimes it’s better just to make it paid instead of making your game push players away with a bad demo.

Some tips I have are if you spawn a creature next to an existing one it will take the subspecies of the nearby version of it, allowing you to artificially keep the species alive

There is one caveat to this which is a bit prohibitive in terms of its neural system though as from what i understand they do not update the table of neurons. So there isn't any training their brains (no learnable connections between them, no back-prop?) it's still a bit like the rule based system but a bit more dynamic. The test is done.

I let the game run at 40x speed for 8 hours to see if my diverse world would end up with 10+ species. The answer is no.

The game will devolve to Skeletons. Everything is skeletons.

Even though every single biome is cut off from every other biome in this world. All of it is just skeletons. Not even the aliens survived.

This tells me one thing. If you do not have what you want within the first 500 years. You will never get it.

The first 500 years is the only thing that matters. Everything past that will just slowly devolve to skeletons and all the biomes will turn into wasteland.

What this tests results tells me is that regardless of whatever you do with genome to ensure something forms civilization, they will never actually amount to anything and will always die out. It’s a sandbox game with only one ending. It tells me that this game is definitely not for me. With that. I’m done. Thanks for all the help and discussions. It was somewhat fun while it lasted.

Okay I decided to try again with some major changes to my rules as well as mega boosting any new societies I want to last.

I managed to get sentient Wolves which is awesome but holy crap they are the dumbest species known to man. Because they are carnivores, I need to keep feeding them with rabbits, and even though they are sentient, they are not smart enough to put two and two together that maybe just maybe you shouldn’t eat your only food source into extinction.

If anything I think this is the game’s oversight. Why does every single society use farming? That is so unrealistic it makes it kind of a joke. Who’s to say every society farms? Who’s to say they do farm? Why are Bees which I have many of, farming wheat? Shouldn’t they farm flowers? Why are snowman farming at all? What are you even eating? Your a damn snowman!?

They spent the time adding custom buildings for each and every species but not making custom farming. Seems weird to me.

If this strategy pays off though, I may be in the game after all.

• curing it with divine light or removing the trait
• placing them in the village you want them to be part of
  (Do all this while the game is paused)

After you unpause the game they will become part of the village they are in

But I also remember and easier way in the process

On the last tab the one called “…” or “other various powers” you can find “gold dust” if you spray that on the unit you want they will forget their kingdom for a while you can then place them on whatever village you want and as long as the unit stays there they will become a citizen of that village
