the southpole goes to the Orcs

mostly because the orcs are often the first to be wiped and I feel they deserve a little bit more protection

It's not just you, i feel as if the options that are there for world generation are ment for weak phones or devices with weak hardware

it seems like a daft decision to completely remove the ability to make custom size worlds

and for a weak phone the gigantic option is big

but for me personally it's small

pretty sure the bot has a command where you can see the size of the map

Due to the different chunk size

You now have to divide it by 64 to get the correct map size

This includes 2 .exe files, 2 aco files, the python code, and an imgs folder.

The convertor takes a selected image and converts it to a map.json. map.json gets placed from where-ever you got the image from, and the preview gets placed in the imgs folder.

ImageToMap.exe will generate maps on standard tiles such as "Grass, Deep ocean, Mountains"

ImageToMap++.exe will generate maps with standard & additional tiles such as "Roads, Fields, Fireworks, Lava"

.ACO files contain the colors for each convertor.
You can view these files if you don't have photoshop by going to: https://aco-viewer.appspot.com/

imgs is for storing the latest preview.png

The python files are the source code and you can make edits and run them independently of the exe. (Note that changes to the python doesn't change the exe)

Some tips:

Dithering is useful for good image conversions (Especially with imagetomap++), but not good for map playing.

ImageToMap++ is good for customized maps and detailed images, however ImageToMap is good for standard maps and will not produce any unusual tiles like lava and fireworks.

Another way to download maps is Copy the code from the notepad from the one ur downloading, make a save on worldbox, delete that code, paste the code from the one you copied, load the game and enjoy

@next hamlet The river seperating the US and Mexico is there as I initially set out to just make the US but later decided to add Mexico and Canada. The reason I made a river between them is because I planned on just adding zombies to Canada and Mexico to prevent people spreading into them in a simulation, But also because it is a unique way of showing the nation borders. But I like the idea of adding the Mississippi river and will definately add it sooner rather than later.

Save file sharing for Mac

1. Open up the finder and press the go button in the top left. In that section, press on go to folders

2. In the finder, a search bar should appear. Type “~/Library/Application Support/osx/“ without the quotation marks

3. Multiple folders should appear. Click on the one that says “com.mkarpenko.WorldBox” without the quotation marks

4. In that, there should be many folders. Click on the one that says “saves” again, without the quotation marks.

5. There will be many folders that say something like “save1” or “save2”. Find the highest number, then create a new folder that’s one number higher then that number.

6. Open up the folder, and drop the preview and map.json into the folder. The map.json must be named map.json for the world to work.

7. Open the game and load the works with the right preview, and you can play your maps!

you can replace save1

or create a folder called save2

and put the map in it

note without a preview.png in the save folder it will appear blank with a blue background on the save slot, but you can click on it and click load (if done properly)

Does anyone have a mobile friendly Earth Map?

Small enough to be non laggy but big enough for the shapes and regions to be realistic

mobile friendly can be different for every user so it doesn't really help asking for mobile friendly maps

for example my phone can run 17x17 maps

but maybe someone else can only run 10x10 maps on their phone
