For normal islands make a weird outline in water with shallow water, fill it with sad, then layer it with plains soil. Then layer the plains soil with forest soil. Do this for every island you want, sizing it up to you, and never perfectly follow the outlines. Then run it over with the vortex tool. Now, if everything looks good, save it, then unleash earthquakes. They will either lower or raise the ground, making amazing rivers and mountains. Load the save and retry as needed to make it look awesome. Put your own finishing touches, and add a few small hill tiles, or beach rocks, to the sand. As for unique islands, it’s completely up to your experimentation and ideas
