Your map is great for a regional map, I'd recommend adding forest along the river it's not really a realistic thing as that could be lowlands but aesthetically it looks nice, ID Also avoid just having flat out plains try to incorporate a little tiles here & about use the vortex tool if needed

After doing this, have them fight against multiple skeletons.

Don’t help them

If they die start over.

Once they get to enough level to have veteran.

You pit them up against each other.

After this, The strongest one of the group should remain.
