Haha
Infantry was great. Sucked at times but it was great
True, maybe it’s just me losing my shit
Lmao
This is actually true
I don't think they'd beat people, I think it would just be actual smoke sessions coming back
Feels like every kid these days has problems with authority
See I'm just happy because if we have conscription I already have my job locked in and I'm in the rear with the gear most of the time
Absolutely nothing will ever compare to leading boys in combat and having them trust you without hesitation thru the gates of hell. Sounds corny but it’s an indescribable feeling knowing you were trusted that much
Yeah fuck that I'm Stupid as shit
Being a combat medic has MF’s thinking I’m Jesus and I can make shit happen with a snap of my fingers
I really hate it
Stateside/peacetime army is nearly unbearable after those experiences. You hate them but you hate not being in them when it’s said and done.
Bro when I was a PFC I had a LT Col asking me about medical operations
I always thought doc was Jesus.
Glad you didn't have to see the truth then
Can’t save them all
Might be sad realization when shit hits the fan
Oh I saw the truth but never lost faith in doc. He always took it the hardest
Doc was harder than woodpecker lips. Humping a 60lb medic bag around with only an M9….balls
Medics back then carried even less
I swear to god as time goes on we end up carrying more and more shit
My aid bag is 60lbs minimum not counting if im carrying shit like whole blood
Plus I have an M4 and an M17
At one point I had an M26 shotgun strapped on my aidbag lol
It’s kinda shitty
No doubt
Doc refused to carry anything more than the m9…he always said his rifle was keeping ours going. I respected it
It’s admirable but it’s tactically unsound
It’s basically one less gun
Honestly I think it was just the thing then. All our medics could carry a rifle…wasn’t forced…all chose M9s only. Never saw one in my 8 years and all combat deployments carry a rifle
Maybe it was the fad
When I was armor dismounted medics are expected to carry their M4’s because the TC provides security for the jump medics and vice versa
During a firefight the medic ain’t gonna start treating until fire superiority is established, that means the medic is also returning fire instead of just sitting and waiting around
It’s a common misconception that medics don’t fight, this ain’t WW2 where we wear red crosses and are supposed to be considered non combatants
Plus that shit just made medics into targets
Most medics these days blend in with the 11B’s to avoid getting picked off
I don’t wear medical identifiers unless I’m part of an Evac crew or something
Ya I also never saw any type of identifier. The identifier was the giant ranger green couch on his back
Most bad ass dudes I ever witnessed were flight medics. We took several casualties one day when we ate a dismounted ied that kicked off small arms ambush. Had to drag casualties down the street with hasty window curtain litters shooting my M4 one handed all the way to LZ. Bird sitting in middle of street with flight medics standing there next to two litters on ground just holding M9s. Rounds skipping around all over the place. It was like a movie scene from we were soldiers or something. Those dudes were statues in all that gunfire
Flight medics are a different breed
Lowkey sometimes I miss the line but I’m also older now with a lot of injuries
I remember the scene
From the movie
it is extremely dog shit
my uncle has been one for like, 14-15 years now?
dudes a fuckin beast
Ya bro. That was probably one of the most impressive thing i witnessed overseas.
We have a medic grenadier in our company. It's ridiculous.
I need to start investing in some but I keep buying guns
Same problem over here, our corporals and up are starting to think of ways to discipline them properly so they don't get assfucked by higherups when we get a batch of conscripts to our BN, from what I overheard you can't really even force them to do pushups and other activities unless it's in the training program
Meanwhile when I was in BCT they made us do phyisical activities when someone fucked up or some other shit, like if you forgot your pen to class they just gave you a sharpened tree branch that you had to carry around, forgot a compass ? now you get to carry just a big disk of wood with a string attached, same shit for if you left a gun somewhere
Bro I remember when you weren’t shaved for formation dudes walking around wearing a razor around neck like a necklace.
Or you lost your dog tags. Dudes wearing giant cardboard dog tags around company area like a week
get medical
real NAR TQ pls
When I say I need some gear, I don't have shit
I am looking for a nice set of NVG's but haven't really done a ton of research, I been too busy.
Not going to lie, I often don’t understand why so many spend so much on tac gear. If it’s for work I get it but if it’s just to run around on a range occasionally I just don’t get it
Maybe my opinion was formed from running around in kit for so long for a paycheck but if it’s not for a paycheck I don’t see the need for it
I semi-agree
If you are going to the range with your buds to just plink metal, you shouldn't be full kit 😂
I do see some benefits of doing drills in full kit if you want to train for when shit hits the fan.
But if you are posting LARP pics at a public range in full kit, that's pretty sad.
I just don’t ever see this SHTF world in chaos survival scenario that people are “training” for.
Too far fetched of an idea to me
I blame AMC for making The Walking Dead on this
you don't want to be the guy without training in that scenario 🤷
I doubt any civilian needs to be learning how to clear rooms but if you got the time and money for it, why not
Nonsense created by television and excellent marketing by smart companies who never let a good disaster go to waste
Always.
Most of these people who train for "when SHTF" most likely will either die within 2 days, or just won't get to their gear, because it will hit the fan when you are doing something outdoors besides going to the range, if you are looking at apocalypse scenario, your neighbours that know that you have that shit will probably come over and take it from you
I get having a small kit ready just in case, i'd want that for myself too ( can't buy guns here without license and i cant be fucked enough to get one ), but getting shit like hella expensive nods or thermals is meh imho
Even if i'd get my own kit it would be useless to me because I would get called into the base anyways and get my full loadout, so except when i leave the military it mostly would be waste of money
@compact dagger how does one train for it
What I'd prioritise in training for such scenario, would be more of survival and less on stuff like house clearing and direct combat, like how to fish/hunt with resources you can find in the wild, how to make a good hidden shelter, what plants could be used for food and/or medical application of plants, at least in the area that you live in, definitely first aid courses
Because those skills could be useful even if you go out on a hike and can't get back and need to survive until someone finds you
Or you get to participate in Mr.Beast survival videos

Suggestions for land compasses?
He's the best.
SILVA MILITARY - COMPASS 5-360/6400 GLOBAL
Been using for a couple years now, no complaints so far
They’ve been to battlefields all over the world. As the U.S. Military’s official compass manufacturer, Cammenga’s Tritium Lensatic Compasses have proven themselves repeatedly in almost every kind of environment and situation. With each compass, you carry the added assurance of Tritium-based, self-powered lighting that
That’s the US standard issue. Never failed me
Never understood how to use one, thankfully we didn't get these ones issued to us
Super super simple to use once you receive like a 5 minute block of instruction
Does it have a peep for azimuth readings
Looks good but that isn't a field compass
Ya that’s the little black circle in front
Awesome
You didn't do land nav
It’s folded down slightly with slight aiming notch on top to align with sight wire in front for accurate azimuth shots
nah we use different compasses, from what I understand you fold it somehow and then get a reading
idk
was funny when someone bought a compass like that and didn't know how to use it

I just keep forgetting when to add or take off some degrees
I mix it up when going from map to reality and vice versa
for my primary I use my ATAK/Garmin
Alternate I use my garmin watch
Contingency I use the regular green tritium compass
Emergency I use terrain association and the sky
What makes a field compass?
with ATAK/Garmin you mean those square garmins ?
forgot the name of it
foretex
that's it
Foretex
My ATAK is a samsung S10 of some kind, dont know what he is using
I used a Casio pathfinder digital compass watch in 2007 to call in a danger close mortar mission…I trusted it a lot
When I took one foretex for myself on last training i was just confused on how to use it, had some of the older guys to show me basic features
The future is now old man
But I ended up not needing it, didn't have a reason to tell our coordinates to anyone
Haha
But it's safer to use a backup, because for some reason Fenix 7x likes to show your old coordinates first
But in reality I need it for calling in medevac birds, not gonna disadvantage myself by not being able to spit out my 10 digit grid on a whim
When someone’s dying
Lol
So you may go 100s of km away, but first time you open the coordinate page it will show the ones from last time you opened it
I’m still using my fenix 5x
It’s 6 years old now
i got my 7x 2 years ago
don't regret it, even tho at the time it was my whole paycheck for the month
but im not financially challenged like other people i serve with, I can save up money
They sell these in the PX for heavily discounted prices during Black Friday and stuff
Huge upside of me getting a 7x is that it has a flashlight and a redlight
Ya I had my Garmin etrex and my pathfinder. My squad and another squad with attached gun got sent out on patrol looking for a downed predator drone in a very unfriendly area. We got to the second structure at the edge of the town and hit absolutely lit up by multiple weapon systems from the direction of our movement. I was rooftop directing 240 and 203 fires and sent that mission to my PL downstairs. We broke contact under rounds being fired overhead. Scary as hell. Dec 20 2007 will never forget that date
Idk about earlier garmins but at least 7x can be used for both military and civ
Long ass battery life, looks good, can get wallet and music on it, and bunch of features for sports
even HAHO/HALO but not like i'll ever get to use them
I used the jumpmaster feature a lot lol
You are saying that to a guy from a country that barely has any aircraft of their own
Makes me sad : *(
nice CQB
No do it where they shoot back
From what I have seen the most realistic cqb is nade spam and pre firing everything
Exactly what we do lol
Not this rehearsed bullshit for Instagram
Ehhh. Tritium. Eye level azimuth readout. Hand held. Compact.
Weatherproof
this is a forward observations clip innit
yuh
sorry, was out fixing my car
or just level the building with a tank
Our standard became if we took contact from a structure we backed out and let the Apaches put hellfires thru the roof or fast movers put JDAMs thru it
The biggest threat in the American military is always the radioman
Talking an Apache into a target was a good feeling
New patch
bro this vid is the coldest vid ive seen in a long while
This
No worries of the ricochets?
@old portal any comments?
We didn’t blind fire or frag corners. That’s especially reckless in the built-up urban areas we were fighting in. Real world CQB on a 2 way range isn’t as slow and methodical as these videos portray but it’s also not indiscriminate shooting and fragging.
It’s sometimes hard living with the weight of the people I killed overseas and it’s been a long time. I don’t want to think how heavy that weight would be if it was people that didn’t deserve to die
Yeah can't imagine that
I would like to point out that I have never been to war and all my knowledge of modern day cqb had come from combat footage of the stuff going on in Israel
I haven’t followed or kept up with the fighting in Ukraine and Israel so I have no clue how it’s being fought
In 20 years I've never cleared a building and civilians were inside. We tell everyone we'll ahead of time to gtfo. Leaflets. Texts. Phone calls.
Special missions with element of surprise is another story. I don't do that stuff lol
Always
My combat deployments were the opposite experience. Of the hundreds of structures we cleared a large majority of them were occupied. We tossed lots of bangers.
That's wild
Puts y'all at immense risk
Human shield taking is another level of evil
Our unit lost 32 KIA during the ‘07 deployment. It was not an easy task
May their memories be blessed.
Ah alright, never heard the term before. I can see how the tritium and eye level azimuth is useful. The one i sent is the one i was issued and has worked well in field conditions.
Thanks for clearing it up for me
If you have your coordinates the azimuth of your target and a lazed range you can quickly get coordinates of your target for CAS artillery anything
Any fellow Multicam enjoyers?
What do you do for work? I assume this kit is for that purpose
PMC, and sometimes LARPing in airsoft if I’m in the mood to run around with a heavy plate carrier. Might be taking it to Ukraine, but that’s still up in the air currently.
Where phone
guys
I found someone selling brand new unopened M32 mod3s
60$, retails here for 100
should I go for it?
Thought they were like $70
Pmc eh
Yup. I remember we were using them as basically chest rigs before MOLLE came out. It was set up so the buckle was on the side and you stacked 4 of those mag pouches side by side across the front and wore it high up on the chest with the harness shortened up
Then it transitioned into just hanging the ALICE pouches off of the IBA shortly before we started getting MOLLE in around 04
Kinda similar to this
But it was still all attached to the LCE pistol belt with the belt clip set up on the side
@plush topaz what do i do with my new 9mm pcc
My dad still has all his gear from when he was stationed in like the 80s
One of my dad's favorite things to mention about the alice rig is that everybody was using 30 round pouches, with 20 round mags cus they're lighter and easier to get in trucks with
And he always said there was just enough room in the pouch to fit an apple on top of your mags, and still clip the pouch shut
Reckon you should shoot it.
Preferably a lot.
Managed to get his helmet out too
Idk its a speingfield, i kinda want to sell it
Nice setup
I just run a beofeng on mine. It’s broken so it’s just there for looks lol
I've got comtacs with a downlead
Just haven't bought a radio yet cause I haven't felt like spending 120 on a ptt
Nice. I need to get a new helmet setup cuz my current one is the one 15 year old me bought. (It’s not good)
I need to replace the helmet itself
What’s ur current helmet
Same lol
or a ballistic idk yet
thats M31s
i like those glasses
What is it bruh
Scuba stuff?
This is not a marketplace, please do not try and sell stuff here
oh ok sorry
@muted lynx I've driven my 4runner like four times since November
I bet you anything it starts up like nothing happened when I'm home weds
Regulator for hpa builds too set the pressure so u get the right fps

Aw thanks
Too bad my back doesn't feel younger when I'm wearing all that shit

never. i’ll die for you people in europe, not the middle east 😂
How come. I'll buy you a beer.
*4 I want one too
But why
Baby grizzly
It’s official folks, Ukrainian Foreign Legion 3 months from now.
Anybody else here veteran/active military with any tips on what I should be bringing?
What’s your previous tactical experience?
inb4 none
My condolences ☹️
I swear to god I hope this message doesn’t include airsoft anywhere in it
"I went to milsim west one time"
condor and baofeng
I didnt know the Foreign Legion was still a thing in Ukraine, didn't that get absolutely blasted in the first weeks of the war? What even made you go there?
To be fair if they accepted him he probably has some form of actual experience
Lots of socks
I think they stopped accepting straight cannon fodder awhile ago
If you’re looking to do something worthy and you are not a veteran then enlist in your own military. If you’re not directly affected by this Ukrainian conflict as in a Ukrainian national or something and especially if you have no previous combat experience my best advice is don’t go.
Contractor.
proficient in a multitude of small arms. Worked with the M4 and AK platform primarily. Along with the M203. Experience with light and medium machine guns as well.
Worked on ships off the coast of Somalia for a while. Multiple CQB classes and live fire training. Have been fired at and returned fire.
Just the most basic shit anybody should have if they’re applying really.
Cant wait to see the criminals Ukraine stated they will deploy on the battlefield 😊
lol
I’ve heard this one all too well lol
I dont want to be pessimistic and ive never served or whateva but I really dont know how much is it worth to get deployed there
but for real good idea to bring good sleeping equipment, good weather gear because it gets cold as fuck and the bugs can be bad, bring good sets of clothing, make sure you are bringing good eyepro and ear pro for backup incase yours are bunk, you're gonna get backwater shit so be ready for most of it to be needing upgrades, a lot of guys are getting helmet vest rig ammo and thats pretty much it, take some medical classes before you go too
When people talk about the drone situation there I really doubt thwy are joking most of the time
🍿
Might just eat a 155 shell the moment I step off the vehicle transporting me haha
hope not 😭
Better way to go than killing myself :D
Why not just enlist instead?
I know a shit ton of enlisted guys, I’m not working for that command structure lol
Idk man Id rather shoot myself with a 9mm in my head and end it on the spot than experiencing a mortar or artillery shrapnel passing through my abdomen only to die out of bleeding whole 2 minutes later
You do know you're still dealing with a shit command structure right but you're just getting shot at
That’s why I wear a IIIA abdomen panel
You do realize that right?
Oh yeah
the foreign legions are treated as absolute fucking cannon fodder
Dude, I wanna be dead, at least I’m doing something for this world that way
longer, probably. gut wounds are slowww
Well I'm noping out of this conversation
Yeah, gut wounds fucking suck
Wear ya damn shrapnel vest
So you think it’s a better idea to join a unit lead by and filled by complete and total strangers you’ve never worked, have no idea their competency level with having zero combat experience but then going into potentially close quarters combat with them? I just highly recommend reconsidering this
That’s civilian contracting as well haha (minus the CQB)
What do I honestly do that would be better though
Anti-poaching in Africa
I would not want to go into CQB with anyone I haven't trained with for a long fucking time.
I mean, preferably I wouldn't go into cqb at all, but you win some you lose some
Those guys see a lot of action
That’s how you get your head cut off and posted on the internet
The one good thing that is over there cqc just involves grenades
A lot of grenades
a prohibitively high amount of grenades
like dump pouches full of grenades
Fuck ton of frags, frag a room before you clear
Serve your own country’s military. Be productive to your country and not get involved with unrelated wars because you have FOMO
Your point man isn't the first guy in the stack, it's actually a frag grenade
did you not read what I just said
I was agreeing with you?
I’m ensuring me country’s military doesn’t send American troops to their deaths if Ukraine goes sideways
Armor is good but it doesnt have a bigass magnet strapped on it which draws all potential shrapnel towards it
I mean the odds you’ll end up on the internet are pretty good in any conflict these days, so
This is some ass backward logic if I've ever seen it
I do have a big ass magnet, for a breaching shotgun tho
i was affirming what you said, not countering it
Care to elaborate?
no because I'll get banned
DMs lol
having fomo for arguably the most fucked war we've seen this century is wild
Whats FOMO?
fear of missing out
To be fair we are going to garrison
Lol
and it's not like it's a low bar either
DW it ain’t fomo, we’ve still got Taiwan to worry about
See I think everyone here needs to scroll up and see why he's doing this
Because that rationale is not smart
I hope thats not why he signed that contract
Not the keeping Americans out of war thing cause that's just stupid i'm talking about the thing he said before that
Trust me bro it’s already gone sideways and combat isn’t what you think, especially when you’re fighting in a conflict you have no skin in the game for and you are fighting with dudes that you basically don’t know.
Oh I saw it, and as someone who's struggled with those ideations, tendencies, and attempts in the past, it's actually so fucking dumb
I mean I don’t agree with the rationale but I respect it
That’s contracting as an entirety still
There are so many things I want to say but I'll get banned
no
Tell me if the glorious ways I shall fertilize a trench after eating a direct 155
This is either some high-level bait or this dude's gonna get mulched by a 105 and posted on twitter in a few months
That’s joke
@snow scarab if your up, have a laugh
Not suicidal strangely enough
I am leaning towards bait
Fucking read up man
If you think going to a meatgrinder might be your only purpose left then please try to look further in life and find an actual purpose to live
Let me get you a link
honestly the furry going to ukraine is so fucking hysterical
Do you have any friends family etc?
my purpose to live is pure unadulterated spite at this point
Family, a few friends
The contracting you’ve done is nothing compared to what you’ll likely encounter in Ukraine. One of my team leaders after he got out did one contract tour on board ship off coast of Somalia. I’m not trying to be a dick but he said it was an actual joke
Do you appreciate them?
Indeed
War is hell. I'll count my life lucky if I never have to fight one
Compared to real cqb, absolutely.
When I was a kid I dreamed about joining the military and going into combat. Then I grew up.
So why do you want to become a war tool for some fucked command structure and lose those friends and family
Like hands down you may survive
Ask that to any US armed services vet
I don't agree with the rationale, but I can respect it
But think of the stress that your friends and family would have during your deployment
I still think it's stupid, but I can see the point
@low fox if you don’t mind me asking, you got a picture of what you are bringing?
Dude no he's asking for what he should bring
Same as the thousands who served overseas
please be condor please be condor please be condor please be condor
wheeze
i need to laugh
not gonna outright deny what you’ve been saying however lots of shit ain’t lining up. ik personally im a maniac that would love to get shot at but i imagine my mind would change when i actually see combat
And how many of those thousands returned home?
Dude like 90% join for college
The joke that they got lost on their way to college is not a meme it's the reason why a majority of people join
yes, so i would like to see his kit and what not of what he is bringing
that and citizenship
Do you think joining a rag tag bunch of probably half of wannabes in a foreign country will be a better command structure
SKD PIG plate carrier, not a shitty condor MOPC
I thought about going army, AF, or natty just to pay for my college lol
A lot of those conscripts or mercenaries or whatever join because theyve got nothing to lose or need the money or god knows what else

No
The post at 11 as long as you're on 90 days of active duty service will pay for literally all of your college
But you do have something ro lose
it's like 36 months
Yeah I just found out I'm medically ineligible to serve anyway
got a picture of how you have it set up
Ive seen at least a few of those vets regret this decision after deployment and a lot of them get scarred for life
If it doesn't have ball and neck protection I'm going to laugh
I originally wanted to enlist in Army and go 68W
Because it won't because it's a pig
at least it's not a pig brig i guess
the skd pig sucks
Well my last advice is this is stupid idea and don’t do it.
Yeah but the brig is slightly worse
seeing a lot of LBTs on that area now
Its his choice indeed and I cant just unsign his contract but I think its important for him to realise that it might not be as worth it as he could think it is
Here it is, yes airsoft mags, whooping meal team 6 with my minimal training is enjoyable
Oh don't get me wrong I think it's still a fucking stupid idea, but I can respect the moral aspect and the idea behind it
that's because lbt dumped it to get load onto the market
and kind of became the standard
I've also been seeing a lot of those mid tier crye clones
we're at the point you can wear whatever you want and call it a russian impression kit
EmersonGear
In either case he will be amidst a bunch of unonowns. At least in the foreign legion he could speak english with the strangers imo
Put the TQ in an enclosed pouch
I would like to point out foreign legion, at least as far as I know, only really accepts people with mil/leo experience or adjacent
not like the early stages of the war where they took anyone
Hasn’t snagged yet, might do that
bro..
its not for snagging lmao
UV degrades TQs and increases risk of failure
That was only initially
Gives it a higher chance to snap when you're putting it on
Did I have it backwards and now they take anyone?
I’ve got a primary one of my belt that’s covered, but fair point
They only accepted guys with experience then, it was really selective and then some idiot took a geotagged location photo and then got them all blown up
I know what you’re referring to, and I don’t think so
It’s not about snagging. It’s about not having the Velcro completely destroyed from hours upon hours of prone under fire and it not holding when you need it because it was needlessly exposed to the elements
When the dude brings an MPU-5 or PRC-152 and gets his entire platoon tagged by a 155
That’s fair
No it was worse he took a geotagged location on Instagram with like hashtag foreign Legion or something like that and the Russians were like oh and then blew it up
Snapchat selfie was worth it tho 😛
Yeah I remember that lol, I was making a joke about how having nice radios has gotten guys blown up
Aren’t MPU-5s like $15k lmao
Do you know my personal favorite is that all you need to do was take A cell phone tagger initially and then you could ping where all the sim cards were and you overlaid that on where your guys were and then you bombed everything else
Cuz their bandwidth and power signature doesn't blend into the civilian electronics around and sticks out like a sore thumb
give or take
How can people communicate with radios these days anyway if the enemy can tap in?
encryption
It's not about them tapping in, crypto is pretty good
the problem is that you can figure out where they're transmitting from by having three different towers
Encrypted…something he won’t have access to most likely.
so all you need is just three different stations that can pick up radio signal And then you can measure the direction and distance based on how long it takes to ping
Basically having a wide band to prevent jams and good AES encryption
155 shell time!
You then blow them all the way to fucking kingdom come
you're being so nonchalant about this but my guy if you're not shit posting you just enlisted into this
Oh I know damn well what I signed up for
Yeah I'm just gonna rule this as fucking bait and go continue playing something
Fair enough
It's a double edged sword, the nicer radios will stick out from civilian wifi and power signatures but have encryption, cheap radios will blend in but can get tapped really easily
Sorry bro but you’re not mature enough for the experience you’re seeking. You come off as the private that thinks he’s ready for the shit until he steps in it. Combats cool until it isn’t
Just my opinion
real boot shit
Especially the disregarding the opinion of a literal combat vet
But you do you
Yeah, I’ve definitely come off as being that, will agree with ya there
When the target papers are able to shoot back 😳
nah bro id win, i do flat range drills you dont get it
ill have you know i have over 500 wins on warzone. you wouldnt get it you fucking civvy
Go outside
Planning to be outside, in a trench
prolly not for long realistically
My AR has a double trigger boostplonger on it vro! I also got a shiny bigass scope on it and a tripod
i bought the scopeswitch bro, russians wont even know what hit em
Rolling out with the last gen night vision goggle only to get shot by a random guy with a thermal camera from Temu 😍
LOL
Dropping 3-4k on PVS-31As just to get dropped by a mortar shell because your buddy had to take pics for the insta
I like how I asked for any tips on what I should be bringing and got shit on lol. Enjoy your jump sprinting on labs while running a Gucci M4 in Tarkov
Lmaooo
i dont think anyone in this channel actually plays tarkov
Check out the likes though! 🤑
#irl-weapons and #irl-gear is its own ecosystem
Interesting
Thermals are better ngl
💪
you wouldnt get the life of a real war influencer...
Aw :(
Anyway nobody is actually helping you because it's an impressively bad decision
Telling you not to go is legitimately better advice than helping you do it
That you’re not taking serious
as i've said even the combat vet is telling you it's fucking dumb
scratch that, ESPECIALLY the combat vet is telling you it's dumb
I’ve been in combat, you have too. I understand how dumb it is. That changes nothing
Please tell me what your combat experience is and where. I’m genuinely curious
do you guys think he went outside the wire
Automatic PKM fire 2 meters above my head is enough to know it fucking sucks to be shot at
I think a few people here are really disagreeing with your decision in general and a good advice would be to consider what they have to say since some of them have seen actual war and stop for a few hours and rethink your decision
It’s not that I disagree with them fully, but I also don’t see any other options currently.
Was this on a boat security detail
Where
You could say the Iraq war and so on are outdated and the enemy were not so well armed but 7.62 among other calibers are still being used actively in Ukraine and each of those bullets, debris, shrapnel and so on is a potential deathbringer that can end your life there at that spot but not before feeling agony for some time
Why do you want to go to Ukraine so badly?
most recent wars have not been anything similar to peer-peer conflict
russia and ukraine is peer conflict and that makes it incredibly more dangerous
Whats wrong with just going out in a random forest and larping like idk u might get shit on for that but Id rather larp in a random ass place in the states shooting at trees instead of deploying in a random field where I can get killed without even firing a bullet of my own
Yeah, it’s not GWOT where one side has free reign to drop JDAMs on anything that shoots at them. Peer on Peer is a heck of a lot different
Because that doesn’t make a positive impact on the world.
Yeah and that's why we also see the increase of drone warfare to a point that makes this even deadlier than it was before
Drones are fucking terrifying
Idk how many times the US used their drone systems in Afghanistan and the Middle east
But their numbers are surely less than the civilian style drones which Ukraine and Russia used extensively for the past few months
But your possible death in Ukraine does?
That’s not a guarantee
the drones in ukraine are also arguably more lethal than the past drones. A reaper has bigger and better weapons, but the small FPV drones pretty much can't be shot down and you might not even notice it until your buddy's legs are gone
Yeah I redacted
You can also deploy the FPV drone without air superiority, something you wouldn't do with a MQ-9 really
Damn Houthis touching our drones
Exactly, Ive even heard some of those drones fly in literal swarms which makes them probably even more dangerous
Why can't you just be fucking normal and larp in the god damn woods like everybody Else
Fuck it go to milsim west
Milsim west allows blank firing even so yeah
Where do y’all get enjoyment out of that?
not fucking dying
It makes a positive impact as well by having a good time with friends and making an impact in rhe community that partakes in this
not fucking dying
Whats joyful in getting shelled
Getting shrapnels
phonk edits duh
speaking of I can't wait until the mortar is actually come out from iwa
Or even surviving but being disabled after
Not a whole lot, interesting experience I can imagine
There are thousands of things that can get you killed in thete
I’ve got ComTacs, my hearing will be fine
not how that works btw
I can't wait to fucking man pack like 4 of these into an event because that'd be extremely goddamn funny
I need probably five guys per team
meaning I'd need about 20 people in total
Dude I'll run it with you, I've rucked heavier
Loud noise is less loud? Seems fine to me, care to elaborate?
Hey I think Ive seen those being used in milsim events
are you aware that headphones leak
Yeah
Pretty expensive tho but thats pretty neat
These are new this is IWA trying to make one that isn't a destructive device according to the ATF
and that pressure from explosions can get under the cups
mhm
I don't care if it's fucking for grand i'm still going to buy one because all it uses is signal 50 mill subcals
If it’s landing that close I’m already having a bad time
What about when you're loading for a buddy firing a shoulder launcher?
Marines were reportedly getting concussions just from firing their recoilless rifles in Iraq and Afghan
Don’t be directly behind him
this has got to be bait
Just be aware that if having some moron blindly fire a PKM in your general direction from a klick away is your idea of combat then I honestly feel for you. Come back and tell me if your opinion has changed once you’ve been pinned down in a shitty allyway trading frags with a stranger while hugging a 6 inch door recess. I believe you’re in for a rude awakening
M72 and AT-4 are all I’ve seen foreign legion use
Honestly fair enough
yeah I'll do everything I can to avoid fighting a war within reason
What can sigma edits and war media do to a man 😭
Y’all the ones LARPing in the woods
Yeah because its safer for everyone
Im not getting shot at
And I dont shoot ar nobody
I’ve seen a shitload of unedited CQB in Gaza and Ukraine, looks terrifying, but I’m not saying no.
And I still get thrill of it + Im outside
No the best ones are cqb ones
Just wait til he’s laying face down on a rooftop with PKM fire burning right through the brick work and skipping around the rooftop overhead. He’s going to wishing that fire was 2m overhead again
There is no doubt behind that, I hate fighting in open fields
im gonna do it (with an airsoft gun)
This coming from experience?

Absolutely and it sucks
I forgot what you did in the army
Yeah getting shot with an airsoft is what I plan doing soon as well
Werent you at 11 bang bang
11B
Tell him about the acog you broke avoiding an MG (?) burst
do you want to feel old
I'd trust that man to defend my freedom
I can make you feel old in three seconds
That is one fine looking 31B
Not quite kid
If I enlisted I wanted to go with 68W
You beat me to it lol, said 11B before I could get it out
I can't believe you called him an MP 😭
bro needs to hit the gym if he's gonna do that impression
That does not adhere to Army grooming standards
People that were E threes in 2008 are now nearing their ETS dates
Dude does NOT fill out his gear
no he doesn't
I'm telling you right now no he doesn't
Idk he looks a little slim for a grunt
Thats a replacement RDS on the ACOG. The first was smashed to hell falling down a staircase avoiding a burst if gunfire. Combats fun
He hit the combat dive irl ^
9/11
"I would've joined"
75% of the people in this chat are the “I would’ve joined” type
We have quite a few vets here
I'd say the amount of "I would've joined" types here is actually pretty low
No... Not aware of any actually.
Most of the people here are either vets/active duty or want nothing to do with joining
Speaking of I got the go ahead to apply for the Mobilization
come to New Year i'll be out of country hopefully
I think I'm the closest to that anyone gets here cause I was gonna join and got told I can't for medical
that is if I don't get fucked by the people I need to get to sign it
How fun
I am the CQB
Right

He carries a broadsword into battle. His enemies fear him
Enemy aint ready for the Scottish Claymore
It worked in WW2
All day every day
Then again they didn't have FPV drones in ww2 kek
That ain’t you

Oh ok
Imagine FPVs in Stalingrad
Shut up Mr fucking "i'm going to use a law in close quarters And then share the photo of the guy afterwards"
half the time I'm waiting just to see your goddamn face on footage
Didn’t you have an X95
Are you fucking stupid
You got called stolen valour by the private contractor. It's so over for you
HAHA
Do you trust like the worst guy to argue about this
Do I get a ps5 if i scan the QR code on the m4?
you actually get a pc from msi with a 4060
common misconception
Omg
too late tho i already got it 🤑
I'll make it easy for you
And all I need to copypaste this discord link?? How sweet!
Oh yeah did you ever sort out your whole fucking situation with the Codes?
Next the private contractor is gonna ask you to post a pic with your discord tag to prove your service
Yep. Thank you v
Did your supply guy want to shoot himself when he was being putting all of it into excel
I wouldn't even want one over there
Canadian, with automatic firearms 👀
The amount of fucking M4 that are shat out of everyone's ass
I'm not sure it was for my friends brothers unit.
They're semi
That’s sad
Even idf x95's are semi
Scanner cant read them 😭
It'd a data matrix code
What does it reveal
It's literally just the serial cage code and part number
Oh
the shit that's already on that tag plaintext is just what the code reveals
the army basically what they did was to make it easier when doing inventory they wanted it so you can be able to just scan it and it'll go into their scan software and be able to check whether it's in out who has it whatever
Pretty cool
@low fox Im getting back at it but I was just wondering, why opting for Ukraine anyway?
My understanding is that you wish to die whilst making a positive impact right?
Well, Ukraine isnt the only conflict currently happening so why did you decide to go in a conflict where your survival chances are probably the least possible
If you wish to make a positive impact while still being in the frontline, then why dont you consider other conflicts where your chances of death are actually lower yet your positive impact is actually just as good if not even better
We either do or do not, there is no try
This rhetoric is probably true for #airsoft
real
@small pine money
You forget the people who just can’t meet standards
I.e too fat, or have health issues
Isn’t it or wasn’t something dumb like only 20% of the US population meet the standards to enlist but only 1% of that enlists?
Even less than that now
It’s not that people aren’t interested in joining these days it’s just that the generation joining right now just have a lot of issues
Some stats from recruiters states that a lot of folks joining are getting older and older
I remember some odd statistics at some point. Out of the 1% that enlist 1% serve in the infantry
Lol here in Benning when I see basic trainees they look like they are in their 30’s
Do they still say hooah in the army? Please tell me me it got lost along the way
They still do lol
My god
It will never go away
I’ve seen it mainly in tradoc and other units, we don’t say it here because people just yell airborne or ranger all the time here
The H word is frowned upon
Ya it was in all my units. You basically got jumped and shit on if heard using it
I’m convinced it’s a non combat arms motivational thing
A lot of folks use it sarcastically to say affirmative
Especially during mass formations
I do recall the guys that would yell it extremely loud and very drawn out to sound like an idiot…clearly making fun of it
I don’t remember any of my CSMs using it. I really only remember the last two. One grew up at Bragg and constantly talked about LGOP and my last CSM grew up in regt…promoted out of RRC and did his last leg as our bn CSM. He definitely didn’t use it
Lol it’s people telling CSM to hurry the fuck up
Because he talks too much
And it’s a Friday and people wanna go home
Ya I do recall some of those long ass 4 day weekend safety briefs
Thankfully we don’t do formations here that often but my last unit was brutal since it’s Bliss
Just baking in the sun for final formation
During the hottest part of the day
We would usually have a bn formation for 4 day weekends but honestly it wasn’t much of a formation. Usually company formation then everyone just gaggled up around BN HQ
Then back to company formation for release I think was kinda the norm
i was going to enlist and MEPS told me to go fuck myself
so yknow
Had a visit from a Japanese CSM last year I want his camo but it’s hard to get JGSDF camo
Dude’s a Japanese Ranger
Basically they’ve been sending more Japanese soldiers to Ranger school
See you only care now because you gotta be a recruiter
Lol I’m not a recruiter yet
And Genesis is a bitch
Also personally in this unit we’re feeling the lack of people coming in
I think they're at 100 percent survey right now for that
Bro we're feeling it too
we might be at critical Manning within the next year
It won't
My senior rater knows better
i am amazed you actually spotted that
11/12 of ncos
right in the kisser
Adhd is waiverable if you've been off meds for a good minute
I actively take the adderall
yeah, 12-24 months off meds depending on the MD looking at your physical
Basically can't function productively without it
(and the difference was noticeable within the first week before someone goes "hurr durr adhd meds get you addicted")
yeah thats def an issue then
Plus even if I waivered all my medications I've got back problems
Honestly don't wanna make that worse
im sure you understand the reason why folks get DQ'd right?
What meps doesn't know won't hurt them (To the board that is reviewing my discord comments in the future, this is a fucking joke I have never lied to military entry processing nor do I encourage my practice)
2 yrs without meds and you can enlist. Straight from the dodi
from what i understand they pull records now
Genesis is weird
there's a record number of folks getting fucked up in training
Yeah I still take adderall so even if I stopped taking them right now then I'd be halfway thru uni before I could even start to get a waiver lol
basically they added the system that now pulls one 100 percent of records from every major medical doc And every major insurance
and The closer it is to the 100% acceptance rate for Genesis The more likely it's to be detected
yes genesis can pull anything from, your EHR as long as it was within like 6 years or something anything before that was probably not even uploaded
but like if you add something 10 years ago in a Podunk town you paid cash for They won't know about
yup. I've got chronic back problems, plus a bad knee from a childhood injury. I wanted to go 68W but that's never gonna happen
it depends because they pull it from insurance companies and some went digital like 15 years ago
Right now we think it's either sciatica or multiple sclerosis
Because you gotta remember that's like 2009
But then sometimes it doesn't pull shit that was only like a year ago
only reason i hate genesis is i have to write people's notes when i treat them so they have record of it
No more pocketing ketamine for you
it's great though whenever you have to apply for va stuff except the fact that the va doesn't accept The army telling you that you're fucked up
i may or may not still do just because this unit plays by its own rules
LOL
I know a guy that had records From a premier army doctor saying that he was fucked up, it still took them seven years to ward them 100%
Because Veterans Affairs does not acknowledge the fact that the army says you're fucked up
but i do have to record some things so we can get the funding
Just steal all of the socom ifak filler kits and ebay them at like $30 a pop
So I can't directly go to say Hey Yeah the army says you're broken But we can't accept that we have to send you the doctors and review it and then deny you the first time even though they said You're fucked up
( I had to help someone file and holy shit is it rere tier)
Lmao I got them eagle eyes
i can guarantee you alot of the old timers also claiming that they have X injuries never got it recorded to begin with
This guy had four white boxes full of paperwork that was all recorded because he printed out his medical record before he got out
I'm telling you not this guy

It was so funny too because the VA basically told him yeah we don't acknowledge that you have a busted back and busted knees and busted angles and busted hands and busted elbows
Despite the fact that Big Army gave you a fuck load of permanent profiles for it
theres 3 years worth of SF600's from Ranger alone staring at me when i go to my office lol
You'll get over it
You should like probably do that
The good thing though is that now everything is now in Genesis so that if you get fucked up and you go to any doc in the army it all just gets uploaded
Burn it
So now all that shit where it's like oh they didn't get it documented Kind of isnt a thing anymore
Fuck their disability ratings, they ain't you, shredder time
most of them are IBOLC LT's anyways
fuckin nerds
lol
Perfect, most of them will be out in 2 years
Speaking of fucking shit like that I'm so fucking tempted to go and try to see if I can get a no shave profile
so fucking tempted But I don't want to be that guy
Why
Cause every time I see it I just think they look like a shit bag
CSM Weimer says you gotta shave 3 times a day, including your balls
Why be that guy who's stuck in garrison slick sleeving it up with a beard
that's why I'm not doing it
Dude we have so many of them it's not even funny
@storm peak he's guard so depending on his unit he can probably get away with it
One weekend a month baby
ive seen some ate up bags of asses from the guard coming through bliss for mob
it's so bad
they can't even shoot
Unironically what he is describing, of how often some white dude had a viking beard appears, is a real thing in RA
there's one doing gate guard at benning right now
every fucking day
taunting me with his beard
You are kidding but we have a legit fuckin pagan in bct
Dude was trying so hard for that waiver
for the pastafarians, they should be wearing a pasta strainer instead of an ACH
I got words I want to call them but I can't say it here or in person
bro No you're missing the funniest joke, they just cut fucking delta helmet speed holes
special forces use to wear bicycle helmets like special people do now
Bump helmets are nice for jumps
That's what I'm saying, you just get them to cut the bicycle helmet holes in their ACH
Also what do the whole fucking rumor that they're trying to get rid of the new acft and go back to the apt whatever the fuck it is
I hope to God they aren't
so here in benning i heard they took out the TW bumps from the CAASOP lol
idk if they were bullshitting
I don't because I like the current test
we're going back to Garrison anyway who gives us shit
Don't ruin this for me
It all depends on your authorized equipment memo from your bn/bde. 5th let's you use HHV bumps for jumps
yeah i think its someone's TW bump that got em fucked up so they are only allowing opscores, ihps and ach's for now
funny enough my guys in RSLC ordered a bunch of TW bumps that are just sitting in boxes right now
since its kinda pointless
And suddenly they're authorized again
I mean it's what they get for buying team wendy
yes it is
we have a deep freezer just because we BBQ every end of cycle
and a smoker out back
I know of armories that used to have entire bars
And then they suddenly had to go away
we have a bar in our compound but its being renovated slowly right now
since the ones working on it are extra duty MF's and soldiers during their free time
They do this in our rotc battalion and it’s very funny
HOOOHHHUUHHHH will be heard coming from the middle of us as soon as they end whatever event we are attending
Did I show you that?
Omg lol
SEVERAL TIMES

"HEY WANNA SEE A DUDE IN A BODY BAG BURNED TO A CRISP"
Im ignoring that. Im gonna take a nap
You got extra duty building a bar????
yeah lmao, manual labor
we made them sand all the wood
and strip the wall
wtf. All I ever saw ED do was dig giant fighting positions. Fill it in. Rinse and repeat.
lol i mean we're not in a deployed setting right now
so naturally bitch work goes to extra duty
and all the shitty details like staff duty
That was stateside. There may have been more details done by ED that I’m unaware of or forgetting but I really just remember this one spot that dug /filled/dug/filled
It was a good deterrent for stupidity I feel like. Pure misery for all to see
what does it say
The nation of Israel lives
W
Yeah folks, it’s confirmed, heading to Ukraine. Gotta start packing.
What will be your role there?
Hopefully some static stuff in the rear
🤦♂️
Did the posts go away from private/civilian gate guards and put it back on the MPs?
only place I’ve seen MP’s on gate guard is Knox or unless the FPCON changes
Here and in bliss it’s civilians and red cycle tasking dudes
Ya i never once saw a soldier on a gate. It was always civilian contractors, usually pretty old if I remember correctly
Kinda sad but I do hope you make it out somehow
Still got civis on the gates at the naval air station I’m working by, as if the MPs needed even less to do
Sad? How so
Why do you yourself go into those combat roles? What makes it worthwhile for you?
Well... You are going to fuckin war? I think that's at least partly sad
You think this war is of a better interest than one of governments?
Can you elaborate?
To be quite frank that conflict is more or less a battle between the two governments for nothing more than profit. Russias interest is only geopolitical because holding Ukraine gives them some kind of advantage against NATO. Ukraine on the other hand also has a geopolitical interest in continuing the war but not because of their defence of their people or any other similar bs. Zelensky's administration continues the bloodshed because the aid and the funds that they receive from foreign nations benefits the government, meaning that the continuation of this war proves beneficial for them, but can you say that for the countless civilians who live in that country?
If Ukraine really had their best intentions for its citizens then they would have ended the conflict in order to avoid civilian casualties but they dont do that because thats just not profitable
So basically, your potential positive impact on this conflict may sadly fall short
Which is how most of the recent conflicts operate
Purely out of a monetary incentive and the potential profit that can be gained
I can probably find all this in a better put manner but my brain is a bit of a mush rn
That sounds really conspiratorial. I am highly doubtful Ukraine is doing this for economic benefit. Russia is a direct threat to the western world along with China. Fighting Russia in Ukraine is showing China that hostile imperialism will not be tolerated on the world stage. Hopefully preventing an all out war in Asia. Fighting Russia benefits all of NATO and weakens the two largest threats to the modern world as we know it. I’m all for the crippling of the Russian and the Chinese states. If I can be a part of that, then I absolutely will be.
Plus, what does Ukraine financially benefit from old M2 Bradley’s and Abraham’s tanks? (and other technology, they can’t sell it, who’s getting richer here? American defense companies, but that shouldn’t make Ukraine want to continue a war)
You can’t tell me as a sovereign nation that if you were attacked you wouldn’t push back against those attacking you.
Ukraine does not only get military aid
A lot of financial funding gets funneled through it
And earlier during the war Ukraine even began selling some government properties for private bidders
Russia is not a direct threat, it is an indirect one
Proxy wars have been the main way to do warfare for the past few decades and a direct conflict between NATO and Russia/China had never and probably never will occur because neither side will wish to risk a nuclear war
Not only that, but large scale conflicts prove extremely unprofitable
The mil industry would be incapable to produce the necessary upkeep for such a war in a long period of time due to the relative scarcity of resources, thus exhausting finite energy for a conflict whilst yielding lesser profit out of it all
Those are merely my own observations ofcourse, but so far nothing leads me to believe that world war three or a conflict (direct) between Russia and NATO could occur anytime soon
Hes fighting for his country. You say you dont want to join the US military because you dont trust the command structure but you're trying to join into a foreign military that will have a shitty command structure just to experience combat. Honestly i think you are romanticizing the idea of war and what its like to kill another person. Its not great I can assure you that
Id dare say the US command structure would be much more competent than one of a clearly war ravaged nation
And the fact you have no real allegiance to that country is also a good point. If positive impact is what you are looking for then you could really find other places where first of all your risk of death is less likely and your impact could be even greater
I'm defending my country.
I didn't ask your motivations. Rather your role. But I'm more than happy to hear both.
Go join the fuckin Peace Corps
thats like if the united states gave up hawaii in ww2 to try and reduce civilian casualties
that is their homeland, regardless of what nation it is nobody should give up their country
To forcefully conscript people who are unwilling to go die for their country is merely a desperate way to defend the ruling government
Not a homeland
The conflict should have ended when the amount of actively enlisted personel was incapable of conducting any military operations any longer
And not a process that exhausted so much manpower that Ukraine now tries conscripting criminals and women
Is Ukraine the US and Russia Hawaii?
we dont speak german because of the draft, our nations identity is worth fighting for
i wouldnt give my life for ukraine but i 100% would for america
The example that he's using is that the lpr and dpr are Hawaii
not to get into the politics of it but the stance of the Ukrainian government is at the lpr and dpr were not proper votes and are occupied territory
it's the same story with Georgia and the 2008 invasion
the ukrainians are experiencing an invasion just like the united states did in 1941
itd be insane if they just rolled over and gave up
like i said, thats the same with any nation
You are trying to compare two extremely different countries in a situation that precisely focuses on Ukraine, not the US
if i was born and raised in ukraine id probably want to fight for its existence too
i am, for my country
Go and fight for its existence
Thats fair, the problem at hand is that Ukraine long ago exhausted a lot of their initially enlisted men on the battlefield
I mean that is untrue going by casualty figures here
And now they are drafting people who dont want to deal with that at least mostly
nobody deserves to have their homeland invaded and destroyed, russian, ukrainian, american, whatever
you think that volunteer fighters want to go to war? nobody does, its fuckin war
That is true, but if the volunteers wouldnt want war, then what is left for those who didnt even volunteer
My point is that its not fair for the draftees to get drafted into a meatgrinder which should have ended at least a year ago
Because a great deal of the fighting Ukrainian men would be draftees by now
If the men of a nation dont wish to defend their country, then why should the government wish to continue the war
62% of american soldiers were draftees in ww2
does that mean the united states shouldve just given up?
(no)
they died so that we could live in a better world, free from occupation of the enemy
Fair point but then I guess it is purely situational
I suppose a lot of Soviets were drafted too
especially the soviets
to the ukranians its the same exact principle, if they dont fight for their way of life itll be destroyed
Well I doubt their culture would get so destroyed considering both nations are alike both in how their government and economy function and how their people live
But I agree with you on that
thats like saying france isnt so different from nazi germany because they are very close together
sure, they might not behead everybody, but theyll 100% significantly alter the way of life for everyone in that country and still hurt a bunch of innocent people
France and Germany were pretty different though
What Im saying is that
russia and ukraine are pretty different countries too
