There's other issues that are related to login/user inventory management at the higher user load that came with the wipe that the queue is designed to help alleviate

Less loot the more people you have. However, the better the advantage in combat you have with the more people you have. It is a trade. I like running one partner, because having a battle buddy and the loot getting split to two packs rather than five is good enough for me.
