I was using 762x39 AK, Idk the exact type it was just basic ammo I got.
I was using just iron sight at a distance of 20 feet lolol

Because I saw the blood from each hit and the player flinched at every shot he took. He painted the wall with red blood aswell

There was 2 players, I hit the first player in the side of the chest 5 times or so, then hit him in the head 1 time which he flinched and spewed blood from his head.
The second guy ate around 15-20 rounds of 762 to the chest and painted the wall behind him red with blood from the hits he took to the chest and stomach.

i'd recommend you look at the wiki for the ammo you're using. You could have been using bad ammo against lvl5 armor.

Also unless they changed something recently i think blood is still client side and does not 100% guarantee that you hit him but don't quote me on that.

also helmets can bounce bullets no matter the penetration

Blood isnt client side only because I ran PMC on interchange yesterday and I killed another PMC with chest shots from an SKS, he ate around 12 shots and chased me but I finished him with 1 chest shot and 1 headshot which he painted the wall behind him in the Idea store lol. Blood is an indicator of someone taking damage from bullets. It works on AI scavs too.

sometimes depending on the ammo you have it's better to go for leg-shots instead of center mass shots. Prime example magnum buck

yes, blood splatter is simulated on your client and in the past it hasn't indicated that the server registered the damage. You can have people's barrels being aimed at the heavens and they can and will be able to shoot back

I have about half the hours as @hallow ledge and only just realized that depending on the armor you may get penetration with some bullets it may not do the full dmg. I was shot in the chest with LPS ammo while wearing level 5 armor and barely took any dmg form it

no, if you are shooting 556 fmj at a lvl 4 helmet you will do next to no damage. Also lvl 1 glasses have the ability to bounce a bullet if the person is lukcy enough

Also dont forget that guns jam. I had 2 AKs at 100% durability jam after the first 3 rounds. I killed an AI scav with 3 762 shots and 2 PMCs come charging in and im dead to a bullshit gun jam and I had to swap to a shotgun I picked up.
