It's definitely worked for them. I mean from any other game I've played, it's a true battle simulator. Not as hardcore obviously as Arma but it's got a niche it nicely fills, issues is it's just also very wonky. I see what they're going for and it's there, just very unpolished. Probably gonna take years.
Sound design is amazing I will admit, however it needs work on spacing and defining location, for example that new deadspace game or remake they were coming out with has a redesigned sound system I feel a game like Tarkov could really use.

Yeah I feel a few lab runs would be a good idea, just to get out of my inherent fear. I got like 9 million. It's not much but it's honest scaving lol
I feel you tomasz, I checked out the interior, got lost a little, but found that it's actually relatively easy to learn. Lots of dark corners and angles that can be peeked during movement.
I like reserve. The underground and the way the map was made is very appealing.

Best part is losing your sense of direction. lol I'm getting the hang of it..

I'm the type of guy who checks his map every 20 paces. So for me its a new feeling to use my head to move around.
I used to do it more in this game I played called Reign of Kings when I was younger. I knew those maps by sheer ground level and certain forest design. lol
Otherwise this game feels like an ant in a big sandbox. The distance threw me for a loop on customs for abit. It all fell into place eventually.

Ive been struggling with this for a while but... I do PMC and Scav Runs a lot and get 1-2k XP but im still only about level 15 whilst some people I play with g et to levels 30 and 40 much quicker than i get to 10. How do I level up quicker? (and does it change anything)

To level up, play pmc and focus tasks. Get lots of scav kills for easy xp.

Usually just a bit extra xp in a task run tho.

so alot of poeple suggest factory to new players to try and memorize but whats another map thats easy to pick up?

Do not go to factory as a new player - unless you're doing it offline just to practice map knowledge and scav killing

Woods and Customs are definitely the only two maps new players should start on - Woods is quieter but harder to learn (It's a lot of trees, less landmarks), Customs is harder to much easier to pick up.
