A good rule of thumb is you never want to be more than 2 steps away from hard cover unless you are forced to.

Avoiding hard lines like the tops of ridges or hill go a long way , same goes for buildings and walls.

So let's look at your options here , you're stuck on a catwalk , you can either run back up the stairs , putting the stair between you and the shooter for light cover , but will be stuck up stairs if you make it.

You can stand and fight , but the other guy had better cover and starred the fight ( meaning you're in his kill zone ) so that's a no go.

So the best thing to do in these situations would be fire at the guy and push down the stairs trying trying get stuff between you and him. Then you can decide to fight or flee

The best way to think of it would be a dead zone in which you don't have a loss of speed / momentum, but once you're outside of that dead zone you start to bleed velocity.

The start speed delay is good, but the stop delay isn't great and could be adjusted.

So first here is the difference between m62 and m61 as far as bullet drop goes.

doesn't seem like a lot but it will come into play here in a second.

Our shooter is zero'd for "50" in tarkov, which is a combat zero. Meaning the first pass through of the line of sight is near 50m arces up above our line of sight, then falls back down onto the target at 200~ meters roughly.

With the 700 being zero'd for m61 , we get a mechanical offset.

So that is part of the issue , the second part of the issue is you're looking at the range finder which lies a little.

In long range shooting there are two segments of range you have to find

The true range ( line of sight) and the horizontal range ( base of the triangle)

bullet drop is accounted for in the horizontal section of our math problem.

So bullet drop wise , he's closer than 120m.

This is where the offset from m62 fucked you.

First shot we have about 3cm to play with in either direction

maybe 2cm on the lower section cus the hit box for the cliff could be fucky

2nd shot , about 4 cm top, ~ 1 cm low

And last one the PMC is moving to his left , our right, I think desync got you here more than anything else.

MOA on the rifle is .84 , so that'll be ~ 1.68" per 100m , so about 1" if I'd have to estimate range based on the slope.

Difference in flight path between the two rounds caused a situation where they were impact high. if you go back to that spot Im betting they are hitting ~ 1.5 mils ( not actual mils but the markings) high

hmm main reason i thought it was the scope was genuinely not because of any of the actual shooting or bullet trajectory, it was mainly cuz of the players reaction, im pretty sure even with the bullet deviation of that much im sure he would have heard it wizz by on the first shot and would have ran away.
