Ergo effects things like ads time, weapon sway, & I think even the drain on arm/breath stamina while aiming. Snipers actually benefit a ton from ergo since recoil is kinda irrelevant.

Whether a gun really could use the ergo or recoil is different for everyone. In general losing 8 ergo for 1 recoil (only pay attention to vertical) is not worth.
