Certain items will be quite rare to buy on the flea when a lot of people need it for hideout/quests etc. later on when demand is reduced, the listing price will also normalize

Learn the key locations such as the central mountain, FOB, the various camps, sawmill etc. Then move in relation to those to wherever you need to go. Running about in offline mode with a map on the other monitor is a big resource to learn a map. If/when you see a crashed plane, go to the front of it and look on the front left of it, thats where the note is.

If you're going to upgrade, eod imo is the best choice (due to gamma container + stash space). If you enjoy the game a lot and feel its worth the money, then sure, go for it. You are paying for convenience though, as you can upgrade the stash via the hideout (though its expensive), and completing punisher quests gives you a slightly worse gamma container

I can't help you in game, but here's what I recommend. Find Lookout rock (Circled red on map) to orient yourself. It's a giant rock that is visible almost anywhere on the map. Once oriented go to pink squares for search mission and purple circle for introduction.

Factory is a small map. Firstly survive the spawn. The factory expansion area is normally a little less populated than the office portion if you are avoiding players. Really you just gotta kill stuff before it kills you on that map.
Or you could just go into a 5 man lobby and farm scavs with them.

Learn to read this chart so that you can figure out what is the valuable "AP" (high pen) ammo that you might want to keep.
