Some player scavs dont care about their karma and will just kill for loot. Best you can do is to use voip or voicelines to tell them you are in fact a scav, then be prepared to shoot back if you get hit (or run away). Sometimes though you just get backstabbed :/

you make much less noise. You can be a lot more stealthy. Its harder to spot you. You have the freedomn to flank and punch out anywhere you want without havving to describe it to your team. You dont have to plan a path to hit all the spots your mates have quests at or wanan visit, you do what you want. If you hear someone you know you can shoot it. Your teammates dont walk around when you are trying to listen. If you see someone they are an enemy, dont have to ask or think about if they might be a teammate. No chance to be teamkilled. You hear much more again due to people not speaking while you think you heard something.

there’s a big camp and a huge mountain. if you find either his camp in between them.

downed plane is an obvious giveaway as well. i went into 3-5 offline raids just starting from spawn point to find his message. disconnect and do it again. helps you get acclimated to finding it.
