its one of the only like 2 extracts that dont require special items or circumstances to use, and it takes a really long route to get there from the surface of the map, mostly through tight tunnels with literally hundreds of dim lit places to camp

Usually movement and clothes. Scavs move like...scavs. face forward, walk, stop, turn. Pause. And youll learn their spawn area on each map. Players sprint, look around, jerk to a stop, and are more unpredictable.
If youre on woods in the town area, you might hear them walking and saying random voicelines. But if youre in what I will call a 'gap' area like between the town and sunken village its a pmc or player scav
