customs is a good place to start, as most of the early missions start there. the game will start you with wearing a bunch of gear. early on, you're gonna mostly die, and you probably dont need all that gear on you at once. i recommend that newbies start with just an SKS in their hands (bought from prapor), and ~30-40 rounds of 762 PS ammo in their pocket, with some meds in your alpha container

you can also start with a scav run, which has no risk
