i am a new player and i need help i have no idea what i am doing

we all started there. theres a few good paths. Pestily has a series of tutorial videos (both beginners playlist and the raid series) that are fantastic for understanding the core gameplay loop. nothing is more important than learning the maps, so i cant undersell finding maps that read well for you and going into offline raids and getting the lay of the land. you want to find your landmarks and learn how to use exfils. once you have those fundamentals down, its time to go get killed a bunch of consecutive times as you learn how to survive maps with players in them. i would suggest starting with scav runs, or pistol/sks only PMC runs. be prepared to die a lot, and pay attention to everything you can to build out your understanding. there are a few ways of finding people to hold your hands in raids as well. you can check in here, you can hang out in LFG channels (explain you're new), or you can go to the sherpahub. sherpas use a first come first served ticket system that may take a couple days but at least you'll be moving forward. You'll also find periodically players show up and offer to take noobies out. feel free to grab onto them too!

tldr: game's hard. keep going, and finding players can be tricky at first
