in all seriousness, just go in with an open mind and know that your going to fail and die a lot. but once you get an idea of how to play and learn some game mechanics youll do fine

learn some maps start doing your quests and slowly start to fighting people

If they're found in raid I would sell most. Best profitable way to use your guns at start is to sell them and just use the sks. You could save some cheap guns but if they sell well I'd rather just sell them and use other stuff

You can kill chads with the sks easily with some good ammo

he's level 3, he doesn't have access to flea so found-in-raid does not apply; if you like a weapon just keep it, otherwise sell it, do not hoard items, especially at the beginning. focus on your tasks and upgrading your hideout instead.

i have a dumb question which idk if it fits here in beginner assistance but here goes
I love the game, the way everything works, the combat and looting, and i love playing tarkov, but i have a slight problem.
i dont fear losing gear, and i dont "fear" dying, but i suffer from extreme anxiety, and playing solo for some reason makes me feel really scared. I know the easy way around this would be to just play with someone else and i do that every so often, and even if they cant carry me or even if theyre a new player, i no longer feel anxious, but would anyone have any tips on how to feel less anxious about playing solo?

if this is isolated tarkov issue then my guess would be that the root cause is that your survival rate is low and you often die in a way that is hard for you to explain

i.e. you got shot and you can't precisely tell from where and why

it boils down to learning the map(s), play offline if you have to, watch streamers, but don't try to replicate their play styles, instead try to figure out where are the spawns, what is the typical flow for given map, where are the hotspots and where and when you can expect enemies

if you get jump scares it means you were not prepared - there are definitely times and places for you to lower your guard in tarkov, but you have to know precisely when and where

on a bright side, even tho the game seems absurdly large and complex at first glance more maps are pretty repetitive and action is pretty static, bound to few locations at specific times

once you learn player spawns and their goals/pathways it's much more easier to predict when to raise your guard, when to look for and how to set up an ambush on your own

take Customs as an example

you spawn on train tracks by trailer park, you have a spawn immediately behind you, by trailer park bushes you can ambush, or you can start running to crack house - if you do you can safely cross the river as there are no pmcs directly in front of you and the spawn on the other side of the bridge will rush to dorms 9 times out of 10

once in crack house you have a limited time to loot, you either set up an ambush and wait for the other spawn i mentioned to catch up or you push to stronghold, but by this time you can expect people who spawned by power building to already be there

if you go with the flow there will be only limited number of angles you have to hold at any given time, and if you get shot, even if that's suppressed you can pretty reliably establish direction
