I see mechanic gives more for guns parts/ammo, ragman gives more for cosmetics.

I suggest you try your favorite gun in an offline mode raid, just stand 10-15m across a wall, dump a magazine and inspect bullet holes. You can also test single action guns shot in rapid succession, like SKS or Adar. It will give you an ideal of how much recoil you should expect from the gun.

Keep in mind that for reliable full auto at a medium distance you'd need a vertical recoil at around 50 or lower and players also get additional recoil reduction from skills. If you're new and shooting unmodded gun you should pretty much forget about auto mode unless you're at point blank range.

Maps are not very useful. They'll give you the layout of an area but won't tell you more than that. If you want to learn extraction points I'd look them up online or watch a video then just play the map in offline to learn the layout and spawns.

That likely has to do with bad positioning as a PMC. On maps like customs, people will rush the nearby spawns with the hopes of getting a kill.

I can't help rn, but I'd recommend just playing the map a bit more. Keep a photo of the map pulled up on a second monitor/phone/tab and just walk around while keeping track of where you are, try and get familiar with the different spawns especially, a lot of them can get you killed in the first minute if you don't know where to run.

The problem with smgs is that the more widely available ones early levels have their only good ammos tied behind higher level traders unless you want to pay like 800+ per bullet.

You can get AKs surprisingly low recoil with a few cheap attachments and a good muzzle break

Don't really need to go all out on the attachments, grab yourself a rubber butt pad for the stock, a cheap handguard that will hold a foregrip and one of the higher recoil muzzle breaks and it should be manageable

Ammo is more important than the gun most of the time

Generally no, if you're on target the bullet should hit. There are some occasions where the sight might not be zeroed properly or the gun you're using isn't shooting where its supposed to but that would be a bug

SSD is the only difference you'll see. Plus as a PMC you have to wait for all players to finish loading, so some raids might still take awhile.
