Wipes are roughly every 4-6 months, give or take. Last wipe was WAY longer because .12 took forever for them to finish and it resets all accounts back to lvl 1 with no items other than starting stuff etc

@plush stratus If you can afford to max everything you'll have a much easier time, especially workbench/Lavatory/intel center. You can craft a load of the items you'll need to find for quests as you go through the game
And intel center also gives you a nice boost to reward cash from quests, scav cooldown reduction and a reduction in flea fees

@bold kernel it's a general consensus by most veterans. In the event you run into a player you will likely die to high penetration rounds no matter what. So you're just spending 50-70k for no huge benefit. After playing through several wipes, a helmet has maybe protected me 5% of the time, and mostly is when wearing a class 5 altyn or something. It's very easy to pen lvl 4 or just literally hit the face.

If you take parts off and it turns red then that part was vital
So usually pistol grips, handguards, gas blocks
You can buy the shotty from Flea for the task...just buy one that isn't red
