how to stop fearing combat in tarkov? i see myself often being unnecessarily careful and afraid of pvp, i get startled by footsteps easily. I mainly play tarkov to loot, and very very rarely use my good gear, i'm like genetically a rat. How to overcome this?

one way is by becoming competent in pvp. the fastest way for that would probably be arena

its a complex topic with many solutions that are effective based on you as a person

the mines start slightly before the slop of the hill on the right goes up so you have maybe 400feet of space

Your timer gets reduced by the intelligence center in the hideout, the Hideout Management skill, and by getting scav rep with Fence
Every 1.0 rep reduces the timer if I'm not mistaken
Once you get an intel center and a level 6 rep, yourcooldown is basically 5 minutes AND you spawn with better gear also

I'm at 1.51 now

If you play PMC and extract via the car service, you get a lot of this

On each map, for the first few times you get:
1st time: 0.2
2nd: 0.1
3rd: 0.07
4th: 0.05
etc...

If you survive as scav you get 0.01
So taking the car is equivalent to extracting 20 times as a scav

At least for the first time

I’ve just unlocked the cultist circle recently, so have been researching what to sacrifice etc… Tarkov wiki says when the value of the sacrificed items is greater than 400k roubles there is a 25% chance to receive items needed for quests and or hideout upgrades. Is the value calculated from what the traders offer you for it.. or what it’s worth on the flea?

i usually gravitate towards 5.45 weapons as they usually have quick firerates and more manageable sprays, if you have reserve unlocked on any of the roofs on the surface you can find pretty decent 5.45 ammo boxes so finding the ammo for them is pretty easy too

7.62x35 and 5.56x45 doesnt really seem interchangeable to be honest

but the 5.56 mags fit the bullet so be careful not to load that bullet

once you click "lets see what u can do" dialogue, u get 3 options. one delivers ur items to ur stash, other buys cover fire so everyone close to the btr gets shot as long as ur inside, and the third one is taxi service,takes u from point a to point b

oh also

when people fight u near the btr u mostly have advantage once the animation to exit btr is over

remember, if they miss one single bullet and hit the btr, they just die automatically

which is not avoidable when they are spraying with a full auto weapon

I have a pvp question. What is a good method to clear buildings? I just had a situation where I got into a 1v2 in the pier office building on shoreline. After killing one on the top floor, the other one went to the bottom to hide somewhere in complete silence. Unfortunately the only exit was through a large open area in the middle of the building which has rooms on both sides of it and many outside windows and I was out of grenades after the fight. After like 7 minutes of walking on the top floor and scouting the bottom floor and outside safely from every possible angle and trying to bait shots from rooms on both sides of the exit hallway I finally cracked, walked forward into the hallway and peeked one of the 2 side rooms. Of course the opponent was in the opposite room and he just gunned me down since I was in the open. Could anyone give me some advice on how to deal with this infuriating playstyle?

Dealing with rats sucks, you have to try to get creative, a great tool for a situation like this are greandes which are always good to have at least 1. If you have 2 spots you think the enemy could be in nade 1 and peek the other. Also im not sure if you can vault and jump out of the windows of that pier building, the big obes facing the water, if thats possible its what i would do.

For this type of fight you were at a huge disadvantage. The guy knew where you were, and you didn't know where he was. Since he was silent not making a single move all you could of done was trying to play it safe like you did

However waiting 7min/makinng a ton of noise didnn't help you to very much. It allowed the other guy to gather more information on where you were/how to win in the fight. Better option would be to be slightly more aggressive. If you needed to reload/heal I understand waiting the 7min but if you still had 2 full mags and a good chunk of health, the best option would of been to quickly go downstairs. Another thing would of been to push down the stairs that had the hallway to the back door. It cuts off a 'death hallway' where the person has better peaking ability. Over all you were screwed in this fight, and it seems like you did the best things you could of done to win it

Also when fighting a rat, and you know it's a rat, it's best to keep moving. They want you to move slow/be nervous cause it gets them a better reaction time. Playing fast gives the rat a slower reaction time and can help you. This also lowers your reaction time, BUT it gives you the same playing field as the rat now. They're more likely to miss there shot if you're moving quicker, which will give away there position if they do shoot allowing you to play better instead of moving slowly and getting 1tap from a corner

True, never slow peek a rat. If hes in a room run and jump past the door to get info then prefire his position. Prefire in tarkov is really strong due to desync and peekers advantage

If you die and your gear remains inside the raid until the end, you will get it back. If someone takes it with them (out of the raid) you will loose it

If you die and no one takes the insured gear out of raid you'll get it back within 24-48 hours. There's also something called "Insurance Fraud" where if you kill someone with better gear you drop your stuff into a bush and wear the gear of the person you killed getting your stuff back later on hence it's being fraud
