yes. if nobody is looting your gun you get it back. if you have stashed it and die afterwards, your subtask will be checked as completed and you don't have to stash the gun again. hint: i think the first "place" will alwas put down the gun first.

Dont even bring a backpack to be faster, "smaller" and quiet

Im guessing you're new so avoid scavs if your quest doesn't require you to kill them
And don't focus on shootout picnic quest, it brings you nowhere and you can do it without thinking about it

Early on your best options are:
9mm guns like the Saiga-9 or MP5 that have no recoil, they do no damage so you have to aim for the face, but they can be great laser beams
Mosin from Prapor with SP BT is great if you like bolt actions,
KEDR or PPSH are both good for close-range high-damage guns you can spray legs or face with.
AKS-74UB is unlocked after Prapors debut quest, easy to mount optics and tac devices but you have no good ammo to buy for it. Good 5.45 is easy to find (PP, BP, BT, BS) but even if you can't it's easy to go for headshots with bad ammo.

If you want to guarantee profit, you can always enter the cycle of scavving and offline-PMCing/Practice Mode while your scav is on cooldown. Scavving can only make you money. Practice mode is great for learning maps, learning loot runs, and getting good at killing scavs and scav bosses, and other core mechanics like hipfire. It's literally impossible to lose any money doing this, so it just stacks up while you learn a lot

Go to the dormitories on the forested side of the map, go to the three story building second floor. Go to the barricade blocking the corridor and jump in the open room, search the jackets for the key.

Then go out the closest door and go straight till you hit the fence, go left for a bit and go trough the hole in the fence. Then go right towards the building under construction. Go to the fuel truck parked nearby and unlock the cabin with your key, the pocket watch is on the floor.

Survive and extract, turn in the watch and q complete.
High trafic area tough, best to squad up for it.

I would really recommend purchasing a compass. Mine looks like it's broken, but if you hold it out (it will not have anything in your hand), it will show numbers in the bottom right. I believe 180 degrees is going to be north. Pull up a map on google of the map you are trying to learn (on phone or other monitor) and try to go based on that. Find something that you can recognize in game and on the map and then just roam based on that.

You can also do offline raid when your scav is on cooldown, you basically do a normal raid but you can tweak AI and you can explore the map at your own pace, you cant gain anything from it though

u will meet players of all calibers on all maps, only exception might be ground zero and labs but even there

labs id say leans more towards experienced players while ground zero less experienced
