Nope you dont lose anything but dont gain anything, it just helps you to navigate maps and practice with quests

I keep hearing "you'll eventually get better after thousands of hours," but I'd prefer not to be spinning my wheels for that long and not improving, so any advice on how to improve fast is welcome. After learning the maps by playing lots of PvE, I initially tried being more aggressive in PvP (first PvP wipe), but died a lot, so I've been basically hiding for 15 minutes and then sneaking to quest objectives. For PMC kills, I just camp or spawn rush. Is this actually a way to improve though?

Tons and tons of tips i could give a fresh player like a whole list main things are youtube this discord and wikis are your best friend as a new player youtube has guides for every single quest in the game and helpful videos to teach the basics wikis have 2d and 3d maps to help you learn the map layouts and anything else you might need someone in here should be able to answer for you the main tip is get real used to thuggin it out its rough for sure

Not really only thing the upgraded versions get is stash size extra trader rep which is nice a bigger secure container depending on what version and extra starting gear if you play the game for a couple days and really find yourself enjoying it the better versions are really helpful but not necessary

Everything you get from the upgraded versions though you can obtain yourself at some point in the game it takes some grinding tho

IMO it’s less about your headset IRL and more in game. I prefer running Peltor Sports the black headset with no microphone on it since it gives the best natural noise reduction and still out classes most mid tier headsets. So it’s perfect for just normal kits

Prapor quests are easy early on, therapists too but they take time if you don’t know any medical spawns. Skier isn’t to hard until you get PVP quest and jaeger has tons of easy quests

If you accept mechanics gunsmith quests you can look up how to do it too

And accepting his first quest lets you unlock jager you don’t even have to complete it

Depends, it’s a HUGE map and doesn’t run to good on lower end PCs. Customs is the best map to learn early on

The loot is good but it’s just so big I hate it

Most of the time you won’t see more than two groups

Or two players. But there have been raids where I haven’t seen anyone. But that’s only late at night while everyone’s off.

But most of the time on customs if you play passive and don’t be loud, you can easily get around the map without being seen

Customs also has some of the best loot in the game and the best marked room. Dorms is absolutely chock full of loot especially if you can get keys

And surprisingly, not many people are going for it. Even without keys, though there is still a good bit of loot.

You have to learn it, if its just a scope with no visible mount (its just a tube), the you need a ring mount, its name says what kind of ring mount, ringmounts go on rails, many scopes just straight up go on rails, some scopes need their own mount adapter, if the scope has a thingy on its side hangong down, it goes on russian style side rails (like a kobra sight on a ak-74u)

Iirc all three have a "redemption" quest to get that lost rep back. Prapor wants grenades, The Rapist wants semi rare keys and skier wants a flat 1m roubles.
Without flea those keys are the hardest to get so I'd pick The Rapist.

Headphones make all the difference when playing.

Different ones have different hearing ranges
They also change the way ambient noises sound,
Gun shots, foot steps, the wind, etc.

Testing and experimenting with different headsets is a good way to get a feel for the one you like the most

Also, if you are playing as a PMC and going into raids-

You have to treat everyone as an enemy.

Unless they are people you are grouping up with before you go into raid.

On the drive, where tark is installed: Set pagefile max to 64000.
Despite what dude tells, the number is not ram dependent but rather how much space is on your drive.

If you want to guarantee profit, you can always enter the cycle of scavving and offline-PMCing/Practice Mode while your scav is on cooldown. Scavving can only make you money. Practice mode is great for learning maps, learning loot runs, and getting good at killing scavs and scav bosses, and other core mechanics like hipfire. It's literally impossible to lose any money doing this, so it just stacks up while you learn a lot

that said, the scav queue timers right now are gross
