Accept all your tasks - Start in Ground Zero
https://reemr.se/ - these maps are great but the wiki has a lot, as does mapgenie. Tarkov-market.com has a cool feature where you can take a screenshot and paste it in and it'll put a dot on the map where you are.

Head into a practice mode, toggle on some AI scavs, and try to get a feel for the map, movement, gunplay, scav killing, etc.
When you're ready - try to scav into one of those maps and actually get some loot out.
Then you can take your PMC in and try to do some quests or loot or simply survive.
Good luck - you will die, try to have fun with it.

also just some general tips -

-If you want to guarantee profit, you can always enter the cycle of scavving and offline-PMCing/Practice Mode while your scav is on cooldown. Scavving can only make you money. Practice mode is great for learning maps, learning loot runs, and getting good at killing scavs and scav bosses, and other core mechanics like hipfire. It's literally impossible to lose any money doing this, so it just stacks up while you learn a lot
-Stop running everywhere - sprinting is very loud and gives you away, it provides a lot of opportunity to ambush you. Whenever you're in high-traffic areas, be very disciplined about when you sprint.
-Have a goal in mind every raid, plan a route and try to stick roughly to it. If you notice a route failing 3 times in a row, change your route. This makes it easier to keep track of which routes actually work and which are reliably dangerous.
-Positioning is everything. In combat, frequently reposition, map knowledge is critical. Pick your fights, don't be afraid to retreat
-The first 5-7 minutes are the most dangerous. Don’t try to push for a task or cross the map too early. Hunker down or loot near your spawn, and let things get a little more predictable.
-Ammo is more important than guns, but you need to know how to use what ammo you have. High damage vs High penetration is a critical difference - double click on the rounds to see the values.
-Learn from every death, there's almost always a lesson, recording them and watching them back really helps improve
-Most importantly, have fun with it - don't be afraid to take a break if it's frustrating you too much.

I completed the kovgrod mode and extracted from interchange. I got the pop up that the quest was completed but I can't turn it in and it's not listed as completed. The one for scouting all trees was completed however.
Customs bugged out and despite stacking almost a hundred scavs (unironicaly) none counted in the post raid screen when extracting from interchange (kills went straight from woods to interchange).

Is this a known bug or do I have to redo everything from the beginning?

The key is a guaranteed spawn in a particular jacket in three story dorms (second floor with the barricade).
If it's not there, someone else took it. Late in a raid there's always a good chance someone else did the quest and that leaves the door open for you. You can skip a lot of expensive keys that way.
That or keep asking around in LFG channels, it's very likely to find people on the same page as you there early wipe.

The easiest thing you can do, is spend a few minutes in offline and find the more distinguishable landmarks to familiarize yourself with. If you see the resemblance of the cooling towers, you’re on the south side of the map.

If you to go the tasks tab you can see what tasks you have from which trader. You need to accept them -> they will turn from grey to green. Best is to just search the task in the wiki or youtube to know what u gotta do

custom and woods. try to learn these maps first on the offline mode. extractions, main point of interests, scav spawns. and if possible try to learn where are the main PMC spawns. it will help a lot in the beginning of the raid so you can predict where are the enemy pmcs

They have websites with maps that give crazy details on each independent tarkov map my advice is find a map you want to learn run you scav on it with the map pulled up on a second monitor or phone and learn it best you can with scavs before you bring your pmc in

You dont need a key to get access to the machinery key spawn location (unless it changed this wipe). Look it up on the wiki and see where the spawn is. Should be "free".

Depends on how you approach it, its meant to be a multiplayer task so if you go solo you'll likely have a hard time, you basically fight off waves of scavs

If you're looking for teammates you should look in #pvp-lfg , as to getting lost its kind of hard to navigate at first but your best bet is to look around to find the mountain where the sniper is, this represents the middle of the map
