Most new people, die because they run predictable routes. Staying unpredictable is the key to success here

On shoreline for example, i stopped dying a lot, when i stopped running directly from spawn to resort.

Watching rat youtubers helps a lot to learn the rat spots

uhhh... spotting people.... its a little hard to teach, but I mean the best advice is to look at places that can have people hiding themselves behind

any open areas you generally don't even have to look at for more than 2 seconds

usually your wide peek when holding down your middle mouse button is a great way to use your eyes third sense at spotting irregular things

Hey so im not sure where else i would get help for my issue. I tried to update the game this morning and it said one of the files couldnt download so i verified my game files, tried again and the same thing happened. I then uninstalled the game and launcher thinking it would be a bug with a file that got corrupted and wasnt detected or something. I reinstall the launcher and start the game install and a message saying "Unable to download the file, there are no channels available for the specified file" pops up. Any ideas for fixes?

I don't think you have it unlocked yet but you can put an acog scope on the carry handle once you unlock flea market. Double click the gun, find the carry handle and click linked search for whatever attaches to it (or the other way around, things you can put the carryhandle on).

For the moment, you are best of with either the MRS scope from Skier level 1 (the front irons are still in the way but it's workable) or the Axion Kobra EKP-8-18 from Jaeger 1 if you have him unlocked (linked search on the sight and put the sight shade on it, very cheap stat boost). Of these two the Kobra is the better choice since it is slightly elevated above the iron sight gas block and has a better dot.

If you want a magnified optic your choices are a bit limited when starting out if you aren't using parts and scopes found in raid. Your only real choice is a VPO bolt action with a 25mm ring mounted scope (sold by Jaeger) but this is somewhat lacking (Also one of the earliest weapons you can supress, Skier sells the supressor). Best to bring a pistol backup for that build. Take care you don't mix up 366 and 762x39 ammo since they can both go into the same magazines but won't work when loaded into the wrong weapon.

That said, make building the workbench in your hideout a priority, it unlocks the modding screen (gunbuilding with whatever parts you have in your stash) and the edit preset screen (where you can put together a design without having to have the parts on hand and assemble/buy the required parts with the click of a button).
