Sorry if this is a dumb question! I have a desktop pc from 2016 with a gtx 1080 and I just got a laptop with a rtx 4080 in it. Would it be better to run tarkov on the desktop or the laptop at low-medium settings. I’m not sure how a laptop card holds up to a desktop card even if it’s older.

Laptop most definitely. Having a 4080 is very nice for tarkov but tarkov is cpu heavy and need a min of 32 gb of ram. As long as you meet those requirements, you’ll have a better experience playing tarkov on the laptop

Is there a way to see what parts of a body armor are covered by a plate? I know I can see the plate when I inspect it but it's hard to tell how large it actually is on the players body. I also can see what areas the soft armor cover and the plates cover in general terms by looking at the protected area or the armor class area on the armor vest stats.

But I'm more wondering about where specifically the plate covers

Looks super normal to me. Don't stress. People will tell you 200 hours is nothing because relative to lots of other players, it is.

That said, here are some tips that helped me when I was learning

-You want to get one map down well. Don’t spread yourself thin early on. Focus on getting good enough at one map you can always go back there and make money if you need to, then go learn others. Start anywhere but Factory. Don't spend too much time on Ground Zero.
-If you want to guarantee profit, you can always enter the cycle of scavving and offline-PMCing/Practice Mode while your scav is on cooldown. Scavving can only make you money. Practice mode is great for learning maps, learning loot runs, and getting good at killing scavs and scav bosses, and other core mechanics like hipfire. It's literally impossible to lose any money doing this, so it just stacks up while you learn a lot
-Stop running everywhere - sprinting is very loud and gives you away, it provides a lot of opportunity to ambush you. Whenever you're in high-traffic areas, be very disciplined about when you sprint.
-Have a goal in mind every raid, plan a route and try to stick roughly to it. If you notice a route failing 3 times in a row at a certain point, change it where it fails. This makes it easier to keep track of which routes actually work and which are reliably dangerous.
-Positioning is everything. In combat, frequently reposition, this is just one of the reasons map knowledge is critical and should be built and practiced ASAP. Pick your fights, don't be afraid to retreat
-Ammo is more important than guns, but you need to know how to use what ammo you have. High damage vs High penetration is a critical difference - use an ammo chart.
-Learn from every death, there's almost always a lesson, recording them and watching them back really helps improve
-Most importantly, have fun with it - don't be afraid to take a break if it's frustrating you too much.

If you're looking for good loot on ground zero i always go underneath. theres rarely any pmc's lerking down there, minimum scavs, and insane loot. Ive walked out with 2 sledge hammers and 4 thermite for a 15 minute run as a pmc. you can run this as a pmc or scav because no one goes down there.

i do have the slowest loading speed out of the friend group, but Reserve loads within 4 minutes completely, ground zero just entered matching

Nothing happened, so I relogged into the game and I was at 480k. Bought a bunch of suppressed ak74u's, which after buying and selling them should have gained 100k each, so I did 4 of them. I should be at ~880k, but even after several relogs, I'm still at 480k. Did I do something wrong, or is there some odd refresh time before I'll get it, I'm going to be really mad if I wasted like 300k.

No restrictions on attachments, you just have to use the specified gun. Buckshot will probably be easier if you just camp somewhere and facetap them as they come in, otherwise slugs are the way to go, the best being AP-20, but you probably dont have a large stockpile of that so FTX slugs are also good.

Its best to clear out the boss or preferably a raid without kaban, then wait out the last 5-10m of the raid to extract since most players and player scavs will leave at that point

Ok i think it may just be a slightly different model of the pistol from what i can find, check the stats like Ergo, MOA ( not that MOA matters on pistol) , the Recoils and Weight as they can all vary ever so slightly different to another in the same class / caliber

Evo-ergo is weight to ergo ratio

And ee:recoil compared the weight, ergo, and recoil against other options
