-If you want to guarantee profit, you can always enter the cycle of scavving and offline-PMCing/Practice Mode while your scav is on cooldown. Scavving can only make you money. Practice mode is great for learning maps, learning loot runs, and getting good at killing scavs and scav bosses, and other core mechanics like hipfire. It's literally impossible to lose any money doing this, so it just stacks up while you learn a lot
-Hipfire is exceptional, using a flashlight and hipfiring is a hugely important mechanic to start practicing. Use practice mode
-Stop running everywhere - sprinting is very loud and gives you away, it provides a lot of opportunity to ambush you. Whenever you're in high-traffic areas, be very disciplined about when you sprint.
-Have a goal in mind every raid, plan a route and try to stick roughly to it. If you notice a route failing 3 times in a row, change your route. This makes it easier to keep track of which routes actually work and which are reliably dangerous.
-Only right hand peak if you have a choice. It exposes far less of you than peeking left.
-Positioning is everything. In combat, frequently reposition, this is just one of the reasons map knowledge is critical and should be built and practiced ASAP. Pick your fights, don't be afraid to retreat
-Ammo is more important than guns, but you need to know how to use what ammo you have. High damage vs High penetration is a critical difference - use an ammo chart.
-Learn from every death, there's almost always a lesson, recording them and watching them back really helps improve
-Most importantly, have fun with it - don't be afraid to take a break if it's frustrating you too much.

• I play ludicrously carefully. I only sprint from cover to cover and, more often than not, I try to remain as unheard as possible. When I started, I was running down open streets like a dunce.
• This one's hard to do considering I don't know what I'm looking for or what I'm doing.
• Even when I reposition to try and find a better spot, I'm just swung around by some PMC in class-4 armor and carrying a nuclear bomb vs me, effectively a coughing baby. Retreating isn't my issue, nor is positioning. It's just... I don't even know.
• How can I learn from every death if I can't see what killed me even after in a reply or something along those lines. What exactly can I do to actually learn from my death?
• Then... what was the point of getting the game if I'm not even going to play it because I'm frustrated?

it's an event, it's poision, don't go near the water on customs. You can buy an anti-toxin from therpaist for 1 btc to get rid of the poision visual effect
