you need to move fast so you dont run into players, if u get a bad spawn you just extract
if you get a spawn closer to the middle of the map you can choose to just go chalet/cottage, or just sprint to plant
if u get northern most spawn u just sprint straight north, all players are behind you

Basically, Tarkov has 3 fundamentals.
- Navigating the map and extracting.
- Fighting.
- Looting.
If you are new the most important step is to learn 1, there is no point in trying focus on 2 or 3, if you can't do 1.
Your goal should be to spawn and navigate to an extract. If you manage to do that you are already winning.
To help with that you should open a map for the map you are running on your second monitor (or phone), best are interactive maps that you can find on the tarkov wiki.
Just walking around the map will be already very deadly as pmc, but your goal is to play pmc as often as you can.
So you should alternate between playing scav and pmc and use the scav gear on your pmc until you can do point 1.
I recomend playing woods or/and customs as your first maps. Woods is the easiest map in the entire game, the only thing about Woods is understanding were you spawned, if you mastered that, you are on a good way to master the map.
Customs is on the other hand is a lot easier to navigate but has more narrowing's on the map, making pvp more likely (as in on customs you will probably run into more other people)

Depends on the map and the quest, but on average, the best way if you don't care about anything then doing the quest, is to bring food and water, then camp for the first 15-20min in a bush and then go and do the quest.

For some reason the performance of night time streets (after 21) is a LOT better then on day time. Maybe try out night time streets as scav (change your postfx to black and white, there are tutorials for it on youtube) and see how it goes.

Yes and No. They are only usefull for Factory were you fight at the spawn and the map is so small that there can be an argument, that you don't need headphones as much as on other maps, and you can make a faceshield on theses helmets. Its basicly saying for Factory a faceshield is more important then headphones.
I don't like it, I think headphones are more important, but you can try how you feel about it, somepeople like it.

its a good way to play the game and learn about modding weapons, understanding the stat range on the different parts, will also help you identify what to loot in raid and what not. I think thats a good strategy to improve in the game.

Well, it is neither rare nor is it modded in a ultra meta way. The scope is good, because its a zoom and cqc in one.
Even as Rat you should gear up more, you don't need to change your playstyle (if that is what you enjoy) but better gear will allow you to make more mistakes and you will over all extract more.

If you want to play a slower more tactical way, you don't need to go ultra budget or leg meta, you can also do it (more) geared. You don't have to stay low gear all the time.

yes and no, I always run with nvg. My recommendation is, go to youtube and look for "Night time postfx" and set the game to black and white. Then join Streets as a scav and see how you feel about it. If you find it to dark do nvg. If you don't run nvg, you will be at a disadvantage vs people running it. But I have killed a lot of people this wipe not running nvg.

Basically, Tarkov has 3 fundamentals.
- Navigating the map and extracting.
- Fighting.
- Looting.
If you are new the most important step is to learn 1, there is no point in trying focus on 2 or 3, if you can't do 1.
Your goal should be to spawn and navigate to an extract. If you manage to do that you are already winning.
To help with that you should open a map for the map you are running on your second monitor (or phone), best are interactive maps that you can find on the tarkov wiki.
Just walking around the map will be already very deadly as pmc, but your goal is to play pmc as often as you can.
So you should alternate between playing scav and pmc and use the scav gear on your pmc until you can do point 1.
I recomend playing woods or/and customs as your first maps. Woods is the easiest map in the entire game, the only thing about Woods is understanding were you spawned, if you mastered that, you are on a good way to master the map.
Customs is on the other hand is a lot easier to navigate but has more narrowing's on the map, making pvp more likely (as in on customs you will probably run into more other people)

Thats expected and normal. If you can manage to do 1 extract to 2 deaths, you are on a very good way. You have to be above average in skill to reach a 50% survival rate. This is a hardcore game after all.

The basic is simple. A bullet has dmg and penetration. The less penetration it has the more dmg it has (on average). The more penetration then it has less dmg (but most good penetration rounds still have good dmg).
The tier of the armor gives a rough indicator how good the armor is (its complicated in the details, but for the start not that important). The higher the tier the more penetration a bullets needs to do dmg to the pmc. If the bullet hits the part were the armor is.

Typically yes but damage is also an important thing to factor in. Being able to pen more armor is nice but if you don’t do anything when you do it’s pointless.

Low penetration rounds that have high dmg are also good, as long as you shoot something that has no armor, like the legs.
But the most meta is playing high pen rounds, since it is easier to hit the chest and you need to do more dmg to kill a player shooting the legs or arms then shooting the chest.
These low pen high dmg rounds need something that shoots very fast, so you do massiv dmg in a very short ammount of time.

You should alternate using scav and pmc, and use the gear you collect on the scav on your pmc. (When you play scav other scavs are neutral towards you as long as you don't shoot them, you get negativ rep for killing scavs as scavs, you should not do that)
Sell the Pistols. You can play the M4's but they aren't that great. Try to not run naked runs as pmc. You should as minimum have 1x AI-2 medkit , 2x Esmarch tourniquet and 2x Bandages as your heal gear. For gear the headset is in my opinion the most important part of the gear and you should not skip it. If you want to skip any gear, I would skip the helmet.
Your long term goal should be to do quests (the traders give you quests) as pmc (you should accept them already), and your immediate goal is to just manage to extract.

once you build water collector you should see “defective wall” as another hideout room after a few hours
then about a day after it shows up you’ll get options to fix it
