Start in Woods or Customs
Woods is harder to learn but safer.
Customs is easier to learn but more dangerous.

Use these maps - they'll look cluttered at first. Hit "Hide All" on the left-hand toolbar, then scroll down and only toggle on "Extractions" and "Locations". That'll give you a pretty good look - feel free to toggle on some loot options as you go

Head into a practice mode on one of those maps, toggle on some AI scavs, and try to get a feel for the map, movement, gunplay, scav killing, etc.
When you're ready - try to scav into one of those maps and actually get some loot out.
Then you can take your PMC in and try to do some quests or loot or simply survive.

If you ever just want to guarantee profit, you can always enter the cycle of scavving and offline-PMCing/Practice Mode while your scav is on cooldown. Scavving can only make you money. Practice mode is great for learning maps, cache runs, and getting good at killing scavs and scav bosses, and other core mechanics like hipfire. It's literally impossible to lose any money doing this, so it just stacks up while you learn a lot

Good luck, you're going to die a lot, try to have fun with it.

like my game chugged every time i shot a bullet it was like 100 frames down to 20

i upgraded from nvidia to amd and thought it would auto remove the drivers and uh no such luck

I like factory till level 8 because...

1. The serious folks are all on customs competing for the first few quests
2. I get quick matching times and if I die it aint like i was in the match for long.
3. Quick salewa, safe, cabinet, tech crates, chance of Tagilla.
4. Until level 8 I can do all my quests on factory and then I'll have like 4 customs quests at once.

Only do one woods raid to get jaegers message then factory till I have enough quests worth doing. I get the keys I need on file cabinets and I am full of good rigs, bags, gear by then. Also the XP is the fastest in my experience doing factory and killing scavs
