Sherpas are there to help teach new and old members aspects of the game that they may not be comfortable with. Door opening is not a part of that. They will be happy to show and teach you ways of finding/locating keys if there is a static spawn for said key but they will not 'carry' you to open the door for you

's basically as soon as you get the notification on finishing a step, you can't lose that progress

so it's not super hard

Use these maps - they'll look cluttered at first. Hit "Hide All" on the left-hand toolbar, then scroll down and only toggle on "Extractions" and "Locations". That'll give you a pretty good look - feel free to toggle on some loot options as you go

Head into a practice mode on one of those maps, toggle on some AI scavs, and try to get a feel for the map, movement, gunplay, scav killing, etc.
When you're ready - try to scav into one of those maps and actually get some loot out.
Then you can take your PMC in and try to do some quests or loot or simply survive.
