Hey im kinda new to eft any tips?

-The first 5 minutes of a raid are the least predictable, kill this time close to your spawn looting or whatever to ensure an easier path through the map.
-Hipfire is exceptional, using a flashlight and hipfiring is a hugely important mechanic to start practicing. Get a good feel for it in offline mode and you'll thank yourself later.
-Stop running everywhere - sprinting is very loud and gives you away, it provides a lot of opportunity to ambush you. Whenever you're in high-traffic areas, be very disciplined about when you sprint.
-Have a goal in mind every raid, plan a route and try to stick roughly to it. If you notice a route failing 3 times in a row, change your route. This makes it easier to keep oriented and focused in-raid
-Pick your fights, don't be afraid to retreat - it often gives you a better chance to hit back later.
-Only right hand peak if you have a choice. It exposes far less of you than peeking left.
-Ammo is more important than guns, but you need to know how to use what ammo you have. High damage vs High penetration is a critical difference - use an ammo chart.
-Positioning is everything. In combat, frequently reposition, this is just one of the reasons map knowledge is critical and should be built and practiced ASAP.

Use these maps - they'll look cluttered at first. Hit "Hide All" on the left-hand toolbar, then scroll down and only toggle on "Extractions" and "Locations". That'll give you a pretty good look - feel free to toggle on some loot options as you go

I would suggest starting with a practice mode on one of those maps, toggle on some AI scavs, and try to get a feel for the map, movement, gunplay, scav killing, etc.
When you're ready - try to scav into one of those maps and actually get some loot out.
Then you can take your PMC in and try to do some quests or loot or simply survive.
Good luck - you will die, try to have fun with it.

Just know that as a Scav there's a Karma system in place

You gain Karma by extracting as a scav without killing peaceful scavs, using car or scav+pmc (Co-Op) extracts, or killing PMCs or bad scavs (scavs that have shot friendly scavs that raid) as a scav.
You lose Karma by killing peaceful scavs as a scav.

Pros of good Karma: Better Scav Karma means better scavs, with quicker cooldowns and better gear on average. Quicker scav cases, cheaper extracts, and if you get to 6.0 karma bosses are friendly and a special fence market unlocks, though that's certainly not the primary benefit.
Cons of good Karma: You get executed by mean scavs from time to time and just have to take it.

Pros of Bad Karma: You can kill anyone you want and get their gear, which can be really helpful depending on your ability to fight scavs.
Cons of bad Karma: Worsening timers, worsening gear, slower scav cases, more expensive extracts and and -6.0 everything will treat you as hostile on sight.

That depends a lot on how effectively you do quests, since most xp gained comes from quest rewards and the xp from higher level quests give you higher xp rewards.

Level 40 is 2,351,255 xp level 20 is 345,751 xp - so about 7 times as long (but thats not true since xp rewards are big chunk of your progresss)

Look up the quest tree and prioritize tasks that unlock more quests down the chain. For example Skier’s Stirrup is a dead end, but Prapor’s Bronze Pocket Watch gates many future quests. You want to do tasks for all the traders since they’re all useful to level up.

There’s also some noteworthy tasks that you pick up with time. Skier’s Friend From the West unlocks Peacekeeper’s tasks, Peacekeeper’s The Cult Pt 1 unlocks M856A1 ammo, Mechanic’s Gunsmith Pt 6 unlocks the AK rubber buttpad, etc
